If anything, I reckon Sharon being around would actually bring Vicky down. She’s in her element right now and Ross was also great tonight. These are quite tough parts to play right but they’re smashing it. Elaine and Cindy is brilliant. I worried about where Elaine would end up but being behind a bar is where that character belongs and let’s face it, she’s made for the Albert. Not sure where they’re going with Howie but it’s nice to see him being given something to do. I think it’s only Chelsea now that needs more screen time -where has she even been during all of this? And they’re also finally making Abi’s death matter, after all these years. I still think it was a mistake but maybe it doesn’t have to be.

Can’t they just make special shops for TERFs so that the rest of us do t have to suffer?

It does feel like a lot of the plot is treading water until the returns of Zoe and Max. Plus the Truemans can’t get married until the first week of September because only then and New Year are you ever allowed to get married. The Suki stuff though is just mind boggling. It’s almost like they haven’t understood her character at all from the beginning to now. I hope that spoiler is true.

So if Joel’s mum is messaging Ross, does that make it less likely that she’s Zoe? This seems a bit rinse and Repeat for Patrick, isn’t he always being attacked/robbed? So that’s Eve sucked in. I don’t even buy this ‘she needs a chance to be a proper mum’ rubbish. She’s had FOUR children. Her abusive husband existed but was in prison for TWENTY YEARS and in that time she had complete control over the parenting. In that time she stitched one her kids up for prison where he died. And to make matters worse she hasn’t exactly tried much to fix things? Vinny is the last one hanging around and she treats him like crap still?

Wasn’t there a sort of orchestrated campaign against Christina by Perez Hilton or something?

I get that they want to keep things fresh a relevant. But I do think they were quicker to dust artists off in the late 2000s-more so than they are now. Christina and Maroon 5 had come off the back of no.1 albums when they got dropped but it was almost like Radio 1 were quickly ushering them into retirement.

Watched this last night because my mate from my acting class was in the episode. The writing is so dire! My friend was the threatening inmate towards the end.

I know but the way it’s being written, we’ll get a great scene of Ravi and Priya kicking up followed by lots of scenes where randoms like Elaine, Kim and Billy convince them Suki‘s plan is for the best and in that they’re ready to be grandparents in their 30s.

I quite like him after his first year was out of the way so I’m not opposed to it. It feels like the writing is going through a dodgy stage right now. Things don’t have a natural feel and seem to be happening just because it’s been decided. The Vic takeover was the start but this Suki stuff? Eve and Avani are being manipulated but are acting like they haven’t been because the plot needs to move along?

I’d always found that Eastenders had been very pro choice in the past-Michelle, Sharon, Zoe, Stacey, Whitney and Lauren to name but a few all have had one. But recently….yeah. Lilly having a baby was actually quite ridiculous and they have never capitalised on it. Her reasons for continuing to pregnancy were daft, they have shown none of the consequences of her being a teen mum and she didn’t even look after the baby very much herself-for some reason that was always Harvey’s job? And Avani seemed so determined. We’ve had one episode of Suki beating her down to change her mind and than another where Suki and Stacey convince Eve that she does really want a baby after all despite never having shown interest. Not everyone has to want to be a parent.

When you figure out that Oscar is older than Penny in real life… The Suki stuff is bizarre. It’s like a plot she’d have had in 2021. Eve has experience being a mother through living with Stacey and doesn’t want it for herself, and Suki now has grandchildren she could help instead of need to parent again.

Wouldn’t it have made more sense for Kat to have gotten a decent sum from Phil in the divorce, or sold the cab office to Harvey and Kathy or something? The logic behind Stacey’s decision is razor thin. It has been very plot lead rather than character lead. This is Stacey-who had to sell herself online two years ago because she couldn’t afford food even when she had five other working adults in the house. You’d think she’d want to hold on to any windfall that comes her way. And surely Bex and Ruby might have something to say about it all.

Julie isn’t from Scotland, they just moved there when she got a job up there hence why they exited in 1998. She must also have been living in London some time by then given her son was played by Jon from S Club 7.

Why don’t we want 16/17 year olds interested in politics? Surely telling people they’re too young to engage in it is why we have a lot of adults who still can’t engage properly with it because they were never encouraged? Liam please answer this direct question: what are your concerns about lowering the voting age? What is the worst that will happen?

Only people who have forgotten being 16 and 17 think that. Honestly, it boggles the mind that people think 16/17 year olds will catastrophically destroy the country because they’re a few months younger than someone who turns 18 on the day of the election. We’ve had Brexit, we’ve had 14 years of Tories, and we’ve currently got this Labour shower. Over 18s get it wrong all the time.

And is it just me or is almost every character getting something to do recently? Vinny getting a big scene.

Not sure. Would be good to see her but does she fit in now? I suppose if it coincided with a Janine return and Jack Evans was there too... I can’t believe Jean remembered Hayley. We’re all still trying to forget. I am a little uncomfortable with the kids’ money from their dad’s life insurance being spent this way particularly if they’re not hanging around. Poor Priya.
