Yes Raye! Promising start for Escapism. Hopefully will make some good gains in the week to come. Given none of the singles/pre-release tracks have made an impact, #40 for Stormzy doesn’t seem so bad.

Here’s hoping RAYE can pull through with a boost over the week. Not looking good if Mariah is already at the top when there is no doubt missing data here and Sunday streams will also be big.

They still have TOTP 2 which still regularly airs that pleases the radio 2 crowd. Most of those acts aren’t charting and even if they did focus on those, they would still have to acknowledge the #1 and big hits to be ‘top of the pops’. Shame the Christmas episode of the old format is gone but it was clearly losing relevance with the acts they were getting and the time slot it was getting. Plenty of big music news headlines this year, so looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

On Spotify yes. Only #62 on Christmas Hits - the biggest playlist. Doing well on Apple at least.

Not sure Christmas nativity season is the right time to plug ‘Bloody Mary’. :lol:

Starting to see RAYE being Christmas #1 as a real possibility at this rate. So pleased for her. Will no doubt be a good boost for Xmas songs today though not sure if it being a Thursday will reduce the impact. Expect Saturday streams will be huge.

The Christmas invasion seems to be happening earlier now. Some clear evidence that rule changes are needed for the holiday songs.

We shall see if a surprise early dispatch happens on the 8th or not with this release…

I get the big Christmas resurgence on streaming each year, but who still buys downloads on iTunes and still doesn’t have All I Want For Christmas… downloaded already. :lol:

Leona is still bagging loads of (what I am sure are well paid) private gigs so doesn’t seem interested in the festival circuit. At least not yet. Really hoping we get new music next year before the tour.

So pleased Raye has managed to stay high despite the Christmas music influx. Expect its peak will be in the new year now but very promising signs of a real big hit for her. Obviously happy Leona is now picking up well. Just need Kiss Me It’s Christmas to sneak into the top 200 as well.

The Christmas lull in big new releases has begun. Will be interesting to see if the new Sam Smith Christmas song does anything after the success of Unholy.

The song is definitely better remembered than its chart position suggest. Seeing it as a win for Leona as a large number of the streams are for the duet. :lol:

What with end of year playlists + the year in recap shows coming up I suspect Kate will get a better boost than Shivers. Whether it is enough to stay ahead is another matter, but I hope so.

As pleased as I am that Meghan is able to get another hit, Made You Look doesn’t feel like a top 10 hit. She has put out far better stuff in recent years.

Party In The USA being the top song here for 2009 just feels wrong. Poor GaGa.

It didn’t do levitating any harm. Why wouldn’t you plug at a time tv gets the most attention and it would fit so well to any promo adverts. Not expecting a huge resurgence like that but enough to keep the album selling over the season. One of my faves so happy it is now getting a video.

Ah right, forgot about Ed. We shall see if Sam causes a similar problem for Taylor.

Those album sales!!! Probably going to be the biggest numbers for the year. So pleased for both Taylor and AM. Hopefully 150k+ for Taylor by the end of the week.

On one hand, it’s great to see Hold Me Closer being so stable. On the other hand, quite sad seeing it’s peak here compared to the official Uk chart. A reminder of the benefit ACR can provide clearing out the dead wood.

Arctic Monkeys and Tom breaking through! Good to see Lewis cracking the top 100 now. Hoping Unholy can climb another spot next week. Sam Smith and Kim Petra’s challenging for a US #1 in 2022 was not on my bingo list, but all here for it.
