But it’s still very clearly been a hit though? You won’t burst into flame if you admit that either.

Streaming Services Chart Discussion
I hate the word ‘biased’ being thrown around to discredit opinions. Music is subjective and posters used to join this site because of their passion for music and to follow that through to the charts. Of course there’s bias, that’s how being into music works. It does seem recently that they chart forum memberbase is becoming more and more passionless and clinical. Apparently, who cares about music quality? Why would anyone bother with that when we can analyse chart runs like and made up sales units? And the Houdini argument is still weak as. It peaked at no.2, it’s still in the chart a couple of months later. It is not an underperformance because it’s so far performed better than at least half of Dua’s discography. You can’t just label something an underperformance because the previous single performed better, otherwise the majority of songs in existence are underperforming. Most artists don’t have a performance that consistent. An underperformance would surely have been Dua missing the top 10 and vanishing within a fortnight.

Streaming Services Chart Discussion
I’d say it all comes down to the perceived quality of an artist on how the members of the forum approach them, not their gender. But it seems to be your usual angle. Yes, people want Ed and Drake to flop (let’s not forget they also have huge support on the forum) but I feel that’s because they’re not perceived to be very good. They’re musically lazy and have very little issue getting success generally. However, artists like the Weeknd, Lil Nas X, George Ezra (Green Green Grass aside), Sam Ryder and even I’d argue Lewis Capaldi don’t get the same reaction and I think it’s because Buzzjack generally prefers their output. It’s just how it is but you usually overlook it. I’m not a huge Dua/Ariana fan but they do seem to be deemed on here to be artists that have good output in addition to being female. That is why people don’t label them flops generally when they peak top 3. However, think of female artists like Jessie J, Jess Glynne or Anne Marie-generally regarded pretty poorly despite being female because their output is generally seen as not being that good. It’s very easy to stereotype posters on here but you really need to stop. I’m not sure why successful female artists bother you so but it does feel like it’s unhealthy at this point.

Now That's What I Call Music! Thread [Part 6]
So many of you are mentioning Partners In Kryme being on the Extra. It’s on disc 3 of the main Yearbook.

Neighbours
So who is the worst character in this revival and why is it Haz?

EastEnders
Not Sonia just assuming boring toddler Annie can compare to the ikonec Abi Branning!

OCC: Sophie Ellis-Bextor's Official Biggest Songs
That’s something people always seem to overlook as well. Read My Lips was a huge selling album so many got their Sophie fix from that rather than buying the singles. You see it in the 2004 thread in 21st century retro. People saying it was an awful year for music because of low sales and naff no.1s in the singles when actually it was a great year for both quality and sales if you look at the album charts.

Track 9 Survivor [Round 2]
Gonna stick with Beam Me Up.

OCC: Sophie Ellis-Bextor's Official Biggest Songs
Sales didn’t turn *that* bad though until around 2003 when Sophie was about to enter her sophomore slump. Sales were generally good 2000-02 and her sales for the run of Groovejet to Get Over You were very respectable looking at her chart runs.

Trustfall [NEW ALBUM]
I meant to take part in the rate for this but completely forgot about it. I’d be up for hosting one later in the year perhaps? I was also thinking we’ve recently passed the 20th anniversary of Try This, perhaps we could do a rate for that album?

OCC: Sophie Ellis-Bextor's Official Biggest Songs
Agreed. Sophie has a generally amazing discography, I’m not sure why people feel the need to go out of their way to point out that they like her ‘best songs’. There is so much indirect shade at Take Me Home in here when it’s a great track.

Now That's What I Call Music! Thread [Part 6]
Technically Murder On The Dancefloor also peaked in 2002 as it climbed back to no.2 in the first week of the year.

OCC: Sophie Ellis-Bextor's Official Biggest Songs
Can I just say that I also really like Take Me Home? It’s a good cover and it feels like it’s being a bit left out here.

Neighbours
I’m actually really enjoying this still despite things seeming low key. There’s a lot of character stuff going on like the David/Aaron/Remi/Cara meal which was pretty beautiful. And Wendy freely admitting she eavesdrops her daughter’s phone calls, that woman is a queen.

EastEnders
I always enjoyed Elaine but the crying at the window was atrocious. Surely she just needed to look upset?
-
EastEnders
Surely that’s just sensationalist reporting. The articles say the actor quit now and it would be weird if their behaviour cost them their job whilst Jessie Wallace gets a reprieve every single time.

EastEnders
I feel like you spoilered the wrong name in my post.

EastEnders
I’d rather we didn’t go there with . Aren’t they supposed to have known each other for years anyway? Why would they suddenly be attracted to one another just because they now know they’re both gay? Felix is yet to have a love interest so how about having be interested in him?

Brexit II: This Time It's Irreversible
Yes, that’s the way it is. My dad can get one because he had an Irish grandparent but I can’t because I’m too far down the line. Thus people can’t just go and get an Irish passport as was suggested here.
-
Brexit II: This Time It's Irreversible
Well they’re clearly not because I can’t get one.
-
Brexit II: This Time It's Irreversible
You can’t just get an Irish passport though. I’m one generation too far out to be eligible and that could be the same for Smint too.

The Unofficial Year-End Chart 2023
Gutted Trustfall still misses out top 100 on this chart but then at least it’s still more representative.

EastEnders
Is it even messy though? Of course it was never going to be smooth sailing for the Six. I’m sure once Rocky is dealt with, another threat will loom. Nish waking probably and then possibly Dean revealing he’s seen something or one of them confiding in someone they think they can trust. I’m living for all the drama tbh. Also I love how Kathy’s acting appears to be on par with Gillian Taylforth’s

2004
Only the OCC could discuss 2004 without mentioning Anastacia at all. The singles charts are a poor indication of what was popular at the time anyway. People weren’t buying singles, they were buying albums and there were lots of classics in that regard back in 2004. But as usual, the OCC only focuses on the singles chart and more specifically no.1s.
