  1. On demand services would be needed for the next two Olympic games for sure! I'm glad that the athletics will take place in week 1 at the 2028 games as that is by far my most anticipated event. I watched a tiny amount of the swimming during the 1st week but really I was just waiting for the track and field events to start. It was a lot of fun watching the athletics almost every evening and I watched it on Eurosport where it was pure 3 hour coverage of all the evening events. Certainly gonna miss that in these initial post Olympic days.
  2. We actually played well in the match and had the better chances. We just threw it away in the 90 minutes and the penalty shootout. Still there were encouraging things to take away from the match.
  3. A brand new season of fantasy football starts here! two leagues have been created, a main league based on overall fantasy points for the season and a head-to-head league which is based on individual gameweek scores between various competitors. Dobbo has won both leagues for the past 3 seasons but will anyone be able to stop him from making it 4 in a row? only one way to find out! The main league will remain open for anyone to join throughout the season, however for the head-to-head league you would need to enter your team before the Gameweek 1 deadline which is 18:30 UK time on Friday 16th August. Website: https://fantasy.premierleague.com/ Main league code: ywcfpt Head-to-head league code: ssnkm8
  4. Would people be interested in new fantasy leagues for the 2024/25 season?

Apparently Noah Lyles has Covid and he knew before he took part in the 200 m final. That would explain why he was wearing a mask before the race and why he looked so worn out after it. He should not have taken part but the accolade of winning both the 100 & 200 m gold medals was too much of a temptation for him to resist and now this is where it has got him. Not even a silver medal in the 200 m either. After winning 3 gold medals in the World Championships in recent years Grant Holloway finally got his first Olympic gold medal in the Men's 110 m hurdles.

If only Hudson-Smith had looked to his right as he was approaching the finish line like some other athletes have done. He would have seen Quincy Hall emerging at the front and then he could have dipped his head quicker than Quincy did which could have made the difference. That was a nasty fall from the Ethiopian athlete in the Men's Steeplechase final, I hope he will make a full recovery but that is bound to haunt him for the next 4 years if not for the rest of his life as he was in a good position up to that point to be in the medals. The women's pole vault final was really competitive once the bar had been raised to 4.85. The top 3 all did impressively well and it's nice to see a 1st Olympic gold medal for Nina Kennedy.
  7. No problem with Alvarez. Anything to make Man City weaker as a team gets a thumbs up from me!
  8. Don't let the door hit you on the way out Julian.

A fun evening of athletics. I really thought Kishane Thompson would take the men's 100 m gold but Noah Lyles just pipped him to it. It was so close between them with both having a time of 9.79 but a photo finish made the difference. Keely Hodgkinson comfortably winning her semi final in the women's 800 m, she will probably go on to win gold in the final. 3 medals for Ukraine was heart-warming to see as well including gold and bronze in the women's high jump. Canada won gold in the men's hammer throw.

It will probably get broken in the final barring any slip-ups. It's gonna take a mighty effort for anyone to take gold away from USA in that race.

The world record has just been broken by USA in the mixed 4x400 relay first heat!

  14. Buzzjack's Premier League Prediction Competition is back for the 2024/25 season! Last season saw King Rollo become the first person in a decade to win back-to-back titles. This season he will be going for a three-peat which has only ever been done once in the competition's history. LewisGT has come agonisingly close in the past two seasons to winning the competition finishing as runner up on both occasions. Will he go all the way this time? Can a former champion such as Dobbo or Rooney add another title to their name? or will we see a brand new name on the roll of honour at the end of the season? All will be revealed as the season unfolds! As always there will be many individual rounds to play for and personal best points tallies. Rules are the same as last season with 2pts for the correct result e.g. a win or draw or 5pts for the correct scoreline. Opening weekend (All kick of times are 15:00 BST unless stated otherwise) Friday 16th August Manchester United Vs Fulham (20:00) Saturday 17th August Ipswich Town Vs Liverpool (12:30) Arsenal Vs Wolverhampton Wanderers Everton Vs Brighton & Hove Albion Newcastle United Vs Southampton Nottingham Forest Vs AFC Bournemouth West Ham United Vs Aston Villa (17:30) Sunday 18th August Brentford Vs Crystal Palace (14:00) Chelsea Vs Manchester City (16:30) Monday 19th August Leicester City Vs Tottenham Hotspur (20:00) Anyone can join in and take part whether you have a fleeting interest in football or you're an avid football fan. Here's the thread from last season: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s...p;#entry7396075 Best of luck for the season to all participants!

  17. lol. Show me your ID, born after 1989? nah, you're not allowed bruv! Blame your parents!
  18. The main off-putting thing about the charts now for me is how complicated it is to work out how streams convert into "chart sales" and the whole business about ACR, SCR, VCR etc...... It's too much of a headache personally. To me something that is fun or enjoyable shouldn't be complicated, that's the main reason why I stopped following the UK charts closely years ago. It used to also be fun when big songs would get released on the same day/week and go head-to-head to see who could go for #1 or chart higher than the other, that became less of a common occurrence in later years.
  19. I'll join as well.

Anyone fancy becoming the England manager? https://careers.thefa.com/jobs/vacancy/engl...37/description/
  23. We've completed the signing of 18 year old Leny Yoro from Lille on a 5 year deal. This is definitely one for the future and he was in the Ligue 1 team of the season so hopefully he will develop well at United over the coming years.
  24. Just realised that I entered my scores wrong originally so I've edited them.
  25. +30 Nico Williams +29 Lamine Yamal +28 Dani Olmo +27 Rodri +26 Jordan Pickford +25 Fabian Ruiz +24 Marc Cucurella +23 Jamal Musiala +22 Khvicha Kvaratskhelia +21 Cody Gakpo +20 Arda Guler +19 Dani Carvajal +18 William Saliba I may add to this list later but right now off the top of my head this would be it. Nico Williams was the best player at the tournament in my view and I wish that he could come to Man United one day but most likely that wont happen.
