I doubt the OCC would approve a request like that and to be honest, I don’t think Adele and her label care that much at this point. The video for the second single is done so no doubt they will be plugging that in the new year rather than EOM. Happy to see Wham are comfortably ahead of Mariah this year and we are seeing bigger boosts for Chris Rhea/Shakin Stevens. Shows listening habits are changing with what songs are most prominent each season, so they aren’t in the same order chart wise each year.

I saw them plug Kiss Me It’s Christmas around one of the ad breaks today. Hopefully we get a performance that week.

Ah that’s good to hear. Great to see it building a reputation outside the UK. I have enjoyed seeing the international Christmas charts and seeing which new territories OMS is breaking through in. Had Switzerland in 2018, the Netherlands in 2019 and Germany last year (where Winter Wonderland had previously been the bigger song).

That top 3 seems pretty secure. Can’t see anything budging any of them for a long time considering how well they each stream still. Expect Shakin Stevens to be in that top 10 within the next couple of years.

Really good news, fingers crossed A list next week. Hopefully enough to help the track go top 75. We just need more playlist placements and the tracks future after this year will be more secure.

It is so frustrating these old playlists on Spotify have such an impact. All we need is for these to be updated like they do all their other major playlists but the biggest ones haven’t had a proper update in the last 2-3 years. For all the bad rep Alexa gets, at least Amazon put new tracks in the mix each year so there is some variety each year.

Is there ever consistent buzz in this day & age though? Streaming has killed that where all the hype comes before release and then fizzles out on release after everyone has binged the tracks in the first week. Christmas taking over has also sped up people moving on (I imagine many people buying the album now are gift purchasing). No doubt there will be another big resurgence during award season in the new year. If previous eras are anything to go by, I would be surprised if Adele didn’t perform at any.

Fingers crossed we see some Spotify playlist updates. Don’t think any of the major playlists have had an update this year. That and more radio (2) playlisting will make all the difference hear. I had given up on it charting so the fact KMIC looks set to at least go top 100 is great.

The reaction from a couple plays on radio 2 has been promising. Hopefully will get a bit more radio support now we are in December and ideally a tv performance or two.

Glad we will at least have 4 platinum albums from next week. Can’t think of any other releases that will get a big enough Christmas boost to break 300k though. Fingers crossed 30 can get to 600k by end of year.

I see If I Can’t Have You now has its own single cover and item on Spotify (guessing other services to). Perhaps being sent to radio? Seems a bit odd to give it a single cover unless they are planning some campaign around it. No radio edit or remixes to date and no announcements that I have seen. Will see if anything comes of it over the next few weeks.

It’s exactly what I expected from Ed/Elton and that’s not a bad thing. Obvious top 3 hit for the next month.

It needs a big campaign behind it to get there. Hopefully Tik Tok can do us all a favour and get it trending :lol:

Both Ed and Dua have featured on tracks for other artists that haven’t taken the charts by storm, so I don’t think the success of the singles can be put down entirely to the other artists. Although not a singles artist anymore, Elton is as established a name in music as you can get so seeing his name with those artists only makes it more likely people will give the song a listen. Looking forward to seeing how much this can sell, potentially biggest weekly physical sales of the year?

Guessing the lack of songs available impacted Olivia, whereas all the others have extensive back catalogues that continue to stream well. Going to be tough for new acts to break though on lists like this.

Same! Felt bad not voting Spice Girls, but those are some of their weakest songs and don’t make me think of Christmas at all. I do feel for all the really old songs. I am sure some are perfectly fine but won’t do well where their generation of fans won’t be on Twitter doing chart polls.

As much as I would love the songs not to dominate the chart, removing completely just doesn’t seem right. Wouldn’t mind an extra level of ACR to 25% for songs with over 20 weeks in the chart or something along those lines.

What an odd decision. To be honest, this makes me worry about new music next year. Can’t see any big projects happening for Leona to then go back to plugging the reissue from the previous year when touring. Another CWL re-issue a year after this one is not going to win her any fans. Let’s see if the Gary Barlow tour does pay off enough for this to go well but not holding my breath.

Timing seems perfect to me. Will get the full month to capitalise on Christmas interest. Campaigning against Ladbaby/charity was never going to end well so this way they have a shot at #1 before Christmas and the song will be established enough by then to have some legs after the Xmas Eve chart. Also means a whole month or potentially strong sales compared to a couple of weeks.

A campaign we could all get behind.

I have accepted things with this release. Would have loved a proper deluxe re-issue with full promo but I don’t think that was ever on the cards. It gave Leona something to plug for the GB tour and was a nice treat for the vinyl fans to get something slightly new. You can see with these sales it wasn’t worth a CD re-issue. Without a proper promo campaign and big songs (based on comments online, the originally planned single ended up going to a different artist), Leona won’t even get a moderate hit again. Think it is clear that Leona is quite happy with her career and not dealing with the global pop star pressures, so I don’t think it can all be put down to her management. Clearly doesn’t struggle to secure private gigs and gets to live the lifestyle she wants so any new music is released on her terms. On a more positive note, I am enjoying the two remixes out now. Champion mix is my preference out of the two, gives the song a bit more life. Still hoping KMIC can end up on some big playlists. Only way it is going to reach a wider audience and gain some traction.

Pretty solid boost here, especially considering it is so low on the major Spotify Christmas playlist. Hoping Kiss Me It’s Christmas can make some impact but don’t think it has been added to any major playlists as of yet. Leona’s team need to cut Spotify a cheque. :lol:

The slow period for new music begins. Time for Christmas music to take over.

If this is an underperformance I don’t know what the measure is for success. :lol: If 30 doesn’t at least match Divide for week 1 album streams it just highlights what a monster that album was. Rooting for an Adele top 3 tomorrow in the charts. Can’t see Easy On Me losing a it’s less now until Christmas music takes over, unless Oh My God gets a proper promo push beforehand.

Ah Cold Heart is so close now! Fingers crossed for next week. Crazy Heatwaves is still climbing, top 5 by 2022? Nice to see Avril scraping the end of the bubbling under chart. Hopefully will climb next week after the wave of Taylor Swift songs calms down/drop off.
