  1. Or is it an artifact of changing chart rules? I've been thinking about this a lot lately. I've even written a short article about it. Basically, country has always been big in America (and Canada and Australia), so the mystery should be why these countries weren't constantly having country hits in the top 10 in the past, rather than why country is doing so well now. What do you think? Also, besides country, what other genres do you think could be historically/currently undercounted by the charts?
  2. Same here. But's it's been happening for a long time for me. I guess I just don't jump at every new sound like when I was 15, because I've sort of heard the mediocre stuff over and over again by this point. This means something has to really 'prove itself' for me to like it.
  3. Thanks Sergej and DaTilt! Good to see someone else liking Get In Girl! Also nice to see that About You Now is still getting some love. It's almost 20 years old now.

  6. Includes both new and Millennial-retro hits Chart Synopsis Meghan Trainor gets her 23rd chart topper on my charts, and continues to be the person with the 3rd most chart toppers (although she is still well behind Taylor Swift, who is in second place). Also, congratulations to Ella Langley, who has become only the 4th artist ever to have a number one in my chart well before blowing up and topping the Billboard Hot 100. Langley first topped my chart in 2024, and has now topped the Billboard Hot 100 in 2026. In this regard, she follows in the footsteps of Carly Rae Jepsen (2007 TECharts 2012 Billboard), Kim Petras (2008 TECharts 2022 Billboard) and Sabrina Carpenter (2017 TECharts 2024 Billboard). 1. 7. In an effort to promote storytelling, or 'singer-songwriter style' music, from this month onwards, these charts will be divided into a 'storytelling' section and an 'others' section. 9. Interesting one. I voted Love Story simply because it went #1 in my own personal chart (in October 2008) while My Life Would Suck Without You peaked at #2 (in February 2009). Some other interesting facts: 1) Love Story was Taylor Swift's first #1 in my chart. She would go on to have more than 40! By comparison, while My Life Would Suck Without You missed out, Kelly Clarkson already had multiple #1s by that time, her first #1 being A Moment Like This way back in 2002. So Kelly was way more established back then. 2) While Love Story and My Love Would Suck Without You didn't have a chart battle in my chart, because they peaked at different times (in fact in different years), My Life Would Suck Without You actually battled White Horse, Taylor Swift's second #1, for the top spot, and lost. So My Life Would Suck Without You actually lost out to a Taylor Swift song in my chart, and this is the reason why it was never #1.

  12. This is great! Any chance for #1?
  13. I must be in the minority here, but my favorite version was Band Aid 30. Plus I think they should have made a Band Aid 36 for the pandemic (i.e. in 2020).

Go Apt! It has to be Apt, if there is any justice. Honestly, I can't see the appeal of the other main competitors. (Edit: Die With A Smile is also good, and should have been #1, but it's too late. Also, Sabrina Carpenter's stuff this year is overrated, and I'm saying this as a fan of 7 years standing.)
  15. I guess I just want her to go back to her old style, which she is moving further and further away from all the time.
