Something I am very grateful to Dave for. One Central Cee song in the top 3 is bad enough. Kylie keeps moving in the wrong direction!

Obviously the sales aren't terrible, but a shame Noel isn't doing better. Actually liked all the pre-release tracks which probably means the core fanbase aren't so keen on the commercial sound. :D

The BPI website has now updated with the 2nd June certifications. Nutbush City Limits has now been certified silver. Sadly it is the Ike & Tina version rather than her solo version, but still good to a certification has come out of the surge in interest in Tina's back catalogue.

I think she has played it right with her time away. Not that long ago people have forgotten her but close enough to drive curiosity streams and afford strong radio/stream playlisting. Here’s hoping this album will be as cohesive as Sour.

Loving this in full on first listen. Sounds great in the sun. I hope this does well for Louise.
  6. Yeah, the first compilation misses all her output after 1991, including her solo version of Proud Mary. It is also more than double the length which no doubt helped to cover the extra 12 tracks needed to impact separately. So pleased we did at least get two tracks top 40 on the singles front. Was concerned after those huge plummets a couple days into the tracking period. Shame for Proud Mary though.

I just wish Central Cee wasn’t involved. All his chart output so far has been dire. Hopefully we will have some big hitters in the next few weeks.
  8. Come on Dannii! :cheer:

This. Ice just sounds bored/tired on their verse. Completely kills the energy. Padam Padam keeps creeping closer. :cheer:
  10. Olivia is my guess for a potential release that could do it. All depends on if the second album material is as strong as the first. Whoever does do it next, needs to be a streaming force. There has been a clear absence of acts being able to have an album bomb like Harry and Taylor did last year.

Those drops for Tina already.

Better In Time has finally gone Platinum! :cheer: Lord knows if and when any other tracks reach this milestone. Guessing Happy is the next closest.
  13. This edit of Daylight is a big improvement on the original. Gives the track that extra bit of life it needs.

The UK really needs to move on from As It Was. I am sure even Harry is sick of it at this point. Come on Kylie! #queenofstreams :cheer:

Kylie and Blur doing better than Anne-Marie. :o
  16. It is #2 on the soundtracks chart behind the Guardians of the Galaxy one. Don't think it qualifies for the main chart where it does include score music from the film too.
  17. That Eurovision takeover in the 91-100 region! What a year for Eurovision songs. :cheer: Shame Voyager couldn't scrape top 75. :nocheer:
  18. While I agree in principle, that would be a very tricky thing to implement with compilation albums. Do they focus on the songs and cap those older than a certain period of time? They don't want a newly released hits collection to automatically be handicapped. Or do they put a date on when a greatest hits release gets relegated to ACR after being out for a period of time? What is to stop the label releasing a new hits collection every few years to get around this and still have a high 'selling' release in the charts. I hope they do implement something, but based on Martin's response, I don't see any change being made anytime soon. When the high turn over at the top peters out due to catalogue releases blocking #1s, then we might see some change. Will get worse before it gets better.

A decent climb for Eyes Closed. Much more respectable peak position. Guessing this might be RAYE’s last week as it looks set to leave the top 50 next week (unless I have misunderstood how the Hot 100 works).
  20. Definitely feels like a man’s world this week. I went for Tom, Harry, BMTH and Ed. Suspect Victony will be a grower though.

Good week for Eurovision then with sales so low at the top. Hoping Mae won't drop too much by the end of the week.
  22. To be fair, we made some terrible choices when we did have a show for that, so not sure I trust us there either. It just didn’t translate well live in comparison to the other big pop songs on stage. It wasn’t bad, but just being ok isn’t enough. Really hope this becomes a hit still as that would keep other acts engaged with doing the show for next year. Last thing we need is go to go back to scraping the barrel for songs/acts.
  23. Really hoping we do see a change with getting some backing vocals to support the chorus. Everything else essential is there, but if the chorus falls flat on the night, then I can’t see this connecting with people as it should. On a positive note, I do like the staging and colours. Hoping for the best here.
  24. That clip they showed did seem very weak. The energy just wasn’t there and the da dadadada dai bit didn’t feel elevated enough. Hopefully the full performance is better (will watch later), but that has lowered my expectations for how we will do.

People watching the Ed documentary on Disney plus. That and people noticing he has an album out as others have mentioned. Was hoping to see something for Rita after her semi-final performance.
