I suspect they’ll stick with ‘Marianne’ now until the album is out in two weeks.

I’d only ever heard the vision Radio 1 play until Wednesday when Jack played the full thing on his show. The edit they normally play definitely doesn’t do the song justice.

I just don’t get booting off Ezra Collective and Steve Lacy after 5 and 6 weeks respectively, while there’s two songs now on 10 weeks! Maybe ‘Tongue’ isn’t the official second single, or it was announced just after the playlist meeting?

Hoping the Fontaines songs get swapped this week. Also expect Chase & Status to be A-listed either this week or next with their album out on the 9th.

Confirmation that the deluxe ‘Cruel World… So It Ends’ is out 13th November. ‘Too Cute To Be Lonely’ is fabulous.

The person who updates the playlist must start later now! Looks like Jungle and sombr (finally) are gone. Cloonee and co A-listed as is Taylor obviously. Rachel Chinouriri might be gone too.

I was expecting NBT to be A-listed, but was more thinking next week when their album is out. sombr still there is madness. They keep him on but drop SIENNA SPIRO just as she was challenging for Number One. Beabadoobee and Wasia Project are nowhere near big enough to have ‘tracks from…’ playlisting.

I was in the minority that doesn’t enjoy ‘Dance Dance Dance!’ (the vocal really grates on me), but this is absolutely fantastic!!

The lack of big hits at the minute has at least made the playlist quite interesting, with so many songs on the A-list that have had no commercial success.

They go through a random phase of giving C-list songs power intros. I remember the one from 2022, and I’m sure there was another brief period maybe a year later - though it may well have been around the time ‘Daises’ was playlisted. The audio wizard who does them must’ve had some spare time!

It’s only for six weeks (thankfully)

They have to choose their TOTW a few days prior (and I think it’s from a list rather than just whatever they fancy), but if someone is covering for a full week it makes no sense for them not to choose their own TOTW. A producer likely gets in touch a few days before to ask what they want.
