Doctor who has ever not been for kids?
  2. Honestly the amount of ‘but we still don’t know what happened on the fishing trip’ comments really grate. It’s almost like people have missed the whole joke over the past 17 years.

I really loved this. It really got me-Christmas TV really was top tier yesterday. I’m so glad we’ve got Ncuti and RTD now. They have really rejuvenated my love of Doctor Who when I felt like I’d outgrown it during the Chibnall era.
  4. I’m not certain that James Corden is as awful in real life as people would have you believe. For every bad story about him, there are plenty of lovely ones too. He’s clearly a talented guy, he’s had rave reviews for his performance in the Constituent this year.
  5. It was perfect, the only way it could have ended and certainly clear how it has to be the final episode. What a journey the last 17 years have been! Such a special evening for those of us who’ve been following for so long!

Not sure Cindy will be dead-it’s possible but they already did the return from the dead and then dead for real 18 months later with Den. Plus Cindy being attacked is probably the first step to her rehabilitation after tonight. Then again, lines from Ian and Elaine very much emphasised the possibility of death. Cracking episodes though, I think they probably topped at least the last 10 years of Christmas episodes. Basically could have been any of Ian, George, Junior, Lauren, Elaine, Peter, Gina, Anna or Kathy responsible. Could even be Kojo, I guess.

It was Nigel, last seen back in 1998! I’ve recently watched his run on Classic EE, great character and brilliant to see him back. I’m guessing he’ll tie into Phil’s story somehow and surely there’ll be plenty of Dot mentions to come. Yolande always steals the show. Character of the year. Elaine has also very much come into her own these past few months. I was living for Ian just not being arsed about Cindy being unhappy yet again. I’m not sure I’ll be that convinced if he falls to pieces after the reveal, he’s already prioritised other things over Cindy this year.
  8. Because for most people it just isn’t that deep. Christmas no.1 is the song that you can refer to as no.1 if anyone asks you on the day. It was the song played as no.1 on TOTP. It’s an old and pretty pointless tradition now.

And said expert has now come out and said that he didn’t say he’d changed his mind about anything.

Elaine’s gymnastics over the bed were Olympic Gold Worthy. And nice to see the dream sequence consistently characterised Nancy as an obnoxious cow.
  11. Salsoul Nugget is a banger and was the clear winner. Can’t fathom why people were targeting it from such an early stage. And now we’re left with one of most pedestrian top 3s these survivors have ever had. I don’t hate any of them but they’re all just kind of there.
  12. In my line of work it’s just a sign that you work in a school.

Agreed, we didn’t need to revisit Heath. However, I’m delighted to see that Tess will be back and her acting as stilted as ever. There are too many guest villains/characters swanning in right now. I feel like the Varga Murphy’s are the only ones with their own storylines right now but you can see Chelsea returning with ‘Paul’s’ baby a mile off. And it was pretty uncomfortable watching the regulars bullying the retirement residents into accepting back a woman who put their lives in huge danger. Neighbours can be so off with these things.

Got to tick Davinder saying ‘he’s still my grandad’ off my bingo card yet again.

Not sure anyone wanted a Mickey Miller return tbh.

They have made both Freddie and Anna so dim that it’s not that unrealistic that they didn’t listen first-but then I’m not sure why they recorded anything in the first place if they were never going to listen back.

That’s a return I’d be quite up for seeing. If true, it’s likely there’ll be another much rumoured return. Shame they weren’t at Dot’s funeral.

You do you but I can’t keep watching Nish and Suki having the same interactions over and over. I can’t watch Nish almost die again and then be miraculously ok an hour later. I can’t watch Avani and Nugget say ‘but he’s our grandpa’ after watching him attempt to kill a family member again. It’s too repetitive.

It’s so boring. ‘If anyone can make a deathbed last two months, it’s Nish’. Suki, I swear, it’s been MUCH LONGER.

They do have tone deaf areas despite being generally good-Nish being one of them. Whitney was another in her appalling exit.

Has there ever been a more drawn out death than Nish? I mean, if he’d been a popular character maybe it wouldn’t matter. But I’ve never seen anyone anywhere appreciate him or his storylines. He’s not even fun to hate.

My goodness, just WHERE can this even go now? How is he even STILL alive? No one asked for this.

Really sad news today-Ian Smith will be leaving the show again because he has terminal cancer. This is way too soon after Janet

Mick and Linda were ruined way before either had an affair.

I think the scamming Jean story would be more effective if we hadn’t seen something like this happen to her before with Michael. Then again, it’s more realistic than Lauren randomly trusting Cindy.
