  1. Hurts 2B Human was an odd release. Definitely an unexpected one but also one that made it clear her label didn’t really know how to sell her to streaming (something they seem to have learned now). Walk Me Home was a very different lead single but it was a hit however the album was randomly released 2 months later. I do love this album, it feels like a collection of songs that didn’t make Beautiful Trauma and yet I still prefer this album.
  2. Soulja Boy first.
  3. I returned to Rose Ave quite a bit last year when we speculated there may be another You + Me album. Very different for Pink but I was loving it. I’d be well up for a follow up. I loved Beautiful Trauma, our first Pink album for 5 years. Revenge was very old school for me which I loved, I know a lot didn’t enjoy that one. It was a bit less in your face than previous efforts but a good album.

I’m sort of looking forward to him releasing something authentic and genuine, would make a huge change. I won’t hold my breath though as he’s never been more than average as a musician.

It’s a shame they’ve had to bring Whitney down this road. For one thing, she’s had so much tragedy in her life, this kind of feels unnecessary. For another, it just feels like her having a baby is something we just need to get out of the way. I hope they don’t go down a sensationalist route of Whitney agreeing to raise Lilly’s child as her own.
  7. I’m Not Dead is easily my favourite Pink album, it’s my favourite ever album. I didn’t know if it’d be a success but I loved it all the moment I heard it. I had to wait a month to buy it as I had to save up and I was doing my AS exams at the time so was really busy but I got it I think the week Who Knew was released which of course became one of my favourite Pink songs. Funhouse definitely feels like a commercial peak for Pink. I’m Not Dead had proved that she, well, wasn’t dead and Funhouse completely capitalised on that. So What was huge and I’d argue a probable signature song for her. I was having a great time at uni when it first came out and about 6 months later it really helped me out when I was being bullied. The Truth About Love isn’t one of my favourite albums by Pink though I still enjoy it. It has a fantastic run of singles and they’re all clumped together on the album but the rest isn’t her strongest stuff. 20 tracks in full is a slog and bizarrely a lot of the bonus tracks are much better than the main album ones. Try and Just Give Me A Reason are clearly highlights and well thought of but Blow Me (One Last Kiss) is my absolute fave. It premiered when I was in my first school having a crap time and the song really captured how I was feeling. I posted last Summer that the song has resonated with me the same way again with the end of my last job. Of course, I’d just started at my last school when this album came out and it was the soundtrack to a really happy period of my life.

Ikonec. She didn’t even seem human enough to pass as a robot in that scene There were two Neds. Ned Willis who was fairly recent but the poster of referring to the infamous Ned Parker who was played by and Australian Idol finalist and could not act to save his life. The Parkers were a terrible replacement for the Timmins family (although it was revealed last year that they almost replaced the Kennedy’s instead!) The writing for them was extremely poor and inconsistent. I did quite like Steve who was also a good actor and Riley didn’t offend. Miranda I think was played by a capable actress but the character was given horrendous traits and inconsistent characterisation. Didge of course was the worst of all because she wasn’t pleasant, couldn’t act, was given horrendous writing and suffered from extreme amounts of producer favouritism. There’s no was every boy in RS was desperate to date her and yet that’s how it was portrayed.

It’s P!nk really but I often type Pink out of laziness.

I’d forgotten about the recast Declan until I came across an episode with him yesterday. What a terrible move by the show. Didge really was an awful character. Not only was the acting and styling appalling but the writing for her was absolutely horrendous. It was quite emotional watching Toadie and Dee get married again. Not only knowing what happens at the end of the episode but now knowing what happened all those years later.
  12. This question appears to still be relevant today.

And ridiculously I’ve voted for more than half the album! I’ve hardly listened to anything else all week, I’m still very much on NGNDA and Trustfall as singles and I think they’re amazing. Turbulence really hits me whenever I hear it and I love the 80s sounds on Runaway and the retro Pink style on Hate Me. Last Call and When I Get There have very much been popping into my head quite often as well. When I Get There has taken on a special place with me these last few days as my friend’s mum who also used to be a work colleague of mine passed away from cancer. The lyrics to that song are everything.

I thought Raise Your Glass would do better!
  15. Try This was my very first Pink album! I had loved the singles from the M!ssundaztood era so much but I was only 13/14 and struggled to save for the album but by the time I could, Try This was out and I bought that instead first. I loved rock Pink so much and the singles really did sell the album for me. It did feel like more of a flop era than it was at the time and I genuinely wasn’t sure if Pink would pull it back in terms of being commercial. Eventually I got M!ssundaztood the same day I got I’m Not Dead which are now my top 2 favourite albums by her. There was something about her in that second era. Get The Party Started was different from what came before and also what came soon after. Don’t Let Me Get Me and Just Like A Pill we’re amazing singles, the former resonating with how I was feeling about myself at the time and the latter just being such a well written song-no.1 on my 14th birthday as well! I didn’t buy Can’t Take Me Home until just before she released her GH and I only really did to be a completist. I liked Most Girls a lot at the time but when I first saw her perform There You Go on Top Of The Pops, I wasn’t truly bowled over asides from the pink hair though it’s a decent tune. I didn’t appreciate You Make Me Sick at all really and was never a huge RnB fan, hence not getting the album earlier. I go back to it every now and then and it’s a very strong album but just not really my style. Or hers. It’s funny because I think lots of people would like her to go down that route again, but I’m glad she hasn’t.
  16. This never felt like a no.40!song. So pleased, 19 is a vast improvement.

She hasn’t had a no.14 peak yet so even if this doesn’t get higher, I’m happy.

This woman is everything. So pleased she got it but it’s still scandalous she’s only had 4 no.1 albums!

Also worth noting that albums sales were very much at a peak overall in 2006 even if they hadn’t slumped loads by 2008/9. I’m Not Dead and Funhouse we’re both the ninth best selling albums of 2006 and 2008 but the former had much higher sales.

Quick everyone stream that impeccable run of singles (and the rest of the album)

Didge was horrendous and so, looking at those eps, was Ty. Ringo wasn’t so bad but the writing for him was awful. Donna did stick out among a bad bunch even at the time, she was a reason to watch. Eventually the writing for her got very tedious and Margot got out at the right time.

Try This was a commercial comedown from M!ssundaztood-most things would have been. With it being only her third album, it could easily have gone that she would continue on a downward trajectory and she herself wasn’t really feeling that era. I’m Not Dead was a pretty big reversal of fortune for her and even that got off to a pretty slow start off the back of this, particularly in the US.

Another great episode. The care they’ve taken into showing Denise’s thought process just wouldn’t have happened a year ago. I’m not even rooting for her and Ravi, but I am rooting for her to find happiness and she just can’t with Jack.

I just started with that 2005 one I think-lots of good Janelle too! Also just watched one from 2009-not the most vintage year and the step down in quality is evident but there were still some great characters around-Donna, Rebecca, Steve, Elle, Sam.

That’s the streaming era for you. I’m Not Dead is my favourite ever album. The memories I have associated with it. Immense I don’t recall anyone thinking Raise Your Glass would be no.1. Top 5 maybe but Q4 in 2010 was an unbelievably competitive era. RYG hung around well into the new year and sales were generally on the rise unlike the early 2000s when she has her highest peaks so it quickly became one of her biggest sellers. I recall at one point it was only outsold by So What and Lady Marmalade. It’s great that Who Knew and Just Like A Pill seem to be streamed pretty consistently.
