  1. You And I again for me
  2. Welcome Buzzjack to Rouind 6 of Lady Gaga Least Fave Single Poll & after a very close battle G.U.Y. becomes the latest song to exit with just 5 votes. The song has always been a bit polarizing when it comes to Gaga's discography with some loving it and others hating it, as for me I'm somewhere in the middle. It never normally lasts very long in these polls, but I do think if the song became a hit, then it would have a much warmer fan reception. Considering the time it came out, any other song from the album would have had the same fate. 9 other songs got votes. 'You & I' wasn't far behind with 3 votes. 'Million Reasons' and 'Stupid Love' both got 2 votes each. Then 'Judas', 'Do What U Want', 'Perfect Illusion', 'The Cure', 'Always Remember Us This Way' & 'Die With A Smile' each gained 1 vote each. 25 songs left & same rules apply just vote for your least fave Gaga single from the poll above and the one with the most votes will be gone by the next round which will be in about a week's time, so get voting. Please can the highest song NOT have just 5 votes this time, it's getting a bit boring with almost every highest voted song getting 5 votes. Also surprised that 'LoveGame' hasn't gained any votes yet. Results So Far: G.U.Y. - 5/27% 911 - 5/13% I'll Never Love Again - 7/19% The Dead Dance - 5/23% Joanne - 5/31% Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say) - 6/13% Hold My Hand - 7/15% Til It Happens To You - 16/35%
  3. Like I said in my post it would have been interesting to see how 'Lover' would have fared, coz it was planned for around March/April 2002, I remember seeing it on release schedules & was excited for it as it was one of my faves from 'Read My Lips'. They should have went ahead with it anyway. it could have easily been another top 10 hit for her & still kept the June release for 'Get Over You' along with the repacked version of the album. So the release schedule could have went like this AUG '01 - Take Me Home DEC '01 - Murder On The Dancefloor MAR '02 - Lover JUNE '02 - Get Over You/Move This Mountain NOV '02 - Music Gets The Best of Me Also I would have moved 'MGTBOM' to around September or October instead of a 5 month gap between releases. Also of note 'The Universe Is You' was also being lined up as the 4th single at some point, but that was during the original album cycle before they changed gears with the re-release. I understand the label doing this because the reception to the album was rather polarizing with people (including myself) expecting tracks more along the lines of the first 2 singles. The sales were struggling before the re-release came along, so it was a smart move I guess.
  4. Only 2 days to go, let's try and break this tie before the next round
  5. No substance in your style #05. Get Over You - 8.843 Highest Scores: 11: (Josh, HarryGarfield), 10: (Viper, Jester), Lowest Scores: 7/7.5: (AllStarBySmashMouth, Scene, dandy) Ranking at #5 due to it getting more high scores is 'Get Over You', released in June 2002 as the 3rd single from Sophie's debut album 'Read My Lips'. The track didn't feature on the original version of the album, 'Lover' was originally due to be released as the 3rd single but due to the success of the previous singles, some additional material was recorded to keep in line with the radio friendly disco pop sound that she already established. In the UK the song was released as a double a-side alongside 'Move This Mountain', In most countries 'GOY' received a solo release. The song became another success for Sophie as it peaked at #3 on the UK singles chart and to date it ranks as Sophie's 5th biggest selling single. Elsewhere it also charted well by reaching top 5 peaks in New Zealand, Australia, Netherlands and Denmark, top 10 peaks in Czech Republic, Romania and Spain as well as top 20 peaks in 6 other countries. Now it would have been interesting to see how 'Lover' would have fared if given a chance as it was more in line with the synth laden electronica sound that featured on the album, but releasing this new track was probably the smartest move as its more finely attuned to the sound and image that Sophie had already projected. The song is quintessential early 00's electro pop music that's characterized by its French house-influenced production combined with electro synths, upbeat catchy rhythms, witty lyrics and a fun detached vocal style that adds a distinctive quirky charm that's very much Sophie Ellis-Bextor. This is without a doubt one of Sophie's finest singles of her stellar career.
  6. Right then guys we are now down to our final 5 and they consist of = Groovejet (If This Ain't Love) Murder On The Dancefloor Get Over You Heartbreak (Made Me A Dancer) Bittersweet Thoughts? Predictions? Feel free to share..
