  1. Here is my track by track review of The Saturday's debut album Chasing Lights 01. If This Is Love - 8/10 The album opens strong with the lead single. A fun and slick electro pop number with the sampled synth riff of Yazoo’s ‘Situation’ which works really well here and gives it a nice catchy sound and along with the layered vocals and warm harmonies that builds perfectly into the chorus. 02. Up - 10/10 The perfect follow up single is next with prominent siren sounds, bleeping synths and a catchy upbeat tempo with plenty of slick production moments as it builds to an anthemic chorus with strong vocals from the group. Yes, this is definitely one of their best singles in their discography. 03. Keep Her - 6/10 This has a very angrier tone to it with its growling synth lines and deep bass, which matches the tone of the song nicely and the vocal harmonies are decent on here as-well. But overall, it’s nice but a very forgettable album filler and not something I’d go back to. 04. Issues - 9/10 This is a nice ballad awash with acoustic guitars and mellow yet catchy beats that gives this a warm sound and solid vocal harmonies. This was a nice contrast to the first 2 singles and showed another side to the group. 05. Lies - 7/10 A nice upbeat number laden with chugging synth pads with some decent vocals and harmonies. This track is decent but lacks the catchiness of some of the previous tracks. 06. Work - 10/10 A fantastic number that bursts open with bleeping synths before heading into the catchy verses and thumping chorus with plenty of flawless vocals from the girls and given plenty of time to show off their range on this cracking number. This was a stellar single choice that well and truly deserved so much more than its mere #22 peak. 07. Chasing Lights - 8/10 The title track is up next, and this is a softer mid-tempo number with acoustic guitars and soft synth soundscapes that goes with the vocal harmonies beautifully. This is a strong album track but certainly not single material. 08. Set Me Off - 9/10 Another fun upbeat track with rapid acoustic guitars and some catchy synth beats. This is a firm standout moment on this album. 09. Fall - 6/10 The second ballad on this album and it’s very paint-by numbers. This does have some warm heartfelt vocal harmonies, but this doesn’t quite standout amongst the far better tracks. 10. Vulnerable - 5/10 Another plodding mid-tempo number with simple beats and guitars, but the track feels very disjointed between the verses and chorus. 11. Why Me, Why Now - 7/10 Thankfully things pick up with this nice bouncy little number with sharp vocals and bubbling synths layered underneath which gives this a decent catchy vibe. 12. Just Can’t Get Enough - 5/10 This was added to the later editions of the album and became their official Comic Relief single. Originally sung by Depeche Mode in 1981 and probably not the most adventurous choice of cover and the only thing they do with it is they sped it up and added generic pop beats over the synths. Not the worst cover version in the world, but this feels very dated by today standards. Avg.7.5.
  2. This was a fantastic video thanks for posting. Loved her single picks for 'The Lost Tapes', 'Drum' & 'The Beat Is Gone' both are killer standouts. I agree with her views on 'Sweet 7' it was such a godawful record & NOT a Sugababes album, an abomination from start to finish & incredibly dated. I bet she's glad that her face wasn't on it & glad we didn't get another album of 'Heidi/Amelle/Jade' lineup as judging from 'Freedom' it would have been dire, faceless, soulless & vapid & again I cannot stress this enough, NOT a Sugababes album as even 'S7' didn't deserve to have their names on it.

