  1. I kinda love how consistent his iTunes performance has been. Billie eilish and other big artists like her can’t ever seem to get to the top yet, Jake does it ease (on day one)
  2. That’s true. Would have preferred it didn’t chart at all than get to 91.
  3. Nice to see Willow looking set for another hit, though her chart history will look a bit weird going from whip my hair to transparent soul
  4. Agreed. Slave is charting so well across Europe it would be a waste for them to not put out a video and give it a radio push at the very least. That good news if volume 2 is this year. Not sure how sustainable their success is but if they can get some additional material out that connects then while there is interest, they might be able to sustain beyond their winning year.

When new albums are struggling to get high peaks, the occ might do something like they did the singles. Until then, I don’t think they care. Could definitely do with a shake up though.
  6. Spotify is really supporting Eurovision this year! The EBU must have sent them a cheque  Great to see still, let’s hope the support continues.
  7. Time will tell if the TikTok users deem any of this year’s songs worthy. Otherwise slim to no chance.
  8. Ah fair enough. Let’s hope it has seen the last of its resurgences now then.
  9. Didn’t expect Body to be so successful outside the UK! Also Dance Monkey on the verge of finally leaving the top 50. Fingers crossed the last time it seen on the chart.
  10. If only it was something from the actual album released the other week. Maybe she’ll get lucky and tiktok picks up one of the tracks in time for her next big release to overshadow it.

Yeah, I definitely recall it being on tv/radio circulation. As you say, no physical release I am aware of so was relying on downloads only late into the album campaign. At the time I know a number of post album singles just had digital releases. Nelly Furtado’s Say It Right being one of the most successful of that period.
  12. I am glad to see DJ Khaled isn’t getting a default high peak peak because of features. Looking like Montero will be #1 again if Billie can’t get past it and Body isn’t having the same impact on Apple. Would be interesting to see where the three are with Amazon.
  13. We just need 3 weeks in a row of crap weather on Friday. It’s getting warmer, restrictions are easing and we got a bank holiday weekend coming up. People are just getting hyped up as the weeks go on.

They have picked some great flashbacks recently. That 2000 flashback has some big highlights in it.

That number 1 turnover :cheeseblock: Guessing this will be the last week of the single week runs. Would love to see Doja/Sza sneak a week in though very unlikely

Thanks! Quite the gap then. Will be interesting to see if Tik Tok helps any other Eurovision tracks make waves in the US.

Love seeing Arcade making an impact in the USA. Anyone know the last time a Eurovision song made the US charts?
  18. Unless there is some legal challenge we don’t know about (eg. Plagiarism claims etc). Unlikely this soon after release but not impossible for a song to get pulled from online services.
  19. New Sza & Doja Cat sounds huge. Expecting this to do well considering how both acts have done on streaming lately.
  20. It is a new mix of a song on their last album and has been out for a number of weeks already. The new mix with Michelle visage will feature on the new album. Good signs for when the new lead single comes out.

That’s part of the problem sadly, it is just us chart enthusiasts that care. These GH albums sticking around forever isn’t ideal, but the top 5 of the album chart has much more movement than the singles chart when you look week to week. Low sales mean more high peaks for new entires, so the OCC get the chart stories from that and artists get a short term ‘win’ for a good peak. If we had Queen/Elton/Fleetwood Mac etc at #1 for weeks on end, they would change rules like they did for soundtracks. They aren’t (yet) so why rock the boat.
  22. It’s on a tv ad
  23. Blame it on our media. Radio & TV won’t touch non-English tracks unless they are quirky or have an English speaking feature. Don’t see them often on uk based playlists too which hurts the streaming numbers.

Duncan Lawrence to breaking through next week! Wellerman also on the way in. Good gains for Ava too. Will see if Olivia can survive new Drake next week.
  25. I think that it is more down to sales being so poor, any spikes are causing dramatic shifts, even with the rolling element of the chart.
