  1. 'Love Story' for me too in early 2009 and I'm pretty sure my first listen of it would've been on the chart show! I do remember a friend being obsessed with it at the time though and trying to shoehorn it into a presentation we did.
  2. BJSC 174 ResultsgoneMUNE - AMNESIA 25th place | 153 points Our top 10 streak had to come to an end at some point but we're glad that goneMUNE got to be part of an excellent final nevertheless! 'AMNESIA' finished in 25th place with 153 points. This is the fourth time that we've landed in this position, following: 'Sentient' by Perturbator and Hayley Stewart all the way back in BJSC 84, plus more recent picks in Joanie's 'Kerosene' and 'Kill Tone' by Odd Nosdam. 25th is now our joint most common position, along with: 2nd, 3rd, 8th, 12th, 17th and 26th. I wonder what will finally break this tie... 2nd would be lovely! It was also revealed that we placed 7th in semi final 1, with 76 points - not bad at all. The latest YTD update shows that we're riding high in 3rd, so 2025 remains a success story so far. The majority of BuzzJack really said "thank you for the music" to Debbii Dawson as she took the crown with ABBA-esque 'You Killed The Music'. This is the second winner in a row that didn't quite make our votes, but we're excited to fly back to Bøtanikkä for sure. Congrats once again! Our own favourite this time was courtesy of long term allies Persephonia, who unleashed the excellent gothic doom track 'At Races' by Messa. This finished in a respectable 16th place. Jadakissnia's silver medal went to Model/Actriz, whose 'Cinderella' was a big pre-contest favourite, but somehow became even more loveable within BJSC 174. Stream Pirouette. We passed on the 4th place baton from the last two editions to Scotland 2 this time, who were rewarded greatly for this standout choice. Our podium was rounded off with the ever reliable Minuit Machine. Their darkwave delight 'Hold Me' finished in a solid 14th place for Aeroche. Jadakissnia alumnus Hante. was formerly a member of Minuit Machine but departed the project before this song was released. Thank you to Ajanaeda for your infectious, enthusiastic hosting. These were our BJSC 174 final votes in full: 18 PERSEPHONIA • Messa - At Races 15 SCOTLAND 2 • Model/Actriz - Cinderella 13 AEROCHE • Minuit Machine - Hold Me 12 CUMULONIMBIA • Litku Klemetti - Tour De France 11 TERRA AVIUM • KASHIWA Daisuke - Ice 10 SÉYETANA • Igorrr - ADHD 09 KLUMINICAN REPUBLIC • Orbital & Tilda Swinton - Deepest 08 WHY SO SIRIUS • Xina Mora & Metrika - 666 (Demonio) 07 PALMYRA • ESSIRAY - LOVE TYPE 06 THELONIA • Deep Thrills - Truth Before Dare 05 MACROMIA • Jadu Heart - U 04 BRONZIL • MØ - Keep Møving 03 COR LUPUS • Momma - I Want You (Fever) 02 SKALL • Burial - Boy Sent From Above 01 NELIÖNOIR • DEBBY FRIDAY - 1/17 Thank you to these nations for the following points in BJSC 174: 15 - Pestolia 13 - Bronzil + Kylienips 11 - Cumulonimbia 9 - Aelandor + Scotland 2 8 - Herbilore, Land of DW + Terra Avium 7 - Persephonia 6 - Dobago + East Rukahavian 5 - Aesthetica, Danæviia, Elëdan, Kathaldazia, Neliönoir + Séyetana 4 - Aeroche + Cheiron 1 - Singerpurear + Utopia Next time we're going for something that has been described as electronic, indie sleaze and glitch pop, bring it on <3
  3. Agreed that it's like picking a favourite child went for 'Rain On Me' which felt wrong!
  4. Right better start catching up! Week 39: The aggressive, disturbing lyrics of 'Cleanin' Out My Closet' are a difficult listen so I don't blame you for putting that one last. Eminem has some great darker moments in his catalogue ('Stan' particularly stands out to me) but agree that this one is a miss. Ooh Busted have arrived! My dad bought their debut album and I used to rinse that CD in my room a lot before school. In 2002 I had two female neighbours who were both a bit older than me and they used to squabble over who could claim Charlie from Busted as their 'boyfriend'. I don't think I was too bothered about whoever they parasocially assigned me from the group as a 5-year-old, lol. Back to the music and 'What I Go To School For' is the weakest link of the singles run for me, agreed it's not too interesting musically and the lyrics are not for me either. But they definitely have better to come! Today I learned that Oxide & Neutrino sampled Kraftwerk's 'The Man Machine'?! Obviously classic production but I think I need to immediately scrub some of those lyrics from my brain, especially the "slapper" and "Napa" rhyme I posted this quite recently in the #7s rate thread but I discovered that Aqualung song via 'I've Been Secretly Falling Apart' by Owsey, Jernalism & Resotone, a beautiful song that heavily samples it; this gave Chez a bronze in BJSC a decade ago sadly that version has never been on Spotify, which lead me to the original more, which is also wonderful. 'Just Like A Pill' is my top pick of this section as well and my favourite P!nk song overall 😍 I remember discovering it while at a sleepover, we played SingStar and I was immediately hooked on the electric feel of this song. I soon realised that my parents owned the M!ssundaztood album and it became an early highlight of my music listening. It's surprising that 'Just Like A Pill' was as late as single #3 in the campaign but better late than never, an excellent second U.K. #1 for her *.* love the vulnerability and inner strength on display throughout. That determined chorus packs such a punch!
  5. Having a browse of her store on my laptop now and I'm obsessed with the cursor turning into her! That and one of the bundles including a sticker sheet feels very 2000s throwback.

  11. Impressive for Calvin on Spotify! 15. Blessings (+16) 119. Feel So Close (+20) 166. We Found Love (+4) 168. Summer (+22)
  12. Well done both for a 39 each! Round 1: 30 (The Move, UB40, Billy Swan) Round 2: 33 (Leo Sayer, Chicago) 3-in-10: 1 (Lessons In Love)
  13. Måneskin's case was interesting, where they won Eurovision with 'ZITTI E BUONI', but then two unrelated songs 'I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE' and 'Beggin' blew up around the same time, thanks to TikTok having their pre-existing catalogue to mine after they were thrust into the spotlight. That came into my head first as I remember tracking their progress closely and both songs were definitely in the Spotify top 5 at the same time, albeit not climbing quite as slowly as Sombr.
  14. This segment is perfect BuzzJack bait!
  15. Albania blew everyone out of the water for me! Then Sweden a distant second.
  16. The melody of Switzerland's pre-chorus reminds me so much of Adele's 'Turning Tables'!

  23. Hey Piran, hope you're having a good week so far Great to see 'Zombieboy' entering this week! It's my favourite album track on MAYHEM so would love it to become a future Halloween staple. Some great throwbacks this week too like 'One Kiss' which takes me right back to summer 2018!
  24. I was curious about these kind of runs as well and noticed MIKA has 72-OUT twice in a row in his chart history: 05/12/09 Mika - Rain {72}->1 27/02/10 Mika - Blame It On The Girls {72}->1 Spin Doctors also have: 29/10/94 Mary Jane {55}->1 08/06/96 She Used To Be Mine {55}->1
  25. Oh yes I noticed this on the Global chart yesterday unsurprisingly TikTok related.
