I was much more gutted when it was announced that Sonya was axed. Toadie is a terrible character these days and has been awful since Sonya died. If we’re being honest, she was the only thing propping him up in the decade before that. Since they decided he had to ‘grow up’ which seemed to mean being an arse to everyone all the time, he’s not been essential for me. I wonder if the feedback Amazon have received about him has been poor. I don’t know anyone who has enjoyed his character since the relaunch.

I get the feeling that with the current writing, Sonia probably pout for a minute and then reason that Reiss is just trying his best and that then give any visitors a dressing down if they even suggest that Reiss getting her arrested is a red flag.

It’s been disgusting to see the usual suspects going after Khelif. It’s confirmed what it’s always been about-a sexist view of what a woman should be. Anyone not conforming, to them, is a man. I’ve always been a straight shooter on this site and for your information, I’ve very much been holding back this year when it comes to calling things out. I just see that you’re constantly winding people up and whenever anyone does call you on you act all noble like you’re just seeing both sides or something. You backtrack so much. Oh, sit down. Assuming that poster meant every single football fan was a reach and you know it. And even if I could give you the benefit of the doubt on that, it was repeatedly stated by the poster in question plus a couple of others that this is not what was meant but you’ve chosen to ignore that and repeatedly whinge like being a football fan is somehow a minority group in danger. My goodness, the straight white pearl clutching in here has gone into overdrive! Apart from the fact that NO ONE has said that ALL football fans are hooligans and at least THREE of us have outright said that this isn’t the case, I’m not sure why there is such a generalisation. Not all football fans are hooligans but on the other hand, all hooligans are football fans so it isn’t a leap to speculate that. It is well known that some football clubs are used by far right ‘activists’ as channels for grooming young people into extremism. I actually have experience of trying to help a young lad I taught who was indoctrinated into the EDL through Chester football club. I remember him buzzing when he featured in several shots during a documentary about football hooliganism. Football matches are the perfect places for these like minded people to meet. Does that mean everyone that enjoys football is a far right hooligan? Of course it doesn’t and given that no one in the this thread even said that, perhaps people could read the actual posts and sit down? Honestly I have often battled and called out homophobia, transphobia, misogyny and racism on here and been ridiculed for doing so and complained about to management but I honestly hadn’t realised that being a football fan was a protected characteristic and especially not that it was the only one people on here care about. Three girls have been killed, several more injured and communities are suffering from violence and riots. But suggesting football hooligans have anything to do with it is a step too far!

In all fairness, he didn’t say every football fan is a hooligan. Saying that the hooligan type of person would be just looking for something hooligan to do doesn’t even come close to saying that all football fans would riot. From what I recall, the media mainly reported the facts in the Letby trial. She wasn’t once branded a murderer until she was convicted. Alleged and accused were used-two words you should get used to using when discussing people before they’re convicted of anything. Whereas at the time, there was no police investigation of Huw Edwards and the media were leaking out bits of info and getting everyone speculating about who it was, etc. That was a cheap and disgusting thing to do regardless and just because something has come out about that individual doesn’t mean it was the right way to go about it. What if the next person that happens to ends up not being guilty of anything?

I’ve already explained why I brought it up. Another difference is that she is a convicted felon whereas the other examples either aren’t or weren’t at the time. You said you hoped people defending a pedophile feel ashamed. Said people didn’t know as fact that they were ‘defending a pedophile’. I’m done talking to you on this. I’m not even sure why I’m responding given you don’t read anything here anyway but people have only said it’s separate because of your early attacks telling people to be ashamed of themselves and accusing them of defending pedophiles when all they actually did was voice a view based on the evidence at the time. The current news was not public back then. This is legally a separate issue because it is not directly linked to last year’s story. Of course, there is an indirect link and it is clear that Huw Edwards has some unhealthy issues. What I object to is you taking some sort of moral high ground over other posters. People posted based on the information available at the time and do not need to be condemned by you just because the story happened to unfold the way you’d already said it would.
