Why do people keep saying this? Sweet Melody (million selling number 1 single), Heartbreak Anthem (close to a million, #3 single), Confetti (Platinum, #9 single), Kiss My Uh Oh (Platinum #10 single) all followed Jesy leaving the group. The only reason the Between Us singles flopped is because it was complete overkill in 2021 with Little Mix music and there was virtually no gaps between the singles from Heartbreak Anthem onwards. Even then they still managed to get No and Love (Sweet Love) into the top 40 and the album hasn't left the charts since... If anything late 2020 - 2021 and their final year releasing music was probably their second imperial phase after Glory Days!

This. Everyone keeps saying 'oh she's an album artist so it doesn't matter about the singles' completely forgetting you still need popular singles to make the album a success. The good news is that she sold out on her tour and if she's in this for the long run (depending on when Perrie and Leigh wanna reunite) then I can definitely see her building up a solid fanbase over time and potentially having the odd top 40 hit again here and there. She has serious hustle and incredible talent and the acclaim so I hope the inevitable album top 10 debut - out of top 40 next week trajectory won't dishearten her or her fans. I feel like Perrie and Leigh both gave up quite quickly (and so did so many other members of pop groups who went solo) and I'd hate to see the same happen to Jade. Although to be fair 'Angel of My Dreams' is probably going to get a Platinum certification soon and that's certainly a triumph. I NEVER would have expected any of the girls to get a Platinum single and she'll always have that.

I hate how the charts work in the streaming era. I've said it before but at least in the 'sales' era you would have artists performing on every TV show possible, doing magazines, interviews, CD signings etc desperately pushing their single into the top ten. Nowadays you can do everything in your power to promote your song but if it isn't on a Spotify playlist then it's doomed. So unfair and so boring to witness as well.

Huh? She definitely needs them! She's getting rubbish Spotify support and aside from AOMD a year ago she's only dented the top 40 for one week - and that was probably just because of the Brits hype at the time. The interviewers absolutely set her up with that ridiculous question though and it's so unfair they're snubbing her because of how she responded. How was she supposed to answer?!

Why isn’t this released now? She’s playing to tens of thousands of people at these festivals, her performances are getting good views on YouTube, she’s all over stan Twitter and Tik Tok, there’s a bit of hype around her and yet her new single isn’t even available to stream yet! Such a wasted opportunity. By the time it’s released thousands of people at these festivals will have forgotten it even exists.

I can’t believe how well FUFN worked live. It was sensational! If only they didn’t squander all her hype and momentum by randomly dropping Midnight Cowboy (what is the POINT of promo singles?!) and Fantasy (great song, bad single choice) though. I feel like it’s still an uphill battle for her to get any mainstream success regardless of the praise and online buzz she generates.

Can people on Popjustice stop with the ridiculous claims that the girls were ‘fizzling out’ towards the end of their run? They literally had a huge number 1 single and three other Platinum top ten singles in the months prior to their hiatus announcement. The way fans are rewriting history to imply the girls were flopping is so bizarre. They were still one of, if not THE most successful female British act in 2021!

Just release the damn album already. It should have came out straight after Angel Of My Dreams! She’s not some brand new, u nknown artist trying to build a fanbase. Why wait until all the hype has (potentially) dried up before releasing it? I swear if the next single flops and the album gets put on hold and none of these girls release an album….

This is AMAZING!!!! It should just be the single already. I feel like promo singles derail momentum and confuse people and take the hype away from the proper singles.

That’s a real shame. Hopefully it gets a resurgence next year and gets regular rotation. It’s already her second most played song on Spotify!

I mean there’s ‘always’ vermin accounts on social media. Every celebrity gets disgusting Tweets about them. There’s entire Reddit forums created to creep on female celebs or hate them. It’s just tiring that every single constructive criticism about Jesy gets shut down because she highlights a handful of moronic trolls on Twitter all the time and uses them as a deflection. Her and her stans need to stop highlighting the very obvious troll accounts and start acknowledging the genuine criticism ones.

Why do you (and other Jezy stans) constantly go on about ‘hate’ and ‘trolls’? I didn’t see any of this anywhere besides a handful of random joke comments on some stan Twitter accounts? ‘Barage of hate’? People are allowed to express that they don’t want Jesy back. It’s not ‘hate’ or ‘trolling’ to say this. If people are criticising her appearance or giving death threats or specifically tagging Jesy in posts then sure, that’s out of order, but please stop the dramatics. For the record I prefer Jesy in the group and it was never the same when she left. The other girls were more than capable of covering her lines and harmonies but Jesy was a great member and added so much fun and energy to the interviews and promo side of things than the others. It really sucked she couldn’t just do one final year of the Confetti/Greatest Hits releases and bow out on a high with the other girls instead of trashing her legacy and leaving the other three with one member down in their final year. I’d LOVE her back if she just apologized.

Liam’s death plays minimal significance here. The song missed the top 200. Jade posting some links on her socials wasn’t going to save it.

I think this will completely derail the hype that Angel Of My Dreams created. It’s…a good song and decent’ish video but nah. Not good enough.

The other three girls don’t owe the public anything. God, the entitlement of stans. Jesy sat back and allowed Leigh-Anne, a close friend of 10 years who had just given birth, receive death threats and abuse from deranged Nicki Minaj fans. Leigh doesn’t need to make up with Jesy for the sake of pleasing a bunch of strangers and it’s disgusting to use Liam’s death as a vehicle to guilt trip people into supporting Jesy again.