  7. My love's gonna find you #06. Catch You - 8.843 Highest Scores: 10: (Nina West, Paddington James, Jessie Where, JosephStyles, Jade), Lowest Scores: 7/7.5: (dandy, Jester) At the #6 spot is 'Catch You', released in February 2007 as the lead single from Sophie's 3rd studio album 'Trip The Light Fantastic' and was written by Cathy Dennis, Rhys Barker and Greg Kurstin and produced by Kurstin. The single was first announced on New Year's Eve 2006, where Sophie performed the song on the BBC's "New Year Live" show. Upon release it gained positive critical reviews and face immediate competition on the charts against the likes of Kelis, The Fray, Take That, Justin Timberlake and Mika. It managed to reach a #8 peak on the UK singles chart becoming her 7th and final UK top 10 hit. Elsewhere it saw moderate success by hitting a top 20 peak in Italy, top 40 peak in Ireland, top 50 in Australia and minor positions in Netherlands and Switzerland. This acting scored the same average as the #5 song, but that was placed higher due to it getting some 11's. This is a brilliant comeback single for Sophie that blends her usual upbeat dance pop style with a polished rock edge and some cool electro beats that keeps the pace manic and dramatic at the same time. This deserved a way higher peak than #8, should have been top 5 at the very least, but the 4 year gap probably didn't help. Shame that this was her final top 10 hit as she deserved so many more. A solid comeback single nonetheless and stands as a firm highlight in her discography.
  8. Magic stays where myth remains #07. Me & My Imagination - 8.718 Highest Scores: 10: (Viper, Scene, Liam.k., Jester), Lowest Scores: 7/7.5: (Jessie Where, HarryGarfield, dandy) At #7 is the fantastic 'Me & My Imagination', released in May 2007 as the 2nd single from Sophie's 3rd studio album 'Trip The Light Fantastic'. It was written by Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Hannah Robinson and co-written and produced by Matt Prime. Upon release the song gained critical acclaim from music critics and despite strong radio play it only managed to peak at #23 on the UK singles chart. Controversy arose when iTunes failed to add the song until a week after it was supposed to be released and Sophie herself believed that the song could have went top 10 if that problem had not occurred. The song was prominently used in several episodes of the Spanish television series 'Supermodelo', the Spanish version of America's Next Top Model. This is perhaps the biggest what if's in Sophie's career as how can an immaculate pop song like this underperform, it's criminal. The track combines a crisp, recurring string motif against a tough electro-pop backdrop. Intelligent and catchy, this is pure pop perfection and was the perfect choice for a second single, it stands as one of Sophie's greatest singles in her extensive discography.
  9. Once this gets to another page then #7 will posted. My clue for what it will be is that its NOT a lead single
  10. Oh well I was totally wrong ☹️ Thought that Emma Bunton song would be a strong contender for the top 5 on here. Great song though and in my opinion its the greatest Spice Girl solo track ever. Hard to believe that 70's German porn was cited as inspiration for 'Maybe'.
  11. Jack Peñate - Torn On The Platform
  12. Rik Waller - I Will Always Love You
  13. Put on your confidence like make-up #08. Freedom of the Night - 8.656 Highest Scores: 10: (Liam.k., Jester), Lowest Scores: 7.5: (Mango, Jade) The last of Sophie's 2020's era singles drop now at #8 with 'Freedom of the Night', released in October 2024 as the lead single from Sophie's 8th studio album 'Perimenopop'. Following the resurgence of 'Murder on the Dancefloor' after its inclusion in the 2023 film 'Saltburn', Sophie signed a new record deal with Universal Music Group and this song marked her first major label single in 14 years. The song was written by Sophie herself alongside Richard Stannard, Duck Blackwell and Shura and upon release it peaked at #5 on the UK Downloads chart and #8 on the Sales chart, this would her highest charting single on those charts in several years. The music video was directed by Sophie Muller and Theo Adams, and serves as a continuation to the video for 'Murder On The Dancefloor' with Sophie taking on the role as a dance mom determined to see her daughter win a dance competition. Colin Stinton also reprised his role from the previous video as one of the dance judges. This marks a solid comeback for Sophie as it blends modern pop production with a nostalgic disco pop feel. Brimming with confidence, strong beats and a solid chorus resulting in a fun classy pop tune and one of her best releases in several years. This was a great lead single choice and shame that it didn't make more of a chart impact upon release.
