I quite enjoyed Everybody In Love. It does the job, not every song has to be groundbreaking, some can just be nice. Pixie Lott though, I never got. Or that Tinchy Stryder song. It felt with those two that they went to no.1 off the back of previous no.1s. Pixie seemed to lack a big voice, star quality and just about anything a popstar needs so her limited success always baffled me.

Not Bea eyeing up Ian’s sausage roll. Again wtf is going on with her? Michelle Ryan was ok playing Zoe like this 20 years ago when she was playing a stroppy teenager but it’s not great coming from a woman in her 40s. It’s like the only development Zoe had off screen was ‘I had kids and abandoned them’. I actually don’t care either way about the verdict tomorrow. I cba with the aftermath either way.

How was 2013 stagnant? There were 29 different no.1s that year!

It’s really very off that he’s certainly being treated like some sort of unsavoury criminal that needs wiping from media existence when he’s not actually been convicted of anything. I can only assume he is being investigated for something else now that we don’t know about yet.

All this trial keeps doing is rattling off lists as to why Jasmine shouldn’t be a regular character. There is nothing likeable about her character at all, nothing positive she has given any of the other characters. Being Zoe’s daughter isn’t enough. Oscar pining for her isn’t enough. If we’re supposed to be invested in her, they’ve massively dropped the ball. Just lock her up, they have a fresh start with Josh who actually has been a positive presence for every character he’s met.

Always enjoy Matt’s music. The album was due on Friday but it’s been postponed to July 3rd.

I can’t be doing with Zack and Barney. It was a stupid twist they’re trying to make work now. Maybe if Zack and Barney had bonded somehow previous to the reveal then I’d be ok with it. But it was literally Zack finding out and then deciding he had to ‘have’ Barney like he’s a piece of property. Barney has also had so few scenes with Nicola and Harry recently given all The family drama it just feels off. Speaking of Chelsea too, great to see her having a storyline but remember when it looked like her and Zack would get together and then then just pivoted to him and Whitney randomly? I think it’s clear ‘it’s me, your brother, Josh’ was intended given the story. The problem at the time was that everything about him had been left so vague that there was no way we could know whether it was good dialogue or not. Jasmine had been revealed as Zoe’s daughter at least 2 months earlier and not one character had bothered asking her what had happened to her brother. And that was bad writing. Why would Oscar choose Jasmine over Josh? And poor Jessie Wallace still looks like she can’t believe the scripts they keep giving her.

Well that’s what he wants to happen but they’re just laughing at him.

I’m Not Dead is my favourite album of all time. It came at a very important time of my life which I can’t believe was 20 years ago now. 2006 was such a time! Also I have plenty of time for Can’t Take Me Home too. I was late for it because I’m not of massive RnB lover and her other albums were more my thing. I probably still rank it the lowest of her albums but it’s very decent either way. And to think it’s almost 26 years since I first saw her performing on TOTP with the pink hair! Surely album 10 has to be due this year?

Ugh no thanks to any of those. Cant they just get Sara Cox to do it?

I just don’t know what she’s planing to do or why. They clearly thought this storyline could run off Ronni Ancona acting weird but it’s not enough.

Do we actually know what Bea’s motivation for anything she does is?

I’d like to believe there’s nothing to it given how much I used to enjoy listening to Scott. But regardless, the BBC to appear to have handled this poorly. A big announcement of his sacking without detail, vague comments on details found from other sources. As a listener and someone annoyed that all Scott Mills content will never be released again (TOTP repeats I wanted to see) I feel like I’m owed the truth. I know that’s not an easy thing to come by in situations like this but everything they’ve done seems to point at something sinister.

I guess that would come at a cost to Ian whereas using George’s restaurant is going to be free for Elaine.

The show is feeling pretty good this week. Honestly, at the moment it genuinely feels like it depends who’s on screen. Like Zack’s character irritates me but with Nicola/Penny dominating, Vicki lifting the scenes and even Ian vs Elaine it feels more bearable. But when it’s Zoe/Jasmine or Ravi/Mark it feels like the show is on its last legs.

So I’m not loving that new development but I guess it’s giving Penny, Vinny, Harry, Nicola, Suki and Eve plenty of screen time so maybe I can get on board with it. I am not interested in Zack at all. Failed character IMO.

I remember there being a little fuss about the Gary Barlow comeback-his first single since Robbie went stratospheric-but I don’t really remembering hearing it outside of the chart. The song seemed pretty on brand for the time hearing it now but the performance reminded me that Gary was a terrible solo pop star. Beverley Knight though, what a performance that was! Truly an artist who deserved more.

There was more than enough story in Penny and Vinny having a baby together. We didn’t need this cheap who’s the daddy crap and have Vinny regress and become Suki’s manbaby again. The worst thing about this though is a really Wadey thing-the writing. Tonight was supposed to be some ‘gotcha’ moment for the viewers ‘you didn’t see that coming’. Well, of course we didn’t, there weren’t any clues. Penny has previously lacked screen time but I just thought she wasn’t doing anything whilst not on screen but apparently she was actually doing Harry. It’s like when they set up all the Cindy clues for Jasmine so that they could reveal her as something completely different. If there are subtle clues we don’t mind. But literally showing us something else to throw us off the scent is really bad storytelling.

Pink has two songs called Runaway. Both great as well.

Richard Bacon was sacked immediately from Blue Peter for substance abuse back in 1998. So they do have form for it.
