  6. My review of Rachel Stevens: Come and Get It 01. So Good - 10/10 The album opens with this cracking with this epic electro pop number with Rachel’s defiant vocals flows along the relentless pounding beats and pulsating synths, thanks to the slick nuanced production. Everything about this gem is superbly inventive. 02. I Said Never Again (But Here We Are) - 10/10 Relentless thrill ride with chugging electric guitar riffs tearing through the melody that gives this song a sort of glam rock feel to it. The track has a fun rebellious quality to it and Rachel’s vocals sound great over the thumping beats. Excellent track nothing more, nothing less. 03. Crazy Boys - 10/10 This continues the glam rock electro sound only this time with added timpani drums that gives the production a stunning atmospheric feel, Rachel’s breathy vocals makes light work over the catchy lyrics and cool throbbing beats. 04. I Will Be There - 9/10 Slowing things with this electro ballad which gives Rachel plenty of space to show off her vocals over the dream-like soundscapes with pulsating synth underlines it as it weaves the verses to the chorus effortlessly. 05. Negotiate with Love - 8/10 A bold choice for a lead single and maybe way too left-field to fully work. But anyway this track is still pretty great with its intense bassline, frantic synth stabs and surf guitars helps the somewhat mellow track flow pretty well thanks to its rich production and plus its chorus is quite catchy. Maybe this could have fared better as a later single instead of leading this campaign. 06. It’s All About Me - 7/10 The sample of The Cure’s ‘Lullaby’ works well over the catchy pop beats and while the track is beautifully formed, it’s definitely album filler material. 07. Secret Garden - 8/10 Nice and rather soulful piece of electro pop with beautiful wandering piano strings and throbbing basslines. A gorgeous number. 08. Nothing Good About This Goodbye - 10/10 Excellent mid-tempo number with pulsating basslines, bouncy synths, addictive hooks and catchy chorus. This really should have been a single as everything about this is just simply stunning thanks to the stellar production. 09. Some Girls - 10/10 An odd inclusion on here considering it was already included on her debut, however it’s a welcome addition as it’s a brilliant track with its off the wall production, grinding basslines, thumping electro beats and frantic synth stabs. Bouncy and catchy as hell 10. Je M’Appelle - 8/10 Starting off slow before the beats picks up slightly with this electro ballad with Rachel’s sultry vocal harmonies adding a nice touch to the track. This has more of an R&B feel to it, but still fits well on here. 11. Funny How - 10/10 Fantastic catchy bop with bouncy pop beats that has a very disco feel to it. The song is catchy as hell and vocally and musically it flows together beautifully and offers something a little different to the electro pop numbers. 12. Every Little Thing - 8/10 Another bouncy pop track that goes well with the previous track, bouncy, catchy and full of fun. 13. Dumb, Dumb - 9/10 An excellent and interesting closer to the album with this fantastic bouncy synth number with Rachel’s confident yet strong vocals. Avg.9.0

  8. Just give this another listen recently and its a really good album with some incredible moments, here's my review for it: 01. Afraid - 8/10 The opening track and sets the tone with light vocals with cool house beats mixed in. The song is chorus heavy and it’s a decent start to the album. 02. Maneater - 10/10 The lead single (for the European market) and great way for Nelly Furtado to showcase her new sound with its cool dance beats combined with 80’s styled electro synths combined with her confident and sexy vocals, this is an amazing track through and through. 03. Promiscuous - 10/10 The perfect follow up that goes hand in hand with the previous track with its sensual sounds, funky hip-hop beats & heavy drum bass. A playful infusion of different genres thanks to the stellar Timbaland production and of course there’s those catchy hooks that brings everything together perfectly. 04. Glow - 6/10 The first filler moment on here with muddy vocals that gets lost in the odd melodies. This feels very overproduced. 05. Showtime - 5/10 Another forgettable moment on here, this feels very choppy in places, the verses are quite smooth though, but lacks a strong hook. 06. Ho Hay Igual - 7/10 The first Spanish track on here and its pretty good as it infuses a modern sound with 90’s dance beats & it’s quite catchy. 07. Te Busque - 8 The second Spanish track and the albums first ballad. This has a nice flow to it as the beat picks up to a faster tempo. A great number with strong vocals from both artists. 08. Say It Right - 10/10 The best track on here for sure with this beautifully crafted pop track with atmospheric production, sparse beats that gives this a haunting yet otherworldly feel. The way Nelly’s hypnotic vocals blend with the chorus and trance-like melodies is sublime. So glad this became a single as it would have been CRIMINAL not to release this masterpiece. 09. Do It - 8/10 Cute and catchy pop track with snappy beats, cascading multi-layered vocals and fun 80’s styled synths. Sure this way be a little lightweight compared to the other singles, but this retro styled bop is a hell of a good time. 10. In God’s Hands - 9/10 The second ballad on the album and its simply stunning with mellow production, with the light guitars and violins woven into the soft melodies and Nelly’s vocals are very pretty yet emotive that gives this song a wonderful warm feeling to it. One of my firm faves on here. 11. Wait for You - 6/10 A nice little pop number with some fun bhangra inspired beats, but overall the song feels very forgettable especially coming after 3 bops in a row. 12. All Good Things (Come to An End) - 10/10 Not quite the closing number on the album, but this would have been more than a fitting end on here with this gorgeous ballad that became the album’s 3rd single (in the UK) with its atmospheric folk-like production that presents an ethereal quality to it. The vague yet bittersweet lyrics lends a hint of intelligence to this rather sombre number and shows how diverse this album really is. Avg.8.083

  13. Drag Race Simulator Don't know if anyone on here come across this, but this site is a hell of a lot of fun, you can create your own cast (made up or from other seasons) & choose whatever format you want, its highly addictive, I've done several casts and I think it works at random. So give it a go.
