  1. Was by far the best performance for me and vocals were spot on. I also get why the song itself did so well with the juries. A lot more depth than a lot of other songs this year.
  2. I think it may have been for some of the more conservative countries. The massive codpiece was also a bit much. Being a married gay man obviously I had no issues myself, but I can understand see why it would put some off. A lot of Social media comments I have seen were negative on it not being suitable for families. :( Beyond the performance, I just don’t think the song was strong enough. Still better than half the songs they did better than it still, but when have the public votes ever been down to that.

Thrilled Loreen is coming to Bristol on the tour. Hoping it includes a lot of the Heal album. Excited to hear the new single. I just hope it gives a satisfying finish rather than getting cut off too early like Is This Love.

Surely with those streams, even if there is an element of auto play, people clearly are not hating it so much as to skip it. We haven’t seen these kind of consistent numbers before from any other release we know has been boosted by auto play, so it is clear the success goes beyond that. We are about to head into multiple days of sunshine, so would be surprised to see Espresso back over 1 mill again within the next few days.

Not Kendrick climbing to #2 on Spotify. Was hoping these diss tracks would have started fading away by now.

I do find a lot of the album better than I Wrote A Song and do wonder if she would have chose it as a single if Eurovision wasn’t in mind. Having said that, it has given her a hit that is clearly still getting some streams by it getting certified last week. Whatever comes next, I hope she continues with pop.

Fortnight starting to ‘collapse’ now. I expect Kendrick will drop below again as the week continues still. Shame for Dua. Hopefully can recover a bit after today with the commuter streams picking up again after the bank holiday.

Seems clear on both platforms what the top 3 Taylor tracks are now people are cherry picking their faves rather than just listening to the album start to finish. Don't get the love for Down Bad yet, but might need some more listens outside the album to click. So pleased for Sabrina. Even if autoplay is boosting the numbers, it is clear there is a lot of love for the track and expect Espresso to hang around the top for a long time, especially when we have some more consistent sunny weather.

Not CoCoMelon with that album of smash hit nursery rhymes climbing in to the top 100 :cheeseblock:

Feels like we are looking set for the ‘freshest’ year end chart in many years. Obviously a lot can change and I am sure those classics will maintain good numbers, but healthier sales at the top should give more current hits a better chance to stick around.
  11. Well I was way off after all haha. We shall see if this can beat 30’s opening sales.

If this is the moment Mr Brightside loses its almost permanent feature in the uk Spotify top 50, I will love Taylor forever.

That’s a crazy level of growth! Hats off to Taylor, it’s clear the hype is nowhere near fading. Will be interesting to see the change tomorrow.
  14. Yeah…. I am not getting carried away here. My estimate is more between the 180-200k mark, which is still phenomenal. Always nice to see high album sales but I don’t feel there is that much demand to push to those lengths. A lot of the album is quite samey and these aren’t all 2 minute tracks that you can listen to multiple times in quick succession.

Impressive streams for Sabrina. Shame it at a time there are multiple big songs out, with Taylor joining the group this week. Would be a comfortable number one on many other weeks with those numbers.

At least with both the single and double albums available separately, not everyone will be listening to the full set. I certainly am not planning to check out part 2 until I have had time to take in part 1. 31 tracks is just overkill for one sitting. Not that much else out this week of interest based on new music Friday, which I suppose should come as no surprise.

Thrilled for Sabrina to start so well! Feel like this one will end up being everywhere this summer.

So ready for Lil Boo Thang to hopefully go ACR next week. Shame for Muni Long though. Love that classic R&B sound.
  19. What a bop! Absolutely hooked after just one listen. This better smash.
  20. Genuinely thought this was Kelly Clarkson when the song started. Her tone sounds completely different! Nice song though. Hope it does well.

Whilst I can see why Taylor would want her music on TikTok, doesn’t this cheapen the case for the label getting artists a better rate from song use on the app? Would have thought given Taylor’s previous removal from Spotify because of what they were paying, she would have backed her music being off TikTok until they budge here.

I am going between 750k-1 mil region. Would be shocked if the biggest song did less than 700k, but not convinced the appetite across the general public for the new album is as significant as some people are thinking. Time will tell.

Agreed here, I am quite disappointed to be honest. This just sounds like another generic dance track using a recognisable sample to me.
  24. And yet it has taken this long for him to get his second top 10 single. Even Eat Your Young with the pre-release hype didn’t scrape top 20, with that still being his best chart performance since 2015. Not many acts can survive a gap in hits like that and then come back challenging for #1. It certainly wasn’t in my bingo book for the year. Here’s hoping bodyguard stabilises and climbs back up.

The Beyonce album has only been out a few hours, so album bomb effect hasn’t even started yet. Whether that is enough to boost Texas Hold will be clearer by Saturday.