  6. Here are my views on each contestant in this episode (its a long read) Mistress Isabelle Brooks – Her racer look was definitely the truest to RuPaul’s original and the catchphrases all over it from prior plus sized queens was a fantastic detail and a celebration of seasons past and who she is as a drag queen. Her ball look was incredible, visually exciting and kinda scary at the same time. Then her final look was stunning, gorgeous, elegant, especially for a design challenge. Mistress knocked all 3 of these looks out of the park & probably should have won this challenge. Spice – I think the writing was on the wall for Spice after her talk with Ru and Carson, saying that her entire season runway looks weren’t very interesting & after last week where despite losing all of her lipsyncs she got saved by pure riggory. As for her looks in this episode firstly I enjoyed her first racer look, the silhouette and details were stunning and true to her persona. Her ball look was decent and visually interesting, but it felt very seen that before. Her final look wasn’t great and had technical issues with the bottom half and the top half not fitting very well. But I still don’t think that she deserved bottom 2 though, safe maybe low because of that last look, but not bottom 2. Luxx Noir London – Firstly didn’t care for her first racer look, it was very basic and cluttered especially with that black bra showing. Her second look was amazing, high fashion, elevated and definitely her strongest out of her 3 looks. The final look was under-whelming, despite having an interesting concept, it just felt off to me with its proportions and NOT as great as she thought it was. Overall I do agree with her safe placement this episode, her second look saved her I’d say. Marcia, Marcia, Marcia – Really liked the pastel colours of her racer look and her hair and make-up has definitely improved this week. Her bag look was quite ugly and not very interesting. Her final look was strong, fun, beautifully tailored with a stunning colour palette. A solid safe performance from her on this episode. Salina Estitties – Her first look was cute and fun, everything else well…her second look was horrendous, while I do commend her for doing something else other than the ball or bag balls (which is what everybody else pretty much did), there was too much going on, it was a mess. Her final look wasn’t good, it didn’t fit her very well and it looked like a duvet cover. She fully deserved her bottom 2 placement this episode. Malaysia Babydoll Foxx – She did fine in all three categories tonight. Her first look was a bit unfinished and plain, but still managed to look polished so I’ll give her a pass. The second look was definitely her best of the 3. Then the third look was okay, but not very memorable though. Loosey LaDuca – I used to like her, but over the last couple of weeks she has been insufferable and certainly seems to be getting shafted by the editing (which does make great TV). Her looks in this episode weren’t up to much. The first one was great very camp and cartooney, but it was all downhill from there. Her second look WTF was this, it seemed very out of character for her to go this unpolished, it was just doggy bags glued to a white dress, hideous & the WORST look of the episode for sure. The final look was also a major fail, the details weren’t finessed and the concept fell flat. Loosey SHOULD have been in the bottom 2. Sasha Colby – I know a lot of people were mad that she won this episode, but personally I didn’t mind and thought that all 3 of her looks were amazing and she looked incredible as always. Her first look she looked breath-taking and loved her interpretation of the racer look. Her second look was campy, fun and ridiculous, and yet still maintaining that beauty and glamour that she always has. Then her final look was another wow moment for me, simple yet effective and elegant at the same time. Anetra – I’m glad that his queen is finally getting some love after fading into the background during the last couple of episodes and despite winning the first episode I was worried that she was gonna get a similar run to Widow Von Du from season 12, who also won the first episode and then was just safe until her elimination. But after last week Anetra really impressed me. Her first look was fantastic, very casual and yet sexy at the same time with a unique colour palette. But her second look was horrendous, it lacked attention to detail or any sort of vision. Thankfully for her 3rd look all was forgiven as this was amazing. The jewels on the back in a shape of a spine was OMG incredible and loved that shape of the bottom half of the dress. She fully deserved her high placement tonight as out of all the crystal looks Anetra’s was the BEST. My personal placements for this episode WIN: Mistress Isabelle Brooks HIGH: Sasha Colby, Anetra LOW: Spice, (I'd also put Luxx there for her poor & deluded attitude) BTM 2: Salina Estitties & Loosey LaDuca Spice did NOT deserve bottom 2 at all, okay her 3rd look was a mess but her first 2 were decent. Loosey however failed at 2 out of the 3 looks. That lipsync though was DREADFUL, the worst of the season so far, very surprised it wasn't a double SASHAY. From a production standpoint they just didn't know what to do with Spice anymore and plus she didn't really excel at any of the challenges or lipsyncs and therefore her storyline is over. The same goes for Salina who will probably be out next week, due to her story coming to a natural end and plus she's been in the bottom twice already & can't really see her progressing any further. My other prediction for next week will be Loosey also ending up in the bottom 2 with Salina, as she is really cracking under the pressure & judging from next week's clip with her having a spat with Mistress, all of this will lead to her nearly getting eliminated next week.

