Jax - Victoria's Secret (1 week @ #1) 4. Carly Rae Jepsen - Beach House (former Daily #1) 5. Maggie Rogers - Horses (2 weeks @ #1)

This is the News and Politics forum so I think it should be appropriate here. In the past decade, a lot has happened in the English speaking Western world, and people's opinions have shifted all over the place. I also have a feeling that the overall mood here has changed, compared for example to 2013 when I first joined. Back then, I did a poll here about people's politics, and if I remember correctly many of you said you were centre-left or 'Blairite'. I don't know if it's still true now. Anyway, have you changed? If yes, then how?

I'm not British but I think Liz Truss is scary. Rishi sounds better to me, even though I'm not familiar with him and don't really know what he's like, he's got to be better than Truss anyway. (Labour's Keir Starmer also seems like a very good choice.)

What do you think? As an actual class of 2002 person, I really liked it! But I did notice some errors: e.g. A Moment Like This was released in September. If the accident happened in May, then it wouldn't have even been recorded then!

Final two: 2. Kelly Clarkson - A Moment Like This (2002) The winner's single from the first season of American Idol was also the first end of year number one on this chart. Almost two decades later, this song has become a classic. This song was also the overall biggest hit of the 2000s. 1. Melissa Benoist and Glee Cast - You Have More Friends Than You Know (2013) Melissa Benoist may be most well known for being Supergirl nowadays, but before she was Supergirl, she had the biggest number one ever on this chart. This song was also the overall biggest hit of the 2010s.

Skankhunt43, good to see you like that song too!, Next two: 4. Miranda Cosgrove - Raining Sunshine (2009) The theme song from Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs was a surprise hit. It was the iCarly star's first number one, and it stayed there for 8.5 weeks. 3. Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone - City of Stars (2017) The iconic song from La La Land was the biggest hit ever to debut in January (usually a quiet time for the chart). It stayed in the top 20 until mid 2018.

I see no objective sign of Biden being incapable of doing the job. In fact, I think he's doing quite well given the circumstances. There's a pretty good chance he will be there until January 2029.

Next two: 6. Lea Michele - This Time (2015) This original song from the final episode of Glee spent 7 weeks at #1, and was also #1 in the 2015 End Of Year Chart. It is also Lea Michele's greatest hit on this chart to date. 5. Britney Spears - I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman (2002) This was one of the earliest #1s of this chart, back in April 2002. It is still my favourite Britney song ever.

In my opinion, the biggest problem with Twitter is its echo chamber problem. People seem to effectively stay in their echo chambers all the time on Twitter, and this is why the discussion gets so heated and imbalanced sometimes. I don't think Elon Musk owning it is going to change anything there.

Thanks for the comments! Jason, I never thought about that before, but it's interesting. Skankhunt43, thanks for agreeing that old Taylor was better! Now, the next two entries, both from American Idol: 8. Hollie Cavanagh - Honesty (2012) The studio version of this performance from the American Idol 2012 top 4 contestant spent a whole month at #1, and eventually became the biggest hit of the year. 7. Chayce Beckham and Casey Bishop - Break My Heart Again (2021) This duet from the American Idol 2021 top 4 contestants is a cover of the 2018 Finneas song. It stayed inside the top 10 and topped the chart recurrently from June to December, and was the clear winner in the 2021 end of year chart.

This month marks the 20th anniversary of the TaraElla Charts. Let's countdown the 10 biggest hits in these 20 years, starting with: 10. Taylor Swift - The Best Day (2009) Taylor Swift's biggest hit ever on this chart, it stayed at #1 for the entire month of May 2009. I still think the 'old Taylor' is better, by the way. 9. Kate DeAraugo - Maybe Tonight (2005) The winner's single from Australian Idol Season 3 spent 8 weeks at #1 back in 2005-6, smashing all records at the time.

Thanks for the comments everyone! JSG, I will try my best to stick around this time. :) I loved the original 9PM in the 90s, which is why this version also did well! awardinary, thanks for liking my chart! Your chart is pretty great too! :cheer: Miley is a veteran of these charts (having had her first #1 in 2007), and Ella Henderson only got her first #1 this year. Still, both are great! seltinpixmile, thanks for appreciating Taylor in particular. Not enough people seem to like her new 'from the vault' songs.

TaraElla's Monthly Music Review, Volume 5, 2021 * TaraElla's monthly music review is a summary of the TaraElla daily charts of the previous month. This chart reflects the month of April, 2021. * Since January 2021, a song earns a 'point' by being number one on a single day. However, because the daily chart is 3-day rolling average, songs usually get at least 3 points or none. * We are counting down to 1000 #1s, currently we are at #999, meaning the next daily #1 will be the 1000th! 20. Meghan Trainor - Holiday (former #1 in 2020) 19. Miley Cyrus - Prisoner (former #1 in 2020) 18. Taylor Swift - Willow (38 points) 17. Anne-Marie - Don't Play (3 points) 16. Ella Henderson & Tom Grennan - Let's Go Home Together (4 points) 15. Bebe Rexha - Sacrifice (10 points) 14. Billie Eilish - Therefore I Am (7 points) 13. Olivia Rodrigo - Driver's Licence (5 points) 12. Alyssa Wray - The Greatest Love Of All 11. Miley Cyrus - Angels Like You 10. Demi Lovato - Dancing With The Devil 9. The Prom Cast - It's Time To Dance 8. The Prom Cast - Just Breathe 7. ATB/Topic/ATS - Your Love (9PM) (3 points this month, 3 points total) 6. Olivia Rodrigo - Deja Vu (3 points this month, 3 points total) Rodrigo becomes the first artist born this century to have two chart toppers. And now, the top 5... 5. The Prom Cast - Tonight Belongs To Us (3 points this month, 3 points total) 4. Ingrid Michaelson & Zayn - To Begin Again (5 points this month, 5 points total) After such a tough year, we all want the chance to begin again. This song captures very well the spirit of hope we want and need right now. Is this the anthem for 2021? 3. Jamie Lynn Spears - Follow Me (9 points this month, 9 points total) The artist who brought us our 2016 EOY #1 Sleepover is back, with a remake of her Zoey 101 theme song. The 2000s nostalgia wave is really beginning, it seems. 2. Jo Ellen Pellman - Unruly Heart (5 points this month, 5 points total) I can tell that this song has great potential to go much further. 1. Taylor Swift & Maren Morris - You All Over Me (16 points this month, 19 points total, cumulative #1 of the year) Last time, I said to expect this to be a strong contender for the top spot in the next monthly review. Now it has become the overall number one for April. This also means Taylor Swift has had the overall monthly number one for 3 out of the past 4 months! Hi Kath! :) Thanks for liking my music!  Party Magic was first released over a decade ago. I'm glad people are still liking it now! :cheer:

Thanks for all the great comments! :cheer:  SSP, Dalek Turret, and Riser, I was surprised that I actually liked Therefore I Am, having not been a big fan of Billie Eilish's music before. But life is full of surprises, right? Adam G, Sven, SSP, and seltinpixmile, it's wonderful to see so many people agree that Sacrifice is a great song! Hope it does better in the world out there! Jade, JSG, and Sven, it's great that you are appreciating the Taylor Swift tracks. To date, Taylor has already had 39 chart toppers in my chart. She has topped the charts every year from 2008 to 2021 except 2016. This month so far, Taylor Swift has been doing very well with You All Over Me. Meanwhile, To Begin Again (Ingrid Michaelson), Follow Me (Jamie Lynn Spears), Dancing With The Devil (Demi Lovato) and Deja Vu (Olivia Rodrigo) are all possibilities for the top 10.
