The rule change makes sense. Seems like the right time for Zitti E Buoni as it was on the verge of leaving the top 100. Far exceeded all expectations I had for the track. Fingers crossed Good Without goes ACR next week. Had more than enough time top 40.

It is on the deluxe version, but even then the way album streams are done will spoil any boost the big songs do where the top three are weighted down. I am impressed Fly Away is becoming a hit as she was looking set to be a clear one hit wonder, though the fact fly away is doing well because of Tik Tok, it doesn’t indicate Tones has any solid fan base. If so, we would have seen more impact when it came out last autumn/winter.

Over half my team at work booked Monday off due to football and I expect similar situations across the country. Seeing the stats tomorrow will give a clearer indication if people are having a longer break or if the low numbers were an after match of late night football on a Sunday evening.

It is frustrating to see TikTok raising awareness for all these old hits, but not when it completely distracts from the new stuff. Marina has had this with both Bubblegum Bitch and Hermit The Frog blowing up on TikTok, yet nothing for the actual singles this era. Really hope Tom’s album manages to hold on to top 10, found the singles have all been top quality this time round.

Especially when it opens the floor for another album track charting when G4U’s streams drop enough. The album has done very well and as more of the general public hear different tracks it only keeps it afloat longer :D

Yeah, it certainly is not on Spotify. I can’t see some of the others which are available ever picking up enough sales/streams to get there (e.g. islands in the stream, it’s Chico time) so will have company for a good while. Hopefully Slow will get some 20 year celebrations in 2023 to push it over the threshold.

On the contrary I would say it screams single. It’s not too far removed from Driver’s licence plus I think it is quite relatable. Really hoping Maneskin can hold onto that #4 position though I know that is unlikely with three lions due to a big surge in sales today.

Thanks for this, some interesting stats though seeing the sales themselves is quite depressing. Shame for Lawson as well, really liked the singles this era. They have made some good pop over the years, so not sure why nothing as really clicked with the general public.

I have heard of people buying alternate cover cd/cassette/vinyl singles but a download seems a bit pointless. Mad they have a fan base to re-purchase the same track over and over to this extent. Duncan edging closer to top 50! :cheer:

Wasn’t the 5k number for those distributed to HMV and Amazon, so not including the two signed 99p cd batches from his website? It does seem a bit desperate, especially considering those people that bought the full priced unsigned ones from HMV/Amazon and the 59p drop. I echo what some others have said about midweek price drops so early on after release. Stuff like that only impacts the fans that invest in supporting a song/album on day 1. Appreciate he cares about the charts though, not many artists show a passion for it like us chart followers. Wish more of my fave acts did follow it a bit more and made an effort when they see an opportunity like this. :lol: All here for Jack Savoretti getting #1 on the album front. Not sure if that lead will be enough against Olivia’s streaming for the remainder of the week.

I feel like this one was pretty obvious from the get go to be honest. The song did well because of the viral video and tik tok. Don't think anyone was that fussed about the person behind the track, similar to Man's Not Hot a few years back. Kinda glad that this is looking more set to be a chart battle between Ed and Olivia rather than a run away first week. I am loving Bad Habits, though it doesn't sound like most of his other material so I can understand why the fanbase might not be as fussed about this release.

Surprised Butter has held on as long as it has. Still hoping Dua might be able to leapfrog Olivia eventually as it is still picking up on radio. Love to see Duncan Lawrence climbing and Willow creeping in at the tail end. Hopefully Maneskin can start coming through next week once all the Migos tracks clear out of the bubbling under chart.

This. Obviously streaming has inflated older sales more but it isn’t like the physical error where singles would suddenly stop being produced/distributed/sold. Curious to see how far Good 4 U can go at the top. Highly likely Ed will knock it off but nothing ever seems certain these days. Really happy for Maneskin, though I am admittedly not keen on their cover at all. Don’t see what is special about it personally. Any success for Eurovision linked act is great to see nonetheless

No sign of Olivia Rodrigo’s The Rose Song then? I know it isn’t an official single but that didn’t stop her previous HSM track charting from curiosity streams.
