Has anyone noticed that last week’s midweek singles update has been restated? I recall Danceteria Afterhours by Madonna & Charli was placed 29 on Monday evening, but if you look at last week’s update now, it shows Danceteria at 9? Is this the Mandela effect in action?

Interesting that Nicole Kidman by Adela actually increased consumption this week whilst dropping from number 4 to number 9.

The problem with iTunes is that you can only purchase a song once. If you try to purchase a second time, iTunes tells you that you have already purchased it previously. When there are multiple new versions of a track released, a true fan would purchase each and every version, thus contributing several sales to that week's total.

I think part of the problem is that there is only the one version of Danceteria Afterhours on iTunes, no remix, no extended version, no video, just the “single”.

Just to say that my Madonna & Charli Danceteria Afterhours CD single is being shipped today. Hopefully more versions of the track, and maybe even a video, will be released soon on iTunes?

I think Despacito only dropped to 2, and then regained the number one spot for the following two weeks?

One possible solution might be to only give two more weeks after if a song avoids ACR in the third week? As it stands, if a song avoids ACR it is safe for a further three weeks, which was what RMI managed a number of times.

Very likely. It's number 4 on UK Spotify today (and number 1 on Global Spotify). It's daily placings on Global Spotify have gone 149-86-18-3-1, which must surely be the quickest that an "old song" has gone globally viral?

After his Coachella performance, it is good to see Justin Bieber being a contender for a high re-entry this week.

Mr. Brightside celebrates its 500th week in the charts today. It’s also been in the Top 50 for last five consecutive weeks, amazingly this looks like the first time Mr. Brightside has done this.

Bella is doing really well on Spotify the last few days.

This is quite fascinating how the “wrong song” has managed to be number 1 most weeks this year. Is the Top 200 combined tracks chart available online anywhere?

Rein Me In has been steadily growing on Spotify this week, reaching a new peak of number 5 on Thursday.
