Not sure about EE off the top of my head but arguably the most famous soap wedding-Scott and Charlene in Neighbours-had pretty much no drama at all. I think there was a little feud going on between Des and Daphne and Mrs Mangel but that was par for the course and not related to the wedding at all.

Green Day, I guess. I like both songs but I don’t want either to win given they both have done. It’s not like there weren’t other worthy winners in this set either.

Couldn’t even get through a minute-what a bizarre first 50 seconds though! Kind of thrilled they kept some Dido in there but actually, I’m not sure I want her associated with this mess.

Being able to get Baby One More Time, Tragedy and That Don’t Impress Me Much in time for the millennium addition was excellent timing. They may have been late but it made Now 44 all about the year’s bigger hits.

It’s more interesting to go through each example than it is to hear your repeat the same complaints over and over.

But wasn’t that because they were always rushing to the latest Spice Girls song? They went for Mama over 2 Become 1 for Now 36 and then went straight to Stop over Too Much for Now 39 and then ran out of Spice Girls songs for Now 41 but felt they needed to include them so included Too Much late? Honestly, it’s doesn’t matter and it doesn’t ruin my enjoyment. Now 41 is one of my favourite ever Nows (it was the first one I personally owned) and it had a lot of tracks that could have been on the previous volume in addition to Top Much. Life Is A Flower, Turn Back Time and Dreams could all have been on Now 40, but they still sound fine on Now 41.

So you wish Now 119 had more deadwood? I honestly don’t think you’ll ever be happy with Now.

Don’t the Winter Nows always struggle now? I can imagine they’re quite hard to tracklist too given the absolute dearth of fresh hits that followed the Summer release. I’m personally enjoying it. I’ve quite liked all of this year’s Nows tbh.

Elaine has always been a flawed character, even in her previous incarnation though people often forget that. She has always acted very selfishly in most circumstances, even when fighting for Linda against Dean after the rape, it was as much about her as it was her daughter. She has shown to be a shocking mum especially this time last year when she, selfishly, begged her daughter to lie about the rape because she wanted to save her fiancé. This week has finally given us the explanation as to why she behaves the way she does and given the character some more vulnerability. I can’t say that it was a plan all along but I can say that at least they’ve worked enough on this twist to make it fit.

Given the residents of Eirini Rising clearly don’t want Terese back-and with good reason given the danger she put them in-it seems odd we’re supposed to be routing against them.

Not sure how recognising the talents and hard work of those involved means it’s ’about ego’ but this isn’t exactly the most dismissive thing you’ve ever said, I guess. If we’re all being honest, NONE of the versions are any good-it’s not even that good of a song to begin with. It’s a Christmas classic and it always will be but if it wasn’t for its charity status plus the shear number of stars who turned up to take part for the original, I doubt it would still be gushed over as it is now. It’s kind of why I couldn’t stand the criticism Band Aid 20 got-so what if people didn’t like it? It’s just another attempt at the naff charity song. So really, why single out one version and leave it out-it’s arguably no worse or better than any of the other versions. Each to their own.

Nearly done with my first listen through-Sting sounds absolutely awful in that song. Ngl, I buy these now for the Radio 2 padding-usually my favourite parts. I also do it to try and keep up with the new hits and I will admit the quality of the big hitters in 2024 is much better than that of the past few years.

Yeah, it makes no sense given Reiss hasn’t really gotten on with anyone, always puts his foot in it and has been caught trying to rip people off already. If they’re all so sure it wasn’t Sonia, why aren’t they all looking at Reiss?
