The new Bieber album sounds pretty strong to me, which probably means it will bomb now. đ Definitely a number of tracks which could do pretty well commercially. Saying that, Daisies seems like an odd choice to be the focus track. Not sure that would be the most popular album track by the end of the week. Blackpink are too far down New Music Friday. Expect Jump to have a good week still.

Happy to see Glastonbury has helped boost Thank U enough to go gold this week. About time for Donât Phunk With My Heart. Given it sold over 150k in 2005, it seems a very long time to make up that extra 50k. Just shows what a poor choice of lead single that was. Edit: just realised DPWMH is gold. Makes more sense now.

OCC Mid-Year Top 10 reshuffle
+5: Good Luck, Babe! +4: BIRDS OF A FEATHER +3: Pink Pony Club +2: APT +1: Thatâs So True -1: Die With A Smile -2: Messy -3: Ordinary -4: The Days -5: Beautiful Things As much as I love the top 5 of my list, I hope the end of year top 10 loses a couple of these.

Alex Warren & ROSĂ - On My Mind
I prefer it to Bloodline at least, but that's not saying much.

Naked In Manhattan being certified! My favourite from Chappell's album. Any idea on a total for Madonna's Holiday? I know it was certified gold back when gold was 500k 'shipments', but don't know what the actual sales were from the 80s.

Australian (ARIA) Charts get massive overhaul
Whilst I will be glad to see the back of songs like Dreams in the top 50, I am not sure this will create the boost for new music breaking through that they hope it will. Ideally would see more pressure on the streaming providers to include more local artists in prominent playlists, as I am not sure removing old songs from the chart would make a difference to the actual sales/streams of the songs that fill their slots. Not sure how any enforcement on the streaming providers would work in practice still.

Australian Chart Thread - 14/07/2025
A shame Marina did make the album chart this week. Thought she would have enough support in Aus to scrape top 50 given all her previous albums (bar The Family Jewels) have done so.

MARINA - PRINCESS OF POWER
Agreed on I <3 You being the stand out. Feel like it should have been the lead single, or at least pushed before album release. Some really good stuff, but also some notable filler. Overall, I would say I am enjoying this more than I did Love + Fear, but prefer all other albums. Hoping it grows more as a whole with more listens.

Sabrina Carpenter Manchild - predictions
This has been such a weird year, I find it hard to call. Anything less than top 3 would be a shock, but not confident of #1. I donât feel it is as strong as her three #1s last year, but it could grow more. I am hoping it does big numbers still to shake things up.

Great to see I Canât Decide getting certified. Seems to have become a viral hit in recent years after not getting the single treatment at the time. Now the Scissor Sisters fifth biggest UK hit and will probably overtake Laura and Filthy/Gorgeous in the long run.

Girl Groups - BPI Certifications (Singles & Albums) [including duos, non-pop acts]
Every time I see this thread pop up, I expect another Saturdays certification to show up now, followed by disappointment when it isnât. đ We were truly blessed with those three weeks in a row.

Fewer commuters having to go into work and listening to music. I mostly listen to music while on the way to and from work. Expect many others are the same. Will see how much streams climb after today, but the Spotify charts are a depressing sight regardless of the numbers. So much old stuff, even beyond 2024. Whereâs the next âTaylorâs Versionâ release when you need it.

What will be the next number 1?
I voted something else, more out of a hope something new blows up rather than any of the other options get it be default through Ordinary going to ACR. Not a fan of Bloodline, so really hope that doesnât take over and stick around ages.

Miley Cyrus - Easy Lover
Sounds alright, although not quite as strong as End Of The World. Looking forward to the album. You never quite know what youâll get from Miley.
-
Chloe Qisha - Modern Romance
Enjoyed all of Chloeâs stuff that I have heard. Sex, Drugs & Existential Dread is my favourite single to date. Hopefully she breaks through to the charts soon.

Was hoping Tylaâs Bliss would make some kind of impact. Not a good sign for her having a chart career beyond Water and Push 2 Start.

About time for Slow to finally be certified!

Pop Track of the Week 2025: Week 19
Out of those options, it has to be Bliss. Sounds like it could be a huge summer song if given the right support. Not included above, but shout out to Moncrieffâs Something To You.

Have you seen any Eurovision artists live?
Been to Loreen and Dadi Freyr shows in Bristol (Luna supporting Loreen) + Charlotte Perelli at Bristol Pride like Liam. Do need to catch Sam Ryder whenever he is in the area again.

Ava Max - Don't Click Play
I suppose that is one way to get publicity lol. Glad we have an album announcement still.

Sub-2 minute hits of the 21st century POLL
Speed Drive was the only one I felt was worthy of a vote. None of the others I would go out of my way to listen to.

New Release Schedule: Friday 18 April
Looking like another quiet week for big releases. Bar Fontaines DC and potentially Addison Rae, I canât see anything from this week immediately taking off. âšď¸ Would love to see people get behind Nelly Furtado of course, but after their last albumâs performance, I have low expectations. EDIT: lol, forgot about Lana. Given âHenry, come onâ came and dropped away pretty quick, I would expect the same with Bluebird but to a smaller scale.
