  1. Ten points for 'News At Ten' feels correct *.* thanks AH Gold for the love 🩶
  2. Thanks for introducing me to a Young MC song that hasn't been tainted by Mr Schue rapping
  3. Thanks Dobbo for my second highest points so far! Back in the top 10 yay.
  4. Thanks for the points Dandy! I've heard that Alphaville song before but totally forgot about Cappella sampling it until it was mentioned in the thread. It was so obvious upon relistening! Then the silver medal in those votes was the opposite situation - Young MC borrowing from 'Theme from Shaft'
  5. Ha I clocked Chez right away on SyncTube! That cheeky denial xo Great song anyway. My suspicions for this one are either Bré or Julian also!
  6. Happy that 'News At Ten' is top 10 right now and was even briefly in the lead! I lowered my expectations after the consensus at the listening session was just that it sounded like 'Turning Japanese', a fair comment I found the song when trawling the 80s top 100 archives a couple of years ago and it came back to me when wanting to send an act who had just one top 40. Thank you to Mango, Rollo, Scene and Severin for the points so far - especially Scene for top marks 💗

My Girls Aloud Blu Ray arrived over the weekend but totally forgot that it could show up here! Nice to see them at #11 on the Blu Ray chart / top 40 overall.
  8. As mentioned in the voting thread, I am familiar with the Nirvana song 'Love Buzz' (love the Bleach album) but had no idea it was a cover! So that was a fun discovery. I liked the original version even if it'll be a weird adjustment now, much like the original 'Venus' by them was, but that became my favourite iteration in time.
  9. Oh, off to a great start with the reveal as I liked that Helen Reddy song a lot! The instrumental reminded me a bit of 'Magic Fly' by Space which is high praise.
  10. Hype! Expecting a flop on my hands this time but hoping my 12 could be a dark horse.
  11. Oh these pictures are stunning:
  12. Hi Piran! Glad you think so, it's my second favourite on the album overall after 'Headphones On', so I clearly gravitate towards trip-hop Addison the most <3 thank you for commenting 💗 Hello Sergej! Haha, she has really found her lane with this album 🥰 so pleased for Addison that it charted as high as #2 *.* thank you for commenting 💗
  13. Hello Sergej hope you're good! Unsurprisingly we have a snap #1 album this week *.* happy to see the beautiful 'Times Like These' entering also.
  14. Hello Piran hope you're having a good weekend so far! Happy to see 'Fame is a Gun' advancing to your top 3 plus 'Headphones On' and 'Times Like These' entering 😍 love trip-hop Addison. My favourite song from your throwback chart is of course the beautiful 'One Last Time'!
  15. Thankfully this has now been corrected! My Blu Ray arrived yesterday 💗
  16. Yep Akon for me now too!
  17. Week 44: I haven't been too crazy about the last couple of Streets singles but 'Don't Mug Yourself' is my favourite since their debut. Love the urgent production and vivid scene setting in the lyrics Not so keen on the lyrics of 'One Love' (e.g. the "city streets" / "hip-hop beats" rhyme takes me out of it a bit) but fair play that it's one of their signature songs now I heavily associate 'Shiny Disco Balls' with Now 53! A quirky penultimate track on there... I like the bouncy house production a lot. 'Six Days' is a good final top 40 single for DJ Shadow. I'm glad we have UNKLE to keep up the DJ Shadow-adjacent universe for a bit longer even if he had since departed that project; they have a 2003 top 40 hit that I am fond of. The Justified album is another one that I associate with my very young years as my dad had it on CD he would always recite the Clipse rap from 'Like I Love You' pretty well, I should test him all these years later lol. I remember the music video from the time and I was transfixed by Justin's moves and general star quality. He navigates his falsetto really well on the record too. The Neptunes of course deliver with their funky production laced with hip-hop grooves and Spanish guitar. Shame it didn't quite start his solo career off with a #1! That song would be my favourite of this batch too.
  18. I also had no idea that All Saints were so close to being denied! Glad they got there, what a slow journey to the top. 'Angels' and 'Avenging Angels' next to each other *.* The Vanilla - 'No Way No Way' performance on TOTP has altered my brain chemistry tbh
  19. They're song #8 on NMF!

The ‘Britney’s daughter’ comparisons now extend to where their debut albums peaked in the U.K. tbh Btw ‘Diet Pepsi’ didn’t get a reset in the end! These were her singles chart positions today: 23 Fame is a Gun 44 Headphones On 61 New York

Goddison snatched a #2 placing in the U.K. albums omg !! intrigued to see the sales breakdown
  24. This has risen to #23 in the U.K. today so is now Addison's second highest peaking single here
  25. Wow go Blondie 'Heart Of Glass', 'Sunday Girl', 'Atomic', 'Call Me', 'The Tide Is High' and 'Maria' is one of the strongest collections of #1s I can think of
