Big post-Christmas hit incoming?

Nice touch adding the average. I suspect that will only rise over the next few weeks as we head towards Christmas. I’m not surprised they’ve dropped the second Gracie song. With ‘That’s So True’ at Number One, they’ll want to have that on the highest rotation.

This is quite meh for me. Far too much Quavo. Much prefer ‘GIRLS’ and ‘APEROL SPRITZ’.

I get the point around ‘Disease’ being a more Radio 1 type song but I’m still really surprised she was insta A-listed. Glad Rudimental have finally been added and nice to see Confidence Man rise but my god that song should’ve been added a few months ago as it’s the perfect summer tune (it came out at the start of June!). I didn’t expect Gracie Abrams to jump C-A but it seems like something they’re doing more of recently - only have to look at the OUT section to see Tate McRae do similar and that seemed even more surprising. I actually thought McRae would get another few weeks on the playlist. Would be typical if the one Fontaines D.C. song that I really get behind this era ends up stalling on the B-list.

Oh yes this is great. Do wish it was slightly longer though, feels like it ends quite prematurely.

Really looking forward to this. It sounds fantastic.

I should add that when I heard ‘Die With A Smile’ earlier, it was the second song after the top of the hour which is usually a recurrent song. They then played a song on the B-list (Fontaines D.C, which is great by the way). So I suspect it has been removed, but still basically getting the same amount of plays it would on the B-list.

A quick scan on BBC sounds shows ‘Die With A Smile’ is still getting B-list number of plays this week.

That Mendes song is actually quite decent so shame he’s been booted already. Aitch went C-B-A-A earlier this year but also had two weeks during the Big Weekend playlist so not quite the same. They’re just trolling with Gaga/Bruno. Surprised they haven’t added Rudimental yet.

I meant five weeks exactly rather than the songs with the longest runs. But I guess anything beyond three weeks is unusual.

Great week. PAWSA and Addison Rae moving up. Andy C and Kylie added, plus Lady Gaga moving up. When was the last time a song spent five weeks on the C-list before moving up? Must be a very rare run.

Bit surprised Post Malone has moved up late, thought he’d be gone this week. That Rudimental track is a tune. I imagine it’ll be added next week. I’m not sure they’d move Gaga/Bruno up if they made #1?

I already want PAWSA to climb to the A-list, but even more so now that Matt Edmondson has tampered with the Radio 1 power intro (in the link after they played it on today’s show, around 20 minutes in).
