I don’t think bringing in the mathematics of riots from 2011 is particularly helpful, it already feels like an attempt to minimise what we’re going through right now. Perhaps no one has died yet but following today there’ll at least be attempted murder charges falling upon rioters.

I remember feeling awful and very upset about the state of things during the 2011 riots but I do think this feels worse. At that time, there wasn’t such a focus on racism which is undeniable of these riots. But as I said, there have been many more years of politicians and media stoking up the fires leading up to these riots. Britain has not been looked after and that’s not because of non white people.

These people are too hate filled for anything. I won’t forget the politicians who have played their part in stoking this fire over the years, along with the media, but racism and violence is a choice these people have made. The reporting has been disgusting. I’m absolutely fed up of the ‘oh but we have to be neutral in reporting’ bollocks-I have not seen the words racist or racism used anywhere and that’s what this is. There is no excuse for racism, not one.

I’d ask that you don’t put words into ours in that case. Not once in this thread has ANYONE defended a pedophile. Stop implying that they are.

For the record, I’ve not once asked you to apologise for anything. I’m giving my opinion on the way you’re posting and trying to advise you on how to not get into trouble by saying things before all of the information has come to light.

I think Hassaan is ok to be concerned-these idiots haven’t left everyone alone today. Hopefully things will die out over the next week. I do wish they’d stop reporting about anti-immigration protestors and just call them what they are-racists.

I’m not defending him. I’m just saying that until there’s been a criminal conviction, you need to be more careful about what you say. Which is also why I said you were wrong to shame anyone who defended Huw a year ago. As for LL, I mentioned it only because you had someone else down as guilty before there was even a police investigation and yet defended someone with an actual conviction. I did just find it a tad hypocritical.

I’m just countering your points, not sure there’s any need to get that personal. Phillip Schofield is not an accused groomer as far as I can see. There doesn’t appear to be an investigation into him or anything going on. Of course, that doesn’t mean something definitely won’t ever come out along those lines but it’s best to reserve any comments for if/when that happens no matter what your personal opinion.

I was much more gutted when it was announced that Sonya was axed. Toadie is a terrible character these days and has been awful since Sonya died. If we’re being honest, she was the only thing propping him up in the decade before that. Since they decided he had to ‘grow up’ which seemed to mean being an arse to everyone all the time, he’s not been essential for me. I wonder if the feedback Amazon have received about him has been poor. I don’t know anyone who has enjoyed his character since the relaunch.

I get the feeling that with the current writing, Sonia probably pout for a minute and then reason that Reiss is just trying his best and that then give any visitors a dressing down if they even suggest that Reiss getting her arrested is a red flag.

It’s been disgusting to see the usual suspects going after Khelif. It’s confirmed what it’s always been about-a sexist view of what a woman should be. Anyone not conforming, to them, is a man. Even if they’ve only ever been female. Carini has now apologised for her reaction towards Khelif. She at least has the excuse of having been in that moment emotionally upset. I’ll just wait here for Rowling to apologise.

Oh, sit down. Assuming that poster meant every single football fan was a reach and you know it. And even if I could give you the benefit of the doubt on that, it was repeatedly stated by the poster in question plus a couple of others that this is not what was meant but you’ve chosen to ignore that and repeatedly whinge like being a football fan is somehow a minority group in danger. My goodness, the straight white pearl clutching in here has gone into overdrive! Apart from the fact that NO ONE has said that ALL football fans are hooligans and at least THREE of us have outright said that this isn’t the case, I’m not sure why there is such a generalisation. Not all football fans are hooligans but on the other hand, all hooligans are football fans so it isn’t a leap to speculate that. It is well known that some football clubs are used by far right ‘activists’ as channels for grooming young people into extremism. I actually have experience of trying to help a young lad I taught who was indoctrinated into the EDL through Chester football club. I remember him buzzing when he featured in several shots during a documentary about football hooliganism. Football matches are the perfect places for these like minded people to meet. Does that mean everyone that enjoys football is a far right hooligan? Of course it doesn’t and given that no one in the this thread even said that, perhaps people could read the actual posts and sit down? Honestly I have often battled and called out homophobia, transphobia, misogyny and racism on here and been ridiculed for doing so and complained about to management but I honestly hadn’t realised that being a football fan was a protected characteristic and especially not that it was the only one people on here care about. Three girls have been killed, several more injured and communities are suffering from violence and riots. But suggesting football hooligans have anything to do with it is a step too far!

In all fairness, he didn’t say every football fan is a hooligan. Saying that the hooligan type of person would be just looking for something hooligan to do doesn’t even come close to saying that all football fans would riot. From what I recall, the media mainly reported the facts in the Letby trial. She wasn’t once branded a murderer until she was convicted. Alleged and accused were used-two words you should get used to using when discussing people before they’re convicted of anything. Whereas at the time, there was no police investigation of Huw Edwards and the media were leaking out bits of info and getting everyone speculating about who it was, etc. That was a cheap and disgusting thing to do regardless and just because something has come out about that individual doesn’t mean it was the right way to go about it. What if the next person that happens to ends up not being guilty of anything?

I’ve already explained why I brought it up. Another difference is that she is a convicted felon whereas the other examples either aren’t or weren’t at the time. You said you hoped people defending a pedophile feel ashamed. Said people didn’t know as fact that they were ‘defending a pedophile’. I’m done talking to you on this. I’m not even sure why I’m responding given you don’t read anything here anyway but people have only said it’s separate because of your early attacks telling people to be ashamed of themselves and accusing them of defending pedophiles when all they actually did was voice a view based on the evidence at the time. The current news was not public back then. This is legally a separate issue because it is not directly linked to last year’s story. Of course, there is an indirect link and it is clear that Huw Edwards has some unhealthy issues. What I object to is you taking some sort of moral high ground over other posters. People posted based on the information available at the time and do not need to be condemned by you just because the story happened to unfold the way you’d already said it would. I mean, still going off actual information rather than speculation, it hasn’t panned out quite the way you wanted but well done on the win I guess. Still waiting for Phillip Schofield to be arrested based on your inflammatory comments about him last year. Still time, I guess. I also noticed you haven’t responded about the fact that you believe a convicted child killer to be completely innocent because the evidence is so flimsy and yet was calling someone else a pedophile last year when at the time there was no investigation going on.

And where did Silas deny this pattern? It’s still a separate issue to what came out last year even if it is along the same lines. What Huw has been doing is not right and by pleading guilty he has shown that he acknowledges this even if he did seek to keep his activities legal. I’m not sure what you’re trying to get out of people here tbh. No one here is defending Huw Edwards in light of what has come out but for some reason you’re quite desperate to be seen as some glorious pedophile hunter and paint the rest of us a pedophile apologists when that’s clearly not the case.
