Coronavirus Discussion
If it's any comfort apparently cases in Scotland peaked at the start of the month and hospital admissions have also been falling recently. There's a daily post on Reddit that details everything - https://www.reddit.com/r/CoronavirusUK/comm...pdate/?sort=new

Madame Tussauds x Little Mix
I was thinking the burglar sort out outfits from Woman Like Me. Also I know this sounds dumb but I swear with these waxworks there's so much physical stuff involved - literally every measurement and model from your entire face and body is needed, you have to spend hours and hours with the team to get it as close to your appearance as possible. It's sort of really nice that Jesy has agreed to go through with all of that. It's not like she's just at home and agreed for them to do it without her getting involved.

Madame Tussauds x Little Mix
I doubt Jesy will have one done but it is a shame as I don't think they're established enough as a 3 piece for this. I get it's just for some cute pictures but it's quite obviously going to look incomplete - like Spice Girls without Victoria/Geri or something.

Coronavirus Discussion
There was over 930 hospital admissions in the last 24 hours across the UK. :o Case numbers are flying up and deaths are creeping back up as well. We're actually having more deaths and hospital admissions than we did last summer, and accelerating towards the January peak very quickly (in terms of cases and admissions) which is extremely concerning. Finding it hard to stay positive at this point.

I can't see it doing much better worldwide at this point, and it's definitely peaked in the UK. Best hope now is that it can avoid ACR and stick around for a while. :D Think the problem worldwide is that Guetta is constantly releasing songs and none are getting a MAJOR push.

Coronavirus Discussion
This is one of the most frustrating and manipulative things to come out of this last 18 months as well - labelling anyone who is hesitant about this ONE vaccine as an 'antivaxxer'. It's very clever language used to paint these people as nutjobs who think Bill Gates is installing a micropchip in our veins when really (speaking for me personally) I'm actually very pro-vaccine. *shrugs* I have no issue with anyone taking a vaccine if they want to. I just totally disagree with that bonkers post earlier stating it should be mandatory.

Coronavirus Discussion
You do know that Covid isn't a threat to millions and millions of people in the UK? I'm not downplaying that it CAN be serious, but only to a TINY percentage of people. The overwhelming majority of people have lived amongst Covid since February 2020 and haven't even had a sniffle. If people would rather continue taking their chances with Covid (like they have for the last 18 months fine) than potentially risk having side effects from a vaccine then that's their choice. There's been plenty of media coverage about people taking blood clots, brain aneurysms and full body paralysis from these vaccines - healthy young people who Covid would probably never have been a threat to. How would you feel about making vaccines mandatory and then some poor healthy 20 year old drops dead because of it? Who's liable? If you have the vaccine then good for you. Your chances of getting seriously ill from Covid are even smaller than they already were. You have no reason to be concerned about those refusing their vaccine. Makes no difference to your health whatsoever, and before you spin the 'BUT THEY COULD CAUSE VARIANTS!!!' nonsense remember that transmission still happens even after the vaccine and there's always going to be the possibility of the UK importing variants from other countries anyway. Stop your nonsense. One thing I've learned about this last year and a half is that people have no clue how to understand basic data. There's a population of 67 million people in the UK - a tiny tiny tiny tiny percentage of that figure have been affected by Covid.

Camila Cabello - Familia
I love Camila and can't wait until she's back. I feel like it's already been too long since 'My Oh My' but we'll see.

OCC: Biggest songs Ed Sheeran wrote for other artists
Didn't Jess Glynne write Woman Like Me for herself until Syco practically wrestled it out of her hands? I swear she was in various interviews talking about how much she loved it and wanted it for herself and her demo was circulating the net at the time too?

Dave/Stormzy might be a big hit, and Three Lions will almost certainly overtake this week. I can't see them getting to number 2 unless they both underperform and Olivia hits ACR in two week.

Apparently they're re-creating a movie. Ideas?

Anne-Marie & Little Mix - Kiss My (Uh-Oh) • July
Oh no. I'm prepared for some Katy Perry/Camila Cabello slapstick styled video with breaks of dialogue in the middle now.

Has there been any idea what the video is like? I saw a photo of the four girls outside laughing against a wall or something?

Anne-Marie & Little Mix - Kiss My (Uh-Oh) • July
To be fair I think I'm being unreasonably harsh on Anne-Marie because I feel like Little Mix should have got that Ariana collab fans have been begging for years.

Anne-Marie & Little Mix - Kiss My (Uh-Oh) • July
I don't think anyone criticised her for doing collabs. I only complained that it would be nice to see Little Mix have a collab with someone on their level of star quality/popularity.

Anne-Marie & Little Mix - Kiss My (Uh-Oh) • July
I mean, if we're going to be pedantic about it - Anne-Marie hasn't had a SOLO hit since 2018. There's a reason she's been attached to so many popular artists since then and why she needs a Little Mix collab to launch her album. Just a top ten hit featuring on someone else's track doesn't mean that you have a fanbase. Charlie was the same situation - his two number 1's were features. Nathan Dawe and Cheat Codes as relatively unknown dance DJ's with a couple of top 40's under their belt managing to nab Little Mix for a single is definitely helping them out more than the girls. Saweetie's top 20 hit in the US is irrelevant to the UK. I'm not saying these artists are unknown but there's quite clearly a difference between one of the biggest acts in Britain and these artists.

I mean, I'm not going to turn away a new Little Mix song (and it'll probably be another top 10 for them at least) but I feel like some of their collabs are so underwhelming. They're one of the biggest acts in Britain and I feel like they're constantly 'helping out' other artists (Anne-Marie, Nathan Dawe, Cheat Codes, Charlie Puth, CNCO, Saweetie and all their other rap features besides Nicki and Stormzy) whereas it would be nice to see an actual collab where the star power is pretty equal I guess? Also they've been dropping hints about this since at least 2019 so I'm glad it's finally getting released so we know it's done and they can move on.

ROUND 16: UK Top 10 Singles Survivor
Sweet Melody is basically an updated and improved version of Touch tbh. It's basically the exact same structure.

What I will say is that the 'no promo' argument (for or against any single) is pretty redundant in 2021 as artists rarely perform their songs unless it's an award show or a festival/late night TV show. The charts are pretty much dominated by Spotify playlists and radio play.

2020 was a great year for them, nah? Reviving their commercial popularity, three hit singles, a TV show, tons of hilarious YouTube content and amazing performances plus a hit album and strong tracks. Really the only lacklustre part of their career was from the Brits 2019 until Break Up Song was released.
