Are these anniversary editions of Black Parade and Back to Black? There was me thinking Fontaines might have managed the rare feat of an album spending more than a week at No.1.

So have the original physicals from expectations already been added? Must admit I thought it would be closer between the top two. Nice at Lana getting another top 10, thought it was going to be more of a slow burn but I guess it could still grow.

It’ll be interesting to see if any vinyls come in for Taylor and how much. I feel like Olivia/Chappel have a good chance of holding on unless the streams drop off a lot during the week. Hope Lana can hold for a top 10, I feel like this one might be a slow burn though. Nice to see a lot of new entries though.

The Justice et al song is pretty decent, gives me money for nothing vibes with the guitars. Expectations has been stuck in my head all weekend. I feel it’s got the best chance to dethrone Taylor, given they’ve got physicals.

Oh wow, I hope Zach and Lana smash it stateside, Lana deserves a No.1 hit to her name somewhere. Turning into quite the week for releases, hopefully there's some more big drops to come the next couple of weeks. Hoping Expectations can hold up well the next few days, would be great for Chappell to keep her top 10 streak going.

Yeah I feel Taylors team will bring the CDs forward at the last minute, shame Noah's decent start didn't hold, should stay top 40 though. Good start for Fat Dog, hope they hold their top 5 spot, such a good album!

I’m not sure I follow that, as you say it’s the top 12 streamed tracks which would now include the new ones.

Nice bump for Noah’s tracks, would love it if they kept going. Ouch at Taylor, patient zero should get a bit of a boost for the next update I’d think. She’s got the no1 nailed though I’d say with the physicals (plus the first huge day).

The new Taylor songs actually sound better than half the initial tracks on album imho but I won’t be going back for a second listen. Can’t remember what Ophelia opened with on streaming on Spotify but I’m going to say patient zero will probably be around the million mark or just above it.

Interesting jump for Willing and Able over Orbiter. Either way glad to see Noah is climbing. I think this is exactly what she’s planning for next is to get 21 No.1s so we’ll get more push for the singles. Not suprised Taylor is doing an extended version of LOASG given it’s still got the Grammys to go and will help give it some promo for that. It’ll be interesting to see how the new one does streaming wise, it’ll be no1 easily with the physicals alone.

I'd thought Choosing Texas was on ACR so it didn't enter my mind as a challenge, I feel it will sadly win unless a campaign gets going for Dolly. Four country songs in the top five is quite the feat though.

Because they’ll limit the number of tracks with the 3 track rule. Which I get it for stopping album tracks but I think it’s overkill for artists who might have several singles doing well simultaneously

Amazed to see how much Dollys catalogue is doing I think Jolene will probably leap to No.1 on the next Spotify update. Hope she can claim at least another couple of new top 10s but I doubt it thanks to the occ, maybe 9 to 5 might be one that does gain top 10 status after all these years.

Ah poor Jungle was hoping they might get a career best with Sunshine but alas doesn’t look likely. One of the most underrated groups around in terms of mainstream success in the UK imho.

I think the BBCs problem was timing (being on a Friday night) and it had some weird underground vibe which I don’t think particularly sold it very well. If they chose a Sunday evening they could have revived some of that X-Factor live show performances vibe and had the singles/albums run down, the latter feeding that nostalgic Sunday chart show. It’s also probably the one time of the week most people would actually sit in and watch TV vs a Friday night. I honestly think if done right they could successfully reboot a modern version of TOTP. I’d argue there’s an appetite for it more than what people think there is.

It's been touched on but I agree, I think there's just a lack of visualisation anymore of the charts and a who's who of the music world at the same time. We've gone from having TOTP, CDUK and other music promotion shows to nothing, X Factor as pretentious as it was, did sort of step in for TOTP for a while and helped launch successful singles/eras but that ran out of stream and also went. Another major nail in the coffin I think was getting rid of the Sunday evening chart show, which in my mind was a British staple as a lot of my family would listen to it back then and argue about who they thought was deserving of the top spot. Additionally I think for anyone who does follow the chart but isn't as involved as everyone on here is, probably don't understand the concept of a song being No.1 for 8-9 weeks and then suddenly dropping to No.10 because ACR has kicked in. There's very little transparency from the OCC on any rules to the general public and its not really mentioned in the chart show.

I think they'd wait until after Rein Me In is finally booted from No.1 for good before they change it but, I don't think they will as its a mess of their own creating really with ACR not doing what it should do. Allowing songs to dodge going to ACR is the key issue, it's meant to stop songs having lengthy runs in the top 10 and instead we've actually had more songs spend 20-30 weeks there than before it was introduced. Yes there might need to be rule to help freshen things up, however as it stands, its very poorly executed and also overly complicated imho.

I reckon Madonna is probably going to get close to 50k when streaming is added even if it’s not super huge, I reckon she’ll have decent numbers still. Is there anything that could stop Rein me In having a 17th week next week?

I think this proves why variants should be banned from the charts, people get all catty about it even though they go out an do the exact thing they complain about.. It's just all very desperate in my eyes regardless of who it is. In the grand scheme of things it doesn't represent anything really, especially in the streaming era and its certainly not an achievement worth recognising.
