As much as I’d love Rose Gray to be added, I’m not expecting her to be added as they rarely bother with her unfortunately. The biggest chance was just after ‘Just Be Bodies’ was TOTW on breakfast, but hope has faded.

Ashe being removed already is a bit of a shocker. I guess she’ll get high recurrent plays. Still feels like a lot they could add, I’m thinking Chris Lorenzo, KETTAMA/Prospa and Holly Humberstone. The latter in particular I was expecting today, she’s been getting a few spot plays and it sounds like a slam dunk Radio 1 favourite. Her deluxe is out on the 13th November so I’m hoping she’s added next week and it goes C-B-A.

‘GAS’ was hottest record last night - it might be the best thing I’ve heard from them since ‘Apricots’.

After repeated listens, ‘Where Is Gone?’ and ‘Mimesis’ are definitely my favourites, though it’s a very high bar. I enjoy ‘Japan’, but can see it grating on me, especially if it does become the song pushed to radio.

He’s just gone and dropped a whole album!

I wish this was released a few weeks earlier as a proper single, with ‘Marianne’ released earlier too. It really deserves the spotlight, but has instead been drowned out by other songs on the album.

Such a waste to pick TOTWs that are on the A-list.

Decent, but I’ve heard it teased that often I’m a little disappointed! I reckon it’ll go Top 40.

‘Mimesis’, ‘You Miss Me’ and ‘Intimate’ are my early highlights. Looks like they haven’t really decided on what song to really push. I had expected it to be ‘Where Is Gone?’, but perhaps they don’t think it’ll stick as well with it being so different. ‘Mimesis’ is probably the most radio ready.

So back down to 15 A-list songs after a random week of 16. Swapping the Chase & Status songs so quickly seems a bit unnecessary - though ‘Carnage’ is a banger! Surprise instant add for Rachel Chinouriri. Not a shock but amazing to see the ‘Tracks from’ treatment for Fontaines. Obviously ‘Where Is Gone?’ will take over next week. Hope that Interplanetary Criminal can climb to the B-list.

Radio 1 played this three times yesterday and played the full length each time which was great. Hopefully the radio edit doesn’t butcher it too much.

They’ll either do a ‘tracks from…’ Fontaines’ album or switch straight to ‘Where Is Gone?’

Really looking forward to ‘Where Is Gone?’. Reckon it’ll be their biggest hit yet, maybe Top 10, though the Monday release will likely hamper that.

Quite a unique run for Jorja Smith. 16 songs on the A-list, do they really need to keep Charli xcx and FISHER on there? Hoping Holly Humberstone is added soon.

It’s such a tune. Very funny hearing Mollie introducing it on Monday with her best Jack Saunders voice.

I suspect they’ll stick with ‘Marianne’ now until the album is out in two weeks.

I’d only ever heard the vision Radio 1 play until Wednesday when Jack played the full thing on his show. The edit they normally play definitely doesn’t do the song justice.

I just don’t get booting off Ezra Collective and Steve Lacy after 5 and 6 weeks respectively, while there’s two songs now on 10 weeks! Maybe ‘Tongue’ isn’t the official second single, or it was announced just after the playlist meeting?

Hoping the Fontaines songs get swapped this week. Also expect Chase & Status to be A-listed either this week or next with their album out on the 9th.

Confirmation that the deluxe ‘Cruel World… So It Ends’ is out 13th November. ‘Too Cute To Be Lonely’ is fabulous.
