  1. Thanks so much for posting the list while Dan is away, appreciate it. And have a good holiday Dan :)
  2. Do we not get the daily Spotify chart rundown posted here anymore, it was such a godsend.

Yes Better Than Today only peaked at number 32 but I think it had a lot to do with her label not knowing how to release post-album singles in the digital era. I remember Dermot asking in her interview on XFactor when the single was released and she said it would ‘be out very soon’ even though it was already available to download on the album.
  4. I’m surprised Leona’s One More Sleep hasn't reentered on Spotify yet. Is that because the biggest playlists are more Americanised and so she’s not on them?
  5. Praying for a boost for DWAS, I just want to see it at #1 at this point.
  6. Amazing Girls Aloud scored so high. But I’m happy nonetheless.
  7. All I want now is DWAS to get a week at number 1. If it has a sales increase and avoids ACR it should do it because Taste will probably only decrease now. But Sailor Song is catching up so it might not happen. Either way a number 2 peak would be great.
  8. Was really hoping for a clear out at the top so Gaga/Bruno could go top 3!

If we know what the pre 1994 sales figures are why can’t they just be added to the totals for all songs?
  10. I can’t help but feel as though Charli x Billie should’ve come further down the line in the campaign. 360 and Apple are just starting to smash globally and now the attention will probably be shifted on to Guess and we won’t see as high peaks for the others.
  11. Shame Jade didn't have more radio support.
  12. So sad! Maybe they could just put whatever the next manager’s name in and re-release that next time.
  13. Was this just a lucky coincidence that this took off when she had the release of 21 coming up or do we think the label had something to do with the decision to play it constantly that series? Maybe they accepted label money in return for heavy use on the show.
  14. Did Kesha miss the top 200?
  15. How much do we think Boyz has sold at the bottom there?

Not sure who you’re referring to but I don’t see the problem with people wanting to ask questions or clarify things.

If we know that it sold 327k prior to 1994 why can’t the OCC just use that data? Do they not have all of the figures pre 1994 or something?

I’m surprised Endless Summer Vacation didn’t hit gold months ago. Flowers didn’t help the album that much but I suppose it also didn’t get much promotion.
  19. I’m pleased for Beyoncé but it’s frustrating because she had so much better material that didn’t do as well due to her own release tactics. Her first solo UK no.1 since If I Were a Boy being … this … is hard to conceive but I guess her star power is a lot of the force behind it now.

I don’t think Jess was ever going to be a challenger for number 1 anyway.
  21. It’s also featured in the new Ewan McGregor film which is also called Bleeding Love.

How prominently does it feature? Would probably need to be significant to a particular scene or something.

Yeah they really should have gone for Outta My Head as a single. I still think a ballad was a good idea as the lead as it is what she was known for but it needed to be more impactful than Happy.

Totally agreed on Glassheart and Outta My Head being singles. I think they had that pop/top 40 crossover appeal and showed her as more than just a ballad singer. I think Glassheart and Echo would’ve had more long term success if they had released those. I actually really liked Happy at the time but looking back it wasn’t the huge comeback hit they needed, it certainly didn’t have the instant appeal of Bleeding Love. Other mistakes: - passing on Burn and We Found Love, I suppose they did end up with the right artists but I think they’d at least be small hits in Leona’s hands. - delaying Glassheart from autumn 2011 to spring 2012 and then again to autumn 2012 was far too long of a wait and people just lost interest. - not getting her a supporting act placing with a bigger touring act in the US, I know she was lined up to support Christina Aguilera in 2010/11 in the US but after that fell through they should’ve found another opportunity - not pushing Run in the US in 2008/09, it was an fairly organic smash in the UK and Europe. There was so much buzz for it at the time and I think it would’ve done better in the US with more promo instead of I Will Be - not doing more with I See You, it was the theme song for the biggest grossing film of all time for Christ sake - allowing Better in Time to miss out of number 1 in the UK due to the mess up with the double A side
  25. Yeah I can’t see why they would shelve it when it was already filmed, maybe they weren’t happy with the outcome.
