‘American Girls’ has grown on me, but ‘Pop’ is the best on the album and is perfect for radio. Also pretty certain ‘The Treadmill’ has been removed. ‘Rein Me In’ getting a lot of spot plays, but also some other Sam Fender songs (‘People Watching’ and ‘Spit Of You’) getting plays.

I think it’s just ‘American Girls’, ‘Pop’ and ‘Aperture’ that have been played in the tracks from… so far. ‘American Girls’ has had three plays, ‘Pop’ has four.

‘Pop’ is the best one on the album for me. That chorus is brilliant.

Well this is very catchy. It got the Hottest Record treatment on Radio 1.

Looks like ‘Rein Me In’ and ‘The Treadmill’ are effectively jointly playlisted this week.

It was around this time last year that they started messing around with the number of songs on the playlist. Went from 15/15/12 to 15/14/10 - though I think at one point the C-list dropped to just 7 songs.

Unless the BBC Sounds app is wrong, ‘To Love Somebody’ wasn’t played at all on Saturday, and has been played twice today - albeit there’s the 00s/10s/20s show, but it wasn’t played on the afternoon show. Not sure if that’s just an oddity or there’s been a slight change in policy with the increase to 16 A-list songs. Though a quick glance does suggest the other A-list songs are still being played every three hours or so.

I do love ‘Two Hearts’ but I wish they added ‘Starlight’ a few months ago.

‘Two Hearts’ is quite understated but I’m enjoying it. ‘On & On’ was the other standout of the new stuff.

Madness if it’s still there. It’s been an average hit as well, nothing special.

Yesss to Holly being A-listed quickly! You’d imagine ‘Think About Us’ being there is a mistake. Looks like Sabrina won’t make the A-list this time.

Meanwhile the ‘Baby Steps’ power intro is the best they’ve had in a long time. Likewise I enjoyed the ‘Elevate’ one.

It’s hottest record on Thursday.

It’s going mad on TikTok. Been doing the rounds for a while, but only officially released last week.

I think this sounds quite instant… Missing a big finish though.

‘Talk To Me’ is so much better than ‘Dopamine’. I reckon it’ll be A-listed too. Didn’t think sombr was quite that big for an instant A-list add. ‘Feel This Way’ is a banger so happy to it supported. Hoping Holly Humberstone completes a quick ascent to the A-list next week.

‘Stateside’ basically equalling the record this week with the two week freeze over Christmas. Nearly as baffling is ‘Think About Us’ getting a 12th week! Surely keeping JADE on for another week would’ve made more sense? Adore the new Holly Humberstone so glad she’s added already. Have a strong feeling she’ll be A-listed with this one.

That Holly Humberstone song is so, so good.

If you haven’t heard any of her other stuff before, I’d recommend ‘The Walls Are Way Too Thin’ and ‘Scarlett’ to begin with.

Yeah I love this. It’s very instant, whereas ‘Die Happy’ took a little longer for me. Still manifesting that she’ll get a hit at some point.

It is quite ridiculous for ‘Stateside’ to last so long. Yes it’s only just getting big (but not that big), but they could easily just have it high up on the recurrants instead.
