The sheer grip that poppies and war veterans have over the public that Sir Tom Moore (who, I genuinely respect and admired) can go to Barbados with his family for Christmas and put others at risk and STILL have mass media attention and the public begging to introduce a 'Clap for Tom' tonight due to him catching Covid, when if this was a young person or another celebrity they'd be crucified. :lol: The fact people are excusing the trip and saying he 'deserved' it is mind boggling. Isn't every desperate for a holiday? Don't we all deserve one? At the very least, all the NHS staff and key workers? What makes him so special?

But Wings and Black Magic got certified Gold because they had a promo cycle (radio, TV, performances) and charted because of it. They're not going to sell another 500K without that? :unsure: Especially as has been pointed out, they've been nowhere near the top 200 on any metric in years? And if Love Me Like You actually hasn't charted or there's been zero indication it's sold so much, then it's a bit pointless guessing or assuming it's figures? Seems a bit pointless claiming songs have sold certain figures when there's nothing to back it up. We could just assume they've sold anything in that case. :lol:

Cases are plummeting so fast. :o I genuinely think we could be below 10K daily cases at the end of February. It's amazing how quickly they're falling.

According to an Instagram Live they did a few days ago, 'Don't Talk About Love' was going to be the next single from their EP after 'Ugly Heart'. :lol: Yikes. EDIT - And OMG I've went down a rabbit hole of GRL videos today and found this horrible interview with Natasha from 2019 - The interviewers are constantly talking over her, interrupting, talking about themselves, one of them didn't even know Simone committed suicide and the way they spoke about it/asked Natasha about it was so casual and then the started speculating and making assumptions as to why it happened. Ugh. Gross.

Confetti was a let down. It should have been more pop and colourful (like Power) with a better breakdown considering it’s imagery of confetti and celebrating, instead we got a rather laid back sexy club vibe instead.

Where are you getting these numbers from? Half of them never made the top 200 on iTunes or Spotify ever and the ones that did (Wings, Black Magic and Shout Out) were very minor hots. These figures seem like a huge stretch. Love Me Like You doing 500K?

Those ‘be fine’ type harmonies after the chorus are genuinely my favourite parts of the album.

Gloves Up is annoying because it only has two choruses. I hate that structure - why not have a bridge and then a big final chorus?

Not A Pop Song and Nothing But My Feelings are pretty juvenile and wouldn’t have sounded out of place on Get Weird or DNA. My Love Won’t Let You Down is basically just them finding a ballad to throw on the album. They sound AMAZING and the lyrics are very sweet but it’s just not very exciting.

It’s probably extremely frustrating for him that his previous singles were much bigger and a collab with one of the biggest acts in the UK is barely making it into the top 20 without begging. I imagine he thought a Little Mix collab would have been an easy top 5 for him.

Yeah, I think they would run a real risk of overexposure if they brought something out before like, April or May. They had quite a hectic 2020 (Break Up Song, Holiday, Sweet Melody, Confetti, The Search, Jesy leaving, No Time For Tears) and I think they need to let their current two singles die down and leave the top 40 for a while before teasing anything else.

I'm sorry if I sound like a broken record but I really think there should be some sort of enquiry into the behaviour of the media throughout this whole thing. Their scare tactics and selective reporting have left people feeling absolutely terrified and hopeless. There's a difference between reminding people of the severity of the virus and implying that we're all doomed and that no lockdown seems to work. It makes me absolutely furious seeing those click baiting headlines where they take small parts of data and post them as a headline with zero context then I scroll through the comments and see so many people say they're finally 'giving up' and 'life isn't worth living any more' because of this. It's f***ing disgusting.

811,000 Love Me Like You > 4th Jan 2021 < :o :o :o How have I just saw this? A song that didn't even go top ten and was overshadowed by Black Magic and dropped from their setlists after 2016 has crossed 800K?

It's weird because on paper this should have been amazing (a girl group as talented as Little Mix on a dance track) but it's just so...boring. :(

(Nathan seems nice but it’s pretty obvious he was so vocal about supporting Sweet Melody so the Mixers would help him with his track too :lol: ) I doubt RCA care much about this since they barely cared about Sweet Melody until their fans harassed them.

Even if it got enough downloads to go top 20 on iTunes (which would be extremely difficult considering the current single with Nathan barely managed it), it would need to be big on streaming to dent the top 100 again. No chance. I do agree it deserved better though. I actually think the single mix is one of my fsvourite singles by them. :o I just wish they made the last chorus more of an explosion and turned down the production of the first two choruses. As it is, it just sounds like the same chorus copied and pasted when it would have worked SOOO much better if it built up gradually and then the last chorus was over the top and huge Perrie belting. :lol:

I think best would genuinely be Sweet Melody (they all sound so good, choreography is perfect and the song is a huge bop) and worst would probably be Touch and before anyone kills me I genuinely just don’t think it translates very well live. The chorus always sounds so limp. :unsure:

If new cases continue to fall at this rate (I think we’re at 35K new a day as opposed to the 69k a fortnight ago and still plummeting), deaths fall (after they peak next week) and more and more people are vaccinated.....what need would there be for a lockdown in the spring and especially summer months? I was cautiously optimistic the last few days but now I can see us being allowed out in the summer again and then locked down in the winter...which makes me feel a bit hopeless.