  14. Week 12 Ranking: Myki Meeks - [08-10-08-08-06-01-02-02-04-03-01] Darlene Mitchell - [09-11-04-06-08-03-06-04-05-01-02] Juicy Love Dion - [10-05-01-05-02-09-07-07-06-07-03] Jane Don't - [03-01-02-03-03-02-03-01-01-02-04] Nini Coco - [01-03-03-04-05-06-01-05-07-04-05] Discord Adams - [04-09-09-09-07-04-04-06-03-05-06] OUT DD Fuego - [12-13] Mandy Mango - [14-12-11] Briar Blush - [11-07-12-11] Ciara Myst - [05-06-06-02-09] Vita VonTessa Starr - [02-04-13-01-11-10] Mia Starr - [06-02-07-07-01-08-09] Athena Dion - [07-14-05-12-04-05-05-08] Kenya Pleaser - [13-08-10-10-10-07-08-03-02-06]
  15. Gonna predict that Pink - Get The Party Started will drop next or maybe Christina Milian - AM to PM
  16. Let's leave this world behind #09. Take Me Home - 8.531 Highest Scores: 10: (Nina West, Josh, Jessie Where, Jester), Lowest Scores: 6: (Mango) At the #9 spot is Sophie's debut solo single 'Take Me Home', released in August 2001 as the lead single from Sophie's debut album 'Read My Lips'. The song was originally recorded by Cher back in 1979. Being a cover of Cher's song, the song retains writing credits for Bob Esty and Michele Aller, while Ellis-Bextor included new lyrics written by herself. Upon release the song was a commercial success by peaking at #2 on the UK singles chart and managed some success worldwide with a top 10 peak in Ireland and a top 20 peak in New Zealand, as well as making minor impressions in Italy, Germany and Netherlands. Before the release of the cover, Cher's management deemed the lyrics overly sexual, but Sophie later admitted in her autobiography that she made this fact up. Despite the song being a huge success, it was largely overshadowed by her follow up single 'Murder On The Dancefloor'. Even to this day this gem of a track still seems largely forgotten. This marked a great debut for Sophie that would set the tone for the rest of her career. I do like the original Cher version, but this is a fresh and refined reworking which makes this a perfect example of her early 00's disco pop sound that has aged remarkably well. Catchy, camp and brimming with style, this marks a perfect introduction to one of the most interesting artists of the era. Yes this doesn't quite pop in the same way as 'Murder On The Dancefloor' does, but nonetheless its still a fantastic track and a solid starting point.
  17. I think it's time for another
  18. That Stace Orrico song is pretty solid, liked it at the time but haven't listened to it in years.
  19. Welcome Buzzjack to Round 5 of Lady Gaga's least fave singles poll & 2 songs left us in the last round with I'll Never Love Again gaining 7 votes & 911 getting 5 votes and finishing in 27th and 28th place respectively. Neither of which are essential Gaga songs so now big losses. 11 other songs gained votes in the last round. 'You And I' was close to the chopping block with 4 votes. 'G.U.Y.', 'Million Reasons' & 'Stupid Love' each gained 3 votes each. 'Applause', 'Perfect Illusion' & 'The Cure' each got 2. The finally 'Judas', 'Do What U Want', 'Always Remember Us This Way' & 'Die With A Smile' each got 1 vote each. Right then guys we are back to the traditional single voting rounds (for now). Just choose your Least Fave from the poll above which has 26 songs left and the 1 with the most will be voted out by the next round, which will be on 26/03/2026 Results so Far: 911 - 5/13% I'll Never Love Again - 7/19% The Dead Dance - 5/23% Joanne - 5/31% Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say) - 6/13% Hold My Hand - 7/15% Til It Happens To You - 16/35%
  20. The next song to drop will be a lead single Any guesses?
  21. This will be closing tomorrow at midnight, so get your votes in while you can...
  22. Pay attention to the things that I said #10. Hypnotized (ft Wuh Oh) - 8.375 Highest Scores: 10: (Mango, JosephStyles), Lowest Scores: 6: (Nina West) Kicking off the top 10 is 'Hypnotized', a collaboration between Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Scottish musician Wuh Oh, released in July 2022 by Douglas Valentine and Cooking Vinyl Records. Originally it was released as a standalone single, it was later included on the deluxe edition of Sophie's 7th studio album 'Hana' & peaked at #37 on the UK downloads chart. The song was written by Wuh Oh and Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and produced by Wuh Oh and Sega Bodega. It was first performed live by Sophie on her 'Kitchen Disco Tour' in March 2022 and includes an extra verse and was included on the concert version of the album titled 'Kitchen Disco - Live at the London Palladium'. This song has really grown on me since this rate began and wished that I had given it a higher score 😕. Fast paced, melodic and off-kilter, this song is a hell of a lot of fun and blends experimental melodies with her signature dance pop sound successfully, resulting in one of Sophie's most bold and daring tracks. A solid little number from the latter half of Sophie's career.
  23. What a bland and boring season this was, weren't that keen on any of the finalists, but glad Kate didn't win
