  1. No more divided attention from here on in. All games will have their own unique kick-off times.
  2. Iran and America just don't go well together in 2026!
  3. South Africa 1-1 Canada Brazil 2-1 Japan Germany 2-1 Paraguay Netherlands 1-1 Morocco Ivory Coast 1-3 Norway France 4-0 Sweden Mexico 2-0 Ecuador England 2-0 Congo Belgium 1-1 Senegal United States 2-0 Bosnia & Herzegovina Spain 4-0 Algeria Spain 3-0 Austria
  4. They've managed to bottle being one of the top ranked 3rd placed teams as well! They've got what they deserve in the end.

  6. If Ghana don't beat Croatia later today then Scotland are officially out.
  7. Crazy finish to the Egypt Vs Iran match! This is another of those situations where the change in format could save Iran because that goal being ruled out for offside in stoppage time would have literally been the difference between one team going home (Egypt) and another staying in the competition (Iran). Instead it's Egypt who are the ones who finish with 5 points and in 2nd place.
  8. Wow! Who would have predicted that Cape Verde would qualify for the knockout stage prior to the tournament? not just that but to do it without having to rely on how other 3rd placed teams have done. Still no one can beat them by the looks of things! Argentina next for them and maybe a win on penalties after another 0-0 draw haha.
  9. Re Norway: Brazil will most likely be waiting for them in the Round 16 if they get there, whereas they could have potentially faced Germany instead if they were to win this group. Not sure who is stronger out of Germany and Brazil.
  10. Make that 4 goals now! He's completed his hat-trick.
  11. I think 64 teams would be too much. Really 32 is the most ideal number of teams but then the drawback is that new and unusual teams like Cape Verde and Curacao probably wouldn't make it.
  12. Dembele joining the golden boot party with 3 goals in total now.
  13. Turkey on the other hand decide to turn up now when the pressure is off and the result doesn't matter.
  14. I watched Paraguay Vs Australia and it was clear from very early that both teams were happy to get the 1 point that they needed to qualify and it came to pass in the end. I read an article earlier in the day about these kind of scenarios coming up in the last group matches and how the feeling of jeopardy has gone from the final round of group matches compared to the Qatar World Cup and it was mentioned that the tournament could be expanded to 64 teams to avoid this. BBC SportWorld Cup 2026: The games that show a 48-team tournament...Two matches in the final round of group games present the chance for two teams to simply play out a draw to qualify.

  16. South Korea themselves are lucky that there's a possible route for them via 3rd place otherwise this would be one of the biggest group stage bottle jobs of all time.
  17. My thoughts exactly! That is nuts, even in the old format of only the top 2 in each group going through they still would have made it. Truly unbelievable turnaround to be bottom at the start of the last round of group matches and end up 2nd.
  18. Re staying up late: I've done that for most of the games but there have been some games that I've physically not been able to stay awake for like Ghana Vs Panama, I dosed off for large parts of that and only woke up just before the stoppage time winner haha. I missed Colombia's first match for this same reason and missed their match against Congo due to having to get up very early. In fact Portugal Vs Uzbekistan is the only match I've seen from group K so far. I missed Portugal Vs Congo because of work and having to carry out some errands. I've missed both of Jordan's matches so far as well but will definitely tune in to their farewell match against Argentina on the weekend.
  19. South Africa Vs South Korea is definitely the match to watch in this group as that is the one with the most jeopardy and has the feel of a knockout stage match already.

The copium is strong with the commentator who keeps mentioning the possibility of getting through with progressively negative goal differences.

Vini Jr does get his 2nd goal after all. Not looking good for Scotland.
  22. Panama are officially out of the World Cup after this defeat to Croatia.

The 9 point group stage curse continues for England.
  24. Two goals now for Ronnie!
