  1. If nothing else, it is nice to see What Else Can I Do with a chart position rather than starred out. On another point, it makes me grateful for ACR seeing how high Bad Habits and HeatWaves are.
  2. Bastille ended up much lower than I was expecting. Figured they still had enough name power to go top 100 at least given the sales climate. :(

I personally would love to see this. It is the only reason I would consider buying a cd single or download these days, if it is exclusive and not on streaming (at least for an initial period of time). This was one of the main reasons post album singles did well if they do just release the album version of the track to radio. Not keen on the current trend of artists releasing 4/5 singles before the album and then the campaign being over unless an album track takes off. Rarely listen to new albums after the first couple weeks these days where there is no incentive to do so. As a fan, I would rather get an exclusive track than a machine signed CD cover.

Such a consistent album. Really hope this does well for Foxes and gets her some new fans.
  5. Not surprised by the immediate performance for TJATQ. Even with Taylor on it, the track was never that exciting. If it was, there would have been more sustained streams from when the album came out (like Traitor or I Drink Wine). If this ends up going top 10 after the signed CDs are out, I would consider that a success for Ed. Not many people can still get big hits after the album has landed these days. Curious to see how Bruno holds up over the week should half term have any effect.
  6. I agree with you there. No one likes seeing figures retrospectively changed (we have enough with OCC inconsistencies around pre-1994 sales) but because they left those 3 years alone from before the revised the ratios, they now stick out like a sore thumb. With that aside, this does highlight how much streaming has benefitted classic hits and Christmas music. Expecting our decade end list to be made up around 50% pre-2020 tracks if things don't change soon.
  7. Big opportunity lost for Adele not performing Oh My God. Guessing they are holding the world exclusive performance for the Grammys. I Drink Wine has been performed multiple times for TV now so although the performance was strong, have nothing new. Hoping to see Little Simz climb more as I found her performance one of the more exciting ones of the night.
  8. As Bjork said, definitely not just young children listening to this on repeat. It wouldn’t be doing the numbers it has if it didn’t have cross generational support.
  9. Same, zero interest when I was younger but appreciate it a lot more now.
  10. Great to see Darren back after such a long break. Still listen to his last album regularly.
  11. Crazy how well Cold Heart has done in AUS. Parts of the chart do look pretty dated now with songs like Levitating still top 20. Making the US charts look fresh.

    Thanks for sharing that Jim. Thought I would check these against the 'millionaires' pure sales list they released Sept 2017 to see the growth since then. Obviously physical/download sales are in the pan but you get an idea of how songs have held up and which have a better legacy than others. 1 Bohemian Rhapsody - 2,620,395 (+79,791) 2 Mull of Kintyre - 2,088,617 (+2,434) 3 You're the one that I want - 2,082,478 (+10,443) 4 Rivers of Babylon - 2,036,598 (+3,942) 5 Mary's boy child - 1,896,786 (+11,512) 6 Imagine - 1,734,228 (+19,877) 7 Summer nights - 1,650,959 (+10,287) 8 YMCA - 1,527,375 (+13,698) 9 Heart of glass - 1,337,102 (+14,786) 10 Merry Xmas everybody - 1,323,644 (+17,078) 11 Bright eyes - 1,228,143 (+5,913) 12 Don't give up on us - 1,170,110 (+2,739) 13 Another brick in the wall - 1,163,149 (+16,601) 14 Dancing Queen - 1,161,343 (+28,055) 15 I feel love - 1,148,668 (+21,157) 16 I Love You Love Me Love - 1,146,665 (+614) 17 Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick - 1,136,140 (+6,771) 18 I Will Survive - 1,097,385 (+15,347) 19 Sailing - 1,076,564 (+12,526) 20 Don't Go Breaking My Heart - 1,043,466 (+14,224) 21 Don't Cry For Me Argentina - 1,034,894 (+2,598) 22 Save Your Kisses For Me - 1,028,657 (+3,293) 23 I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing - 1,018,936 (+2,496) 24 Under The Moon Of Love - 1,018,003 (+3,528) 25 Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round The Ole Oak Tree - 1,015,219 (+3,561) 26 Eye Level - 1,009,012 (+955) 27 Long Haired Lover From Liverpool - 1,007,469 (+808) 28 Amazing Grace [bagpipes version] - 998,509 (unknown) 29 Mississippi - 980,383 (unknown) 30 My Sweet Lord - 975,434 (+14,873)
  13. Great to see the Meatloaf impact on Spotify. Hopefully they hold up over the week. Surprised the live version of IWDAFL is the bigger one.

Moana has built quite a cult following which wasn’t as immediate on the films release, as evidenced by the biggest song not even breaking the top 50. Even still, I was also expecting Let It Go to be higher where it had the commercials breakthrough. Under The Sea being higher than anything from The Lion King is also a surprise.

Thanks for sharing Ben! Will never understand why Mull Of Kintyre was so big. The rest of the top 10 feel like they have more legacy than that one.
  16. A much weaker list than the other set including the worst 'hit' of the year. :puke2: +12 United Kingdolls ~ UK Hun? +10 Little Mix ~ No +08 Dua Lipa ~ We're Good +07 Rag'n'Bone Man ~ All You Ever Wanted +06 Billie Eilish ~ NDA +05 Olivia Rodrigo ~ Jealousy, Jealousy +04 PinkPantheress ~ Just for Me +03 Kelly Clarkson and Ariana Grande ~ Santa, Can't You Hear Me? +02 Justin Bieber ~ Ghost +01 Neiked, Mae Muller and Polo G ~ Better Days -02 David Guetta, MistaJam and John Newman ~ If You Really Love Me (How Will I Know) - just plain awful and unnecessary
  17. +12 Billie Eilish - Oxytocin (hopefully will get the single treatment this year and blows up) +10 Duncan Lawrence - Arcade +08 Camila Cabello - Don't Go Yet +07 Raye and Rudimental ~ Regardless +06 Bella Poarch - Build A Bitch +05 Little Mix ~ Love (Sweet Love) +04 Years & Years ~ Starstruck (Kylie version made this) +03 Sabrina Carpenter ~ Skin +02 P!nk ~ All I Know So Far +01 Taylor Swift ~ Mr. Perfectly Fine (Taylor's Version) A lot of those in the full list I couldn't hum if I wanted to. Top 4 should definitely have been bigger though (Duncan preferably in his victory year but glad he had his moment in the spotlight still).
  18. Ah so close but not quite enough for The Weeknd. Will see which holds up better next week.
  19. About time. Hopefully this shuts JL up. None of this is helping public opinion of her or her career.
  20. I was actually expecting Christmas to be a bit higher than this. No doubt will end up in the top 50 of the decade unless people suddenly stop putting his album on repeat every December.
  21. Probably the best thing about the new Boba Fett show (so far) is the theme tune. Nice to see it having some impact on here.
  22. Expecting a big climb for Be My Baby after Ronnie Spector’s passing. R.I.P. What a voice.

Glad they have done something about this. The Army are going to have to get more creative now. What a great week for the top 10 with all these new peaks. The chart does still feel 4-6 months behind the rest of the world though, if not for WDTAB.

I am hoping for a BRITS performance. We haven’t had a live Oh My God performance yet (as far as I am aware), so there is definitely scope for it to get a big boost for those who don’t follow streaming services/bought the album yet. Watermelon sugar showed a song can still blow up post album, though rare. Time will tell.
  25. New Years helping some songs jump back in. Next week will be interesting when those fall back down. Crazy Fleetwood Max are so high on the singles chart. Guessing it is on some ad or is currently big on Tik Tok.
