They are on a ROLL with the sketches this week! The unconscious bias digs in the Traitors one how unhinged is this lengthier Weekend Update also...! Riz Ahmed was the host I knew least about beforehand yet he's the one I've enjoyed the most. That rap in the DJ segment!! I've praised the musical guests so far but Kasabian sounded really ropey in that first performance 😳
  2. 'SAOKO' also love those choices for Bowie, Florence, Lily and ABBA upon first glance ❤️
  3. Katy Perry’s ‘The One That Got Away’ is up to a new peak of #114 🩷
  4. Currently giving this a go as the singles have been hitting for me too and how blissful is 'Nightswimming'
  5. 'Back to Black' is such a haunting song. I've been revisiting the album in general recently after Mark Ronson's BRITs medley reminded me how strong a body of work they created together. 'Dancing On My Own' has really crept up on me over the years; Robyn has a knack for a synthy 'sad banger'. It feels like quite an influential record sonically with recent hits like 'Trustfall', 'we can't be friends (wait for your love)' and JADE's 'Plastic Box' adopting a similar sound. Agreed the less said about the Calum Scott cover the better though x 'Back to Black' was my preferred choice of the two but I only gave that six more points than 'Dancing On My Own' (+40 vs. +34) so still satisfied with that winner. Thank you Rollo for a terrific job organising this and presenting the results as always!
  6. Spotify has finally updated Good to see this in the top 100 now: 93 The Long Faces - Jane! (+23)
  7. Farewell HAIM and Troye </3 Josh you had a brilliant run there! Thank you for reminding me of 'I Know Alone' as I have a whole new level of appreciation for it now. My favourite HAIM song that didn't end up appearing yet is 'Falling'. Jonjo you also did a great job with Troye. My favourite of his that didn't show up yet is 'Easy' although I'm glad the IN A DREAM EP still got some representation. Happy to see Bowie through, especially as it means ABBA aren't the only retro act left standing. I guess 'Space Oddity' probably would've been the safest bet for that round but at least he still has that as a future possibility now.
  8. This album charted at #36 very good going as she's never even appeared in the U.K. top 100 before!
  9. This is RAYE's best single since 'Escapism.' for me quite easily - shame it didn't make the top 10! I guess there's always The Simpsons Movie 2 next year if Hans Zimmer fancies creating a 'Spider Pig' sequel... 😅
  10. 'Midnight Sun' and Milky will be a great summer soundtrack in a few months! A choice indeed to skip the former this week of all weeks so pleased it made the top 20.
  11. Lots of CAPS in that album chart! This week was absolutely wild for albums, with those from Fcukers and Slayyyter coming out on top as my favourites The top 40 including an 'American Boy' mention in 'Stateside', featured artist of that song Kanye and 'American Girls', oh my
  12. Olivia Dean and Rodrigo coming to co-exist in the top 40 soon!
  13. I feel like I should appreciate RAYE as a balladeer more, as she has a great voice, but I think her midtempo songs are actually my favourites
  14. 'Golden' in two chart histories there with Harry and HUNTR/X back-to-back (Harry's 'Golden' feels a lot more well known than a #26 peak!)
  15. Not much of a music video effect for 'Elizabeth Taylor' in the end (saw it re-entered Spotify at #101) but not surprised as it was just a compilation of Elizabeth herself 'The Fate Of Ophelia' is still my favourite from this era by some considerable distance ❤️
  16. Great to see a new peak for '(When You Gonna) Give It Up To Me'! On the subject of Keyshia Cole, I was watching a video countdown of the most streamed songs of 2006 the other day and saw her song 'Love' has nearly a billion streams?! That has passed me by entirely but I see it didn't chart in the U.K.
  17. Your "dirge central" comment earlier is very apt here
  18. This peaked with the Poundland mention
  19. I feel like my whole life has been leading up to this revival after having a Groovy Chick themed bedroom as a kid x What a classic
  20. Happy b2b2b2b2 years of this elite pair
  21. Funnily enough I saw earlier that 'B2b' was released exactly 2 years ago today! Little did we know how big the BRAT era would be *.*
  22. Oh wow something upbeat sombr our saviour
  23. The Smooth FM-ification of the chart show continues
  24. They should mix things up a bit with the salsa version 💃 Bad Bunny even has a tenuous Easter connection xo
