Friday Chart Predictions
Thought Mel might have got past Kneecap by now, at least the top 3 is on lock and a best ever peak wise on the albums. It’s not a bad album either.

Friday Chart Predictions
Noah could potentially nudge just past 50k in the albums by Friday especially if his streaming numbers continue to hold. Shame Doors is just outside the top 10, I need to have another listen of the album, I feel it’s a grower.

Oh nice! I must admit I was expecting Noah to drop a lot more so I’m chuffed to see it’s holding up well. Maybe Doors could clinch a top 20 spot at least this week, hopefully it’s enough to keep the album ahead of the foos too.

It’ll be interesting to see Noah it holds up, I only finished listening to it today. I think heavy is a good description. Lol at RMI going back to No.1.

Should The UK Singles & Album Charts Have a Recurrent Rule where Older songs and Albums are disqualified from the charts
By removing older hits you allow more chance for new music to break into the chart though, which is one part of the issue I would say. I think another factor which I thought of the other day aside from the compilation of the chart itself, is there’s no platform to promote music from, like we had in previous generations. Ok there’s tik tok but I don’t think it’s something you can bank on for breaking out a song. In some ways I feel we’ve gone back to that 70/80s format of where songs climb gradually over a few weeks and artists take at least a couple of eras to breakout into mainstream success (Olivia/Sabrina/Sam) but unlike then there’s nowhere for anyone to get strong consistent promo. I think we need something of a cross between TOTP and the X Factor live shows (but not so cheesy and full of lip syncing) to help give songs/artists a push as if it’s done in the right way I think it would work.

Friday Chart Predictions
Hope Titi Me Pregunto holds in the top 20 till Friday, such a bop that totally passed me by in 2022 but been obsessed with it the last week. How many weeks has reign on me had in the top 10 now? Must be close to 30 surely? I do like it but it is a bit crazy it’s now heading to no1 after all this time.

Amazing for Bad Bunny, I do love DtMF it’s the first song of his I liked. I’ve since become obsessed with some of his older hits since the Super Bowl. Love to see it doing well, would be happy if it went to No.1 on the singles chart.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s intentional so she can try and sneak a week at No.1 in the US. Bad Bunny has probably thwarted a chance of her doing it this week following his Super Bowl performance.

Should The UK Singles & Album Charts Have a Recurrent Rule where Older songs and Albums are disqualified from the charts
I think there needs to be two charts, a singles chart only and a songs chart that incorporates everything without any rules. Once a song has been charting for say a year or 18 months it gets removed from the singles, but likewise if an album track gets pushed as a single it can transfer across. Additionally and quite controversial perhaps I think AirPlay is needed for the chart in the absence of people buying records. Unlike the US it should be a select bunch of stations that focus on playlisting new music routinely and it only has a short duration to the chart like a couple of months so it doesn’t get stale. I think record labels would jump at this as a way to push something up the charts and make things more competitive. ACR also needs to be changed so that the drop isn’t so harsh for one and secondly there shouldn’t be any dodge rules, like give them 12 weeks to peak and then if it’s made the top 10 then that’s it. No resets or second reruns unless it’s going to actually repeak, if a song still manages to hang around for months in the top 10 as it’s that big then so be it. Albums are also a mess, a lower ratio for streams and remove the downweighting rules. The greatest hits don’t need removing, the problem is the occ double count any streams from any act toward a greatest hits even if it’s not even been listened to so that just needs to stop. Also soundtracks should be brought back into the albums as well.

Was surprised at how well Noah started on day one but glad to see it. Hasn’t clicked with me yet but hope he manages to nab a top 10 placing this week, seems to have stabilised reasonably well after the initial drop.

US Hot 100 – 01/24/2026
Ah thanks for this, I probably should have just looked myself. It does sound almost as arbitrary as ACR is at times and open to any song re-entering at any point, the case by case basis might explain why certain country songs haven't dipped out as mentioned before perhaps.

Mayhem ● 7th album
What is Mayhem on now sales wise for the UK, must be around 200k? I would disagree and in Sabrina's case I think that fact she's done that for over 18 months straight is probably where it has burned out but I think its personally refreshing to see an artist do that. Harry did something similar with Fine Line and it worked pretty well for example as that only lasted just over 12 months and then he wrapped it up. The album has been a great comeback for her and its great to see all the nominations, but I do feel its the most underplayed album of all time with the lack of singles. Fingers firmly crossed she wins one of the big ones at the Grammys and also I'm hoping she bags a BRIT too.

I don't get the rules from billboard as why are Christmas song allowed to re-enter each year when they don't technically qualify? Is there a massive loophole or is them just looking the other way again because a record could be broken. Just seems a bit contradictory that relatively new hits are banished after x amount of time (which i get and think its fair enough) yet the same old songs can chart each Nov-Dec.

Gaga receives two nominations at the 2026 BRIT Awards
Really hope she wins something, I think she has more chance for the Artist award given the song is voted for by the public. Would be fitting if she got song though as she was the recipient of international album I think. So she’d be the first to get both international song and album.
