  1. AOMD (I really don't think she (or anyone) will top AOMD. Just an absolutely incredible, well crafted, original pop song full of unique hooks and switch ups. )
FUFN (should have been 2nd single, a classic huge overproduced, messy, noisy pop anthem)

Plastic Box (stunning, but bad choice of single at this moment in time when she really needs something more 'loud' and 'bratty' to save the campaign)
It Girl (the 'I am the it girl' part is ridiculously catchy and justifies being a single but the rest is kinda demo'ish)
Fantasy (great song but salty it killed her momentum)

Midnight Cowboy (kinda boring and also salty it killed her momentum)

God, if they went AOMD > It Girl > FUFN > Plastic Box without Midnight Cowboy in the mix things could have been so different chart wise.

She just posted a video with the caption that she's happier because she doesn't care what anyone thinks - girl read the room. She's got people still commenting about chris brown in the comments, honestly deserved at this point.

I've gone off her so much since the group split. The music has been great but the constant passive aggressive social media comments are so....childish. She's a mother in her 30's and she's achieved so much with Little Mix yet there's this constant negative, overly defensive vibe when the slightest bit of criticism goes her way.

Jade confirmed in the podcast, her, Jesy, Perrie and Leigh agreed pre Covid to do one last album (Confetti) and part ways and do their own thing.

Interesting. I remember her saying in another interview that it was August 2020 when she was on holiday with Jordan that the group decided to end it after Confetti?

Is that the one where she’s getting loads of hate? Made me feel so sad in that interview because the GP just keep’s talking about her weight it’s disgusting! She looks so healthy and happy

I was confused about this too when I saw some of the Facebook posts about her festival appearances. Really baffling. She looks completely normal? Considering her history with eating disorders I really hope none of the comments trigger her. People are so f***ing shitty honestly.

I was so disappointed when I saw Keisha too :(

Yeah her husband made some pretty horrific homophobic and colourist comments.

This puts a bad taste in my mouth, especially as we learned both her and Andre had partners when they started seeing eachother.

Let's also not forget that Leigh was supporting Tulisa and 'liking' her Instagram posts about Misha B in 2020 even though Leigh was in the middle of a BLM campaign and recording her own documentary about being a black woman in the industry.

(and omg, I can't believe I'm defending Jesy Nelson on this but I found it strange that Leigh's best friend - as Nicki pointed out - is also a white girl who blackfishes and Leigh doesn't seem to have a problem with that)

Can’t believe her first Glastonbury performance is 3 days away! I wonder if she will remove/cut down the Little Mix medley in favour of either Backbone or an album track?? 👀

No way will the LM medley be removed. It's the most 'casual friendly' performance besides Angel.

She’s getting quite a bit of backlash online, which honestly I get…

    Rochelle and Keisha as well.

The quicker we pop fans understand that girl groups spewing 'female empowerment' is purely for marketing and PR purposes the better.

(isn't her partner also extremely homophobic?)

    208k is pretty terrible :/

I wanted this to really smash but it’s already down to 17 on iTunes too so maybe it’s just not connecting?

I feel it suffers the same way as Fantasy in that it's a beautiful song but just not really single material.

AOMD > FUFN > It Girl would have been the better singles rollout.

SM aside they were already declining as m from BUS (which itself was a minor revival from TAU)

HBA is. David Guetta track which they do vocals on. KMUO was an Anne marie track they featured on

Confetti did have the first official track since Jesy left feel, potentially did better because of that

BU did feel like it was a fast roll out, but pregnancies and tour probably didn't help its case

'Sweet Melody aside'? My point is literally that them having a huge number 1 million selling song the year before they broke up literally goes against every argument that they were on the decline as a pop act. You can't just put it aside for convenience. And even IF it didn't happen then Confetti, Heartbreak Anthem and Kiss My were still back to back top ten Platinum smashes with their name attached to it. Again, hardly the sign of an act 'on their way out'.

The girls were insanely popular and consistent in their 10 year run together. All their albums went Platinum (two of them 3x Platinum at least), they had about 18 top ten singles with most of them being Platinum and really the only flops to their name were a shitty charity single (Word Up) and the Between Us tracks at the very end of their career when they were 2/3 pregnant and had a year of overexposure.

Even Bounce Back still went top 10 and a Silver certification and Think About Us managed to go Gold without denting the top 20 (and having a botched release).

I'm the first to call an act a flop when it fits but come on, these girls were on fire for 95% of their career. Hit after hit after hit. Sweet Melody being one of their biggest selling songs just a year before they split up shows they had serious staying power.

I think it was always going to be an uphill struggle because the pop industry is so fickle and even Little Mix started to lose the streaming power they once had, especially after Jesy left and things started winding down and she needed hard hitting music that would get people talking.

Why do people keep saying this? Sweet Melody (million selling number 1 single), Heartbreak Anthem (close to a million, #3 single), Confetti (Platinum, #9 single), Kiss My Uh Oh (Platinum #10 single) all followed Jesy leaving the group.

The only reason the Between Us singles flopped is because it was complete overkill in 2021 with Little Mix music and there was virtually no gaps between the singles from Heartbreak Anthem onwards. Even then they still managed to get No and Love (Sweet Love) into the top 40 and the album hasn't left the charts since...

If anything late 2020 - 2021 and their final year releasing music was probably their second imperial phase after Glory Days!

The problem is, in order to obtain any true album success she needs some streaming support. Her physical sales don't appear to have been strong and a 4k album week one then dropping out of the charts is not going to give her any career as an albums and touring artist. I actually think she would fare much better on an independent label, ok the budget wouldn't be as big but she could certainly still make albums with critical acclaim and build a career as a top 10/20 albums and touring act.

Back on topic, I really like this one, it's my favourite of her singles so far. ❤️

    This.

Everyone keeps saying 'oh she's an album artist so it doesn't matter about the singles' completely forgetting you still need popular singles to make the album a success.

The good news is that she sold out on her tour and if she's in this for the long run (depending on when Perrie and Leigh wanna reunite) then I can definitely see her building up a solid fanbase over time and potentially having the odd top 40 hit again here and there. She has serious hustle and incredible talent and the acclaim so I hope the inevitable album top 10 debut - out of top 40 next week trajectory won't dishearten her or her fans.

I feel like Perrie and Leigh both gave up quite quickly (and so did so many other members of pop groups who went solo) and I'd hate to see the same happen to Jade.

Although to be fair 'Angel of My Dreams' is probably going to get a Platinum certification soon and that's certainly a triumph. I NEVER would have expected any of the girls to get a Platinum single and she'll always have that.

  12. I hate how the charts work in the streaming era. I've said it before but at least in the 'sales' era you would have artists performing on every TV show possible, doing magazines, interviews, CD signings etc desperately pushing their single into the top ten. Nowadays you can do everything in your power to promote your song but if it isn't on a Spotify playlist then it's doomed.

So unfair and so boring to witness as well.

This "beef" between her and Capital is so pointless. In real life she doesn't need them and they don't need her.

Huh? She definitely needs them! She's getting rubbish Spotify support and aside from AOMD a year ago she's only dented the top 40 for one week - and that was probably just because of the Brits hype at the time.

The interviewers absolutely set her up with that ridiculous question though and it's so unfair they're snubbing her because of how she responded. How was she supposed to answer?!