  19. Love this track and it did save the 'X' campaign after the awful lead single '2 Hearts' came and became quickly forgotten about. Never understood why 'The One' was never chosen as the lead single, it could have easily given the album a much better starting point.
  20. Cherry Bomb, in-fact all 3 of these should have been on the X album instead of 'Cosmic', 'All I See' & 'Nu-Di-Ty'

  23. This was a good episode with what looks like will be a series regular The Lipsync Smackdown, considering that we haven't seen a lot of these queens lipsync yet and here are my thoughts on each one. Malaysia Babydoll Foxx vs Marcia, Marcia, Marcia - Wow some of these queens trying to be tactical with their choices and falling flat on their face. Malaysia thought she had this in the bag and quite frankly couldn't keep up with Marcia X3. Malaysia did do a good job but the outcome was already obvious at the midway point. Marcia got the advantage by picking the song and really served what the song needed. Loosey LaDuca vs Spice - Despite Spice getting to choose the song and was dressed for it, Loosey totally killed it while Spice came off looking campy instead of 80's rocker. Overall this lipsync was fine, but a bit forgettable, but NOT the worst of the night by any means. Salina Estitties vs Luxx Noir London - This felt like the surprise sleeper hit no one saw coming. Salina choosing the song gave her the advantage and totally SLAYED it , hitting every emotional beat and comedy drops, she was unstoppable. Luxx was also decent and served great emotion, but she didn't gel with the music quite as well. Mistress Isabelle Brooks vs Jax - Now this was interesting as it's the one that caused the most debate. Mistress did a great job focusing on the song's lyrics and energy and giving a fun mix of comedy and flair. Jax was landing powerful stunts and matching the beat in every way. But honestly I can see why Mistress won, because the stunts Jax were great but she's done them in the last 2 lipsyncs she was in and sometimes whether you like it or not a different element will pull a Queen ahead. Anetra vs Sasha Colby - The strongest so far and certainly the closest race yet. Both were serving stunts, hair flips and sexy moves. This was the perfect type of song for these 2 queens. but Sasha was the one who really pulls you in with a more commanding stage presence which pulled her ahead of Anetra. Malaysia Babydoll Foxx vs Spice - This was the WORST one of the night, neither knew the words and neither captured the energy of the song. Spice didn't help matters by turing away a lot which is why she probably lost. Luxx Noir London vs Anetra vs Jax - This was another strong lipsync and all three served the song well, but Luxx was the one who suited the song best out of the 3. Anetra vs Jax - Firstly I do commend Anetra for not taking the easy route and picking Spice and getting an easy win and instead chose someone who would give her a challenge. Anetra totally had this in the bag with her stunts, duck walks and comedy which created a powerful performance. Jax again did stunts, but at least she toned it down this time and tried to capture the essence of the song, but her fate was sealed unfortunately and given her track record I don't think she would have lasted much longer in the competition anyway. Next week is the ball which could be interesting, I would LOVE for Sasha to get another win and the ones that may be in trouble will be Spice, Marica & Salina. I think it may be Spice's time to go next week.
  24. My prediction for Top 4 are 'Sasha Colby', 'Mistress Isabelle Brooks', 'Luxx Noir London' & 'Loosey LaDuca', think that 'Anetra; will finish around 5, 'Marcia, Marcia, Marcia' will finish 6 or vice versa. Queens I Like Luxx Noir London Sasha Colby Mistress Isabelle Brooks Anetra Marcia, Marcia, Marcia I Don’t Care for Salina Estitties Spice Season out of 10 7/10 Eliminated Queen I Liked the Most Irene Dubois
