  1. Hopefully it sells enough to at least go Silver...
  2. Yikes. Only 3 weeks from release and this thread is dead. It's at number 59 this week.
  3. Yeah the song is a total bop. I feel like the video REALLY didn’t help because it doesn’t encourage many people to share it or replay it because of how dark it is.
  4. I feel like Jade will have an easier time than Leigh because her music will be exactly what the gays want and will obviously be a huge bop with (probably) a very camp, colourful video with tons of replay value. I also think Jade is more likely to do the less glam side of promo (morning TV, local radio stations) and will probably want to perform it as much as possible and Perrie can probably release anytime and release anything and will have an easier time than both Jade and Leigh.
  5. Where is it on Spotify?
  6. This went in at number 18 in New Zealand https://nztop40.co.nz/chart/hotsingles?chart=5599 (If this is a real chart?)
  7. This is ridiculous. There's a huge online community of very sick and disabled people (totally bedbound) who rely on the platform to interact with eachother, follow research and share advice and knowing this is going to impact them is just stupidly cruel and unnecessary. f*** sake.
  8. I said this in the Leigh thread and it applies to her too but Jesy is the most obvious example of someone who wants to be a solo artist but wants to do the bare minimum when it comes to putting the work in to make it a success. Just showing up to Capital and Radio 1 for an interview on release day and doing two performances in 1.5 years isn't the work ethic of someone who actually cares about being a musician. Mel C, Nadine Coyle and Una Healy are perfect examples of girl group members who leave their groups and hustle at every gig, festival and tiny radio station possible. They're happy to do medleys of their group hits. They're just happy to be on stage and doing what they love. Mel C funds all her own releases and Nadine has literally done gigs at bingo halls. Mollie King was the same as Jesy. She showed up to Radio 1, done a gig at GAY and then waited a year to release another single before abandoning it all and moving to Strictly and presenting. Leigh will probably go the same way. It's frustrating to see and understandable in a sense because they worked their arses off in Little Mix but it doesn't exactly encourage me to support them or go all out buying from iTunes and signed CDs etc if they're just relying on their fans to spend money on them and they're not even bothering to do anything to justify a solo career in the first place.
  9. The 11 peak is REALLY frustrating. If she'd scraped top ten it would be so much better PR and to hype her next single.
  10. Yeah I'm sorry, Leigh and the song deserve WAY better than this. How can it only spend like 4 days in the Spotify top 200? To be honest I haven't played the song in a while. It's definitely a bop and something Little Mix would have recorded but I think a male feature (AJ Tracey, Craig David?) on a verse and bigger ad-libs on the last chorus would have strengthened it.
  11. Such a waste of time. Imagine going to the US to do random interviews when your song is out of the top 40 already in your home country.
  12. I didn’t say a top ten single was enough to get an album out. All I said was it was easier to get a top ten single in the 90’s.
  13. Little Mix had Heartbreak Anthem (million seller), Confetti (almost Platinum) and Kiss My (Platinum) after Sweet Melody. But yeah a top ten single in the 90’s/00’s was much easier. All you had to do was arrange a week of TV performances and a CD signing at HMV for release week and a top ten was guaranteed. Streaming has made things incredibly difficult. It’s amazing LM even got so many hits in the streaming era considering they’re a girl group.
  14. New artists with no prior fanbases, yes. A former member of Little Mix? Last year or this year at a push would have been a smart decision but 2024? When Little Mix will be even further into oblivion and Jade/Perrie will have - presumably - released their music too and taken the spotlight? Listen, I like all three girls. All three are talented and deserve a hit. I'm not criticising their talent or their personalities or anything like that. However, I really don't see any of these girls doing a Mel C/Nadine Coyle/Una Healy and really sticking with their music careers past the initial debut single and hype. Do you see any of the three (or Jesy?) performing at small clubs and venues, singing Little Mix songs for the locals, self funding everything and doing promo on local radio stations and This Morning etc? I'd like all the girls to have success but these decisions like waiting a year to drop your solo single, disappearing to America a week later after a couple radio interviews and then telling us the album is 'next year' is already red flags. If she was in the UK all week hustling at every single radio station and TV show going then maybe I'd give her the benefit of the doubt but I feel like Leigh wants the chart success and if she doesn't get it then she'll throw in the towel and move to presenting or fashion like 99% of other ex girl group members and that's why the album needs to come out while there's still hype around her solo launch and before Perrie/Jade come along. Edit - And on watching the clip she says 'hopefully' next year and her body language is awkward as hell. There's definitely not a plan in place.
  15. Sigh. Why are people still making these mistakes? Hype and promo is peaking NOW with the debut single. Does she think in another 6 months to a year that she’ll somehow have MORE hype and interest? Get the album out ASAP or it won’t come out at all.
  16. Their online content in late 2019/early 2020 was always hilarious. They seemed like they were in such a good place. This and their ‘This Morning’ appearance where they discussed beauty tips and the skit where they recreated iconic TV moments (Eastenders etc) were hilarious!
  17. She’s not going to have a global hit. Little Mix had some hits across Europe but their last one outside of Heartbreak Anthem (which just charted in the top 40 in some places) was Woman Like Me 5 years ago. The song isn’t even a hit in the UK! To be fair there’s not much she can do but what about stuff like This Morning, Loose Women, One Show, Live Lounge, maybe a signing in person, a performance at GAY, more radio interviews, YouTube covers or acoustic performance. Anything? Lol. A handful of interviews on the big radio stations isn’t that much promo.
  18. I don’t understand the logic of releasing your debut single then going to America the next week?
  19. I mean, it’s not ‘great’. Let’s not gaslight ourselves. She started off the midweeks as number 3 and she’s already at #160 on Spotify meaning she could fall out of the top 40 completely next week. She was clearly pushing for a top 5 single and this is going to be a letdown for her. (And again, no, this is not me saying she’s a flop. It could pick up. Songs do bounce back, but this is clearly not a ‘great’ result for a member of the biggest girl group this century launching a debut single and had thousands of signed CDs pushing her this high too)
  20. #11. Oh Leigh. :(
  21. Yeah. Really not good. :/ I’m really surprised it’s bombing so badly.
  22. Yesss. (I hate how slow the streaming charts are. Back in the iTunes era you could just follow that live and not worry about other platforms  )
  23. Glad she's still climbing on Spotify. Really, really hope she's done enough for a top ten single. 11 would be so frustrating.
  24. Ahhh that’s so nice.
