This will change overtime as we are seeing legacy songs improving year on year. Will be interesting to see how it looks in another 5 years time.

As a Pokémon fan I gave it a curiosity listen and couldn’t make it past the 2 minute mark. I do like some of Post’s stuff too (more stuff like circles, not so much Psycho and that sound). Don’t think this appeals to either group. Fingers crossed the Katy Perry Pokémon track will be more of an ear worm.

Exactly, they have had entire album campaigns underperform here then have a big follow up era. Really hard to call with M5. I like the song so hopefully it will improve.

I would prefer to see the original Rasputin getting the sales than this new mix, but happy to see Boney M getting any attention in the streaming age.

It was out for valentines to be fair (at least the video of the recording), just taken a bit of time for it to gather enough social media attention to make any impact. Considering it was a nice treat for the fans I think it is doing pretty well.

Not that I imagine anyone wants to stream it but Bob the builder’s can we fix it is also not on streaming. There are definitely others from before 2006 that aren’t available, though can’t think of the names off the top of my head.

I don’t know about that. Bar Olivia, streams on the whole are low. Low streaming at the top end for new music means the consistent classic tracks have better positions in the top 100 rundowns. Admittedly getting back in the top 50 is no doubt helping it gets some extra streams from those that just listen to the top 50 playlist. Regardless needs to hurry up getting in the top 100 on Spotify. Shame it is struggling to make any significant gains.

Agreed. Rockferry was more northern soul anyway. Maybe is still a tune. I don’t think it would have done any better chart wise if released a few years later, just unfortunate sales were so poor when it did come out. This thread/top ten did make me revisit her singles. Had completely forgotten take my breath away and crickets sing for anamaria. Both very nice pop songs.

The song just doesn’t have the same crossover appeal, standard male pop star song. Drivers license clearly goes beyond fan base listens based on those monster streams. Having said that, I still expect it will go top 40 in the next few weeks if it does get playlist support as it isn’t a bad song.

Ah that's good to know, always seemed crazy that it wasn't made available in one of Leona's biggest markets, especially with the Childish Gambino feature. Fingers crossed we get a 10th anniversary version. A number of tracks have become regulars on regional xmas playlists so not just OMS doing well from CWL seasonally. :dance: Agreed with those mentioning I See You, was a huge missed opportunity. Has done well considering it was released part way through the year. With Avatar 2 on the way, hopefully that will drive interest in I See You. You Are The Reason has at least kept the list a bit more up to date. Would like to see them do another duet/feature together.

I know he isn’t at peak popularity now but I also expect a bit better for bieber considering the low numbers needed to peak high currently. I am sure he will climb over the next few weeks still as more awareness of the track picks up but really shows the lack of interest there is right now for new music (outside of chart fans like us)

Same goes for certain Spirit & Echo album tracks like SCYHO & Homeless. 3. As with the European Echo tracks not being available globally, the US tracks Fly Here Now and You Don't Care aren't available here. As such, I have no stats on them. 4. Normally the Xmas songs get replaced with the big hits of the year ready for NYE. As this new year will be very different without the big parties, guessing people aren’t putting on the big playlists as much. Most of the country is on lockdown too so the commuter streams are gone.

I guess the fact those songs have only been available since 2013 gave them less time to rack up airplay which I imagine made a big difference to this chart. Gabriella Cilmi being the top song released this century is a surprise still, though I do admittedly hear it a lot this time of year.
