Spotify definitely feels quite messy now. So many songs coming through with new peaks yet they are practically all old songs. I get this just reporting what people are listening to, but this surge seems abnormal. Arctic monkeys new one nowhere to be seen but multiple fact songs in the top 50. Hoping the TikTok influence calms down ‘soon’. On that note, great to see Until I Found You climbing again.

Would be an interesting chart if we we end up with multiple versions of the same song top 40 by next week. Who knows if inteeest in downloads etc hold up without a campaign behind it.

It is funny looking back at some of the flop/underperformance comments at the time. Can’t underestimate Ed’s ability to promote and sell over a long period. Those 99p cds for chart stability were a good investment. :lol: Rooting for Kate to be top 5 by end of year. On the other hand, Mr Brightside is too close to the top 20 for my liking.

Great to see its iTunes sales holding up so well to keep it there. Don’t believe the big top 40 tracks anything else, unless I am mistaken?

#21 in Sweden and #45 in the Netherlands week 1. This matches the peak for Work Bitch in the Netherlands and beats it in Sweden. Highest charting song since Scream & Shout there. Should see more European chart positions trickle through over the weekend.

Yeah, I am expecting it to slip to 4 or 5 by Friday, but given Britney’s last time top 5 here was Scream & Shout, that is a great achievement. Let’s just hope it has some legs and stabilises/climbs up over time. Playlisting will be key.

One Republic have always seemed a bit like Maroon 5 in that with the right song, they could always get another hit. Counting Stars in itself was a surprise hit initially. Glad this has done well, but as others have mentioned, they have put our better material in the last year. Shame Elton/Britney is dropping daily still, especially with such low numbers at the top of the chart. Hopefully it stabilises soon. Apple at least are giving decent support.

Top 10 looking pretty fresh! An exciting few weeks with all the different #1’s coming through. After the top 10 however… Shame Demi couldn’t get a higher position, but it doesn’t feel like the label have really put any effort into promoting this one. Was expecting Panic to at least scrape top 40, but clearly not had the right support either.

I guess it helps that this is basically Elton's follow up to Cold Heart, so there is an element of carry over interest from that which is still very visible a year on. If it was just Britney, I doubt it would get such an instant playlist placement.

Definitely feels like one of the biggest music headlines of the year as her first release after the conservatorship. Let’s the hope the press translates to chart success. That complex song is really nice - totally get why it is doing well on Tik Tok based on what they have recently helped do well.

This is such a nice breezy summer tune. Would have liked more solo parts for each like cold heart did but you can still hear both at least and the ad libs are nice. Hopefully an extended mix comes out at some point as it does feel a little short.

So hyped for this! Have avoided listening to the leaks so far as I want to make sure it is the final version I am hearing for the first time. There definitely seems to be an air of hype beyond the fanbase, so I really hope this does well for Britney (and Elton I guess :lol: ).

They haven’t really supported Demi at all this campaign so I am not surprised. Guessing the label haven’t given Spotify enough inc£ntiv£ to promote it.

I don’t think Madonna has ever been a streaming success, or even done that well on download sales for albums previously. The physical is what most fans will be waiting for and this will now include the 50 track deluxe that isn’t on streaming yet. It is a remix album still so who knows if the hardcore fans will care as much as they would a studio album or standard compilation.

Hoping for Madonna and think it has a good shot, especially the deluxe version which seems pretty comprehensive of her career. With Steps I guess it will come down to how devoted the fanbase is, but is there the same demand for a new greatest hits. I don’t know. Not expecting much for Demi. Panic and Aitch are the two I think could go either way.

I saw on billboard that she had 5 number one singles there. Shame it doesn’t feel like Olivia has had much of a legacy in the UK beyond Grease and a couple of her 80s singles when she had a decent country career with big global hits before Grease.

So pleased to see Britney doing something new o her own terms, even if it is s a cover. A video would be great, but the music is enough really. Cold Heart's video was animated and it worked. Cute if the video is Britney with Taron acting as Elton again.

Order has been restored

Here’s hoping for a big clear out in two weeks time.

First Aid Kit have been around for at least a decade. Their last album went top 3 so they do have a respectable following. Definitely more of an album act than singles though.

Not sure Kasabian would have the same impact now the singer has changed than they did previously. Great if the fans have stuck with them. Think this will be a tight race but not expecting great numbers for any of them right now.

Hoping the remix for RUTH that is used in the show gets a release like they did for the Journey song. Hopefully Metallica and Journey can hold up/improve over the week. Bit annoying One Kiss is increasing again while Potion is still being pushed but I guess Tik Tok don’t really care about what is the current single.

It has definitely gotten much worse lately. Has been bad for years but their archive section is just not working at all right now.
