  5. The singing of the colours of the rainbow ruins the song for me - it’s just decent instead of great :(
  6. Jack Your Body should be appreciated as it would have sounded at the time - totally fresh and new. I do prefer Love Can’t Turn Around however.

  8. It says in the write up there are 8 Christmas songs in the top 10, but there are 9?

This is/was my MP - my first ever by-election! Annoyingly, this will be 2 elections for me then this year, the second with a boundary change as Kingswood is disappearing as a constituency at the next general election (and I will fall under Rees-Moggs current expanded constituency. Interesting times!

  11. Trump will win the US election easily (sadly and worryingly). UK election in the Autumn (September I reckon) and Labour will just scrape in.

  18. 2. 220 points Greg Lake - I Believe In Father Christmas In the runner up spot is the gorgeous I Believe In Father Christmas from Greg Lake from Emerson, Lake and Palmer fame. The highest placed track from the 1970s, shame it could not go all the way. yfY4b1NszpY Which means the winner is.....(predictably) 1. 267 points The Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale of New York Not quite a landslide but a decisive win here. I have made my feelings known about this song already so I will shush, but here is your winner! j9jbdgZidu8
  19. 3. 202 points The Waitresses - Christmas Wrapping Well this is a pleasant surprise! Breaking the 200 joint barrier but never a top 40 hit. One day, one day!! nud2TQNahaU
  20. 4. 182 points Wizzard - I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday Deservedly highest of the 1973 Christmas classics, Wizzard just miss out on the top 3. Not quite the highest 1970s song in the countdown though..... IJPc7esgvsA
  21. 5. 172 points John And Yoko And The Plastic Ono Band With The Harlem Community Choir - Happy Xmas (War Is Over) Happy Christmas Kyoko, Happy Christmas Julian. I always thought that was Yoko and John until I actually listened properly! Lovely anti war song, helped considerably by the Harlem Community Choir. I still prefer the Idols version :kink: flA5ndOyZbI
  22. 6. 158 points Saint Etienne - I Was Born On Christmas Day The highest 1990s song on the list and rightfully so. Also featuring Tim Burgess off The Charlatans. HSSgfE4doxw
  23. 7. 152 points Jona Lewie - Stop the Cavalry Ooompa pa and dub a dub a dub dub! Not the highest anti war song in the countdown, but a great track from 1980. rDBfGrfUuug
  24. 8. 146 points (more votes) Brenda Lee - Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree Now this is a classic I can get behind! I first loved this thanks to Home Alone but it is since become quite the chart staple and finally made it to the top of the US Hot 100 a couple of weeks ago. TFsZy9t-qDc
