Firstly that reading challenge was ummm brutal, Anita Wigl'it rightfully won that (it wasn't very hard) & perhaps will be her only shining moment in this season. Her snatch game was highly disappointing & the bottom placements could have gone either way between her and Silky. Ra'Jah & Icesis were the clear winners & rightfully so, (nice to see Donatella Versace done right). 2 former Snatch Game winners bombing (not the first time its happened) & Victoria Scone was also pretty bad, maybe if she had that Kim Woodburn freakout then she might have been safe at least. Stephanie Prince 2nd week in a row in the bottom & sadly yes it was her time to go & in my opinion it was way too soon for her to comeback. Also this continues that troubling trend of Asian queens falling into the bottom with Snatch Game, 'Le Fil' is a recent example of that. The episode was still decent despite the underwhelming snatch game, the run-ways were amazing, The Celestial Bodies runway was just superb, Ra'Jah was one of my personal faves along with Stephanie, Victoria & Icesis. Next week is the 'Ball Challenge' & predict another win for Icesis & maybe Ra'Jah or Victoria. I predict that Anita will be the next one out.

Just a little idea I'm trying out as a new moderator for this forum. What's your fave & least fave lip syncs from season 1 of RuPaul's Drag Race. It only makes sense to kick this off with the one that started it all & every week or so post another season. There's 7 lip-syncs from season 1, including the one for the grand final. Bye Bye Baby

I did vote in this yesterday so here are my thoughts. Both Danny & Cheddar being the final 2 was well deserved & both are some of the strongest contestants in Drag Race history, having 2 of the finalists winning 4 challenges each, don't think that's ever happened before. I would have been happy with either winning the season. Out of the top 4 who deserves to be here obviously Danny & Cheddar deserves to be here, & actually glad that Black Peppa made it here as-well, I know she struggled with a lot of the challenges after week 1, but she slayed each of those lip-syncs and earned her spot in the final 4. While I do like Jonbers Blonde, I honestly don't think she deserved to make the top 4, no tea no shade, but she didn't win any of the challenges & spent quite a few weeks in the low/bottom positions. Although she did have a few great performances such as the Improv, Rusical, Snatch Game & the Roast challenges, especially the latter which only had 2 out of the final 5 giving decent performances. I'd have ranked Jonbers overall in the final 5 or 6. Out of the eliminated queens Dakota Schiffer SHOULD have made the top 4 & didn't deserve her bottom and elimination on the Makeover challenge. The one-time Michelle Visage becomes the head judge, she made a complete balls up & the bottom 2 should have been Pixie & Jonbers with Pixie most likely getting the chop. Plus Dakota was the only other Queen (apart from Cheddar & Danny) to win more than 1 challenge. My overall rating for this season is 7/10. The first half had an 8 rating, but the series kinda lost momentum for me with the makeover challenge & Dakota''s elimination.

Excellent track and the perfect final single that rounded off the era beautifully. I do admit that it took me a while to fully appreciate this gem, as at the time I wanted the title track to be the next single but looking back I'm so glad they opted for this as 'CIMW' carries the same sophisticated flow the previous 3 singles had. Anything coming after those mammoth 3 would have paled next to them.

In This Life

'Everything I Wanted' is a decent track but wasn't the right 2nd single choice in my opinion, it's more of a grower & may have worked better as the 4th single. My follow-up single choice would have been 'Heaven Can Wait' - its far more fun, catchy and memorable & could have kept the era's momentum going a little longer. The "Girl" singles run: AUG '97 - 'All I Wanna Do' OCT '97 - 'Heaven Can Wait' FEB '98 - 'Disremembrance' MAY '98 - 'Everything I Wanted' Plus keep 'Coconut' as an Australian only single. Also I would have brought 'Disremembrance' a month forward, instead of the 5 month gap it originally had from the previous single.
