Feels like the tournament is flying by. There's a couple of rest days coming up on Thursday & Friday, when that happens you know the tournament is getting towards the latter stages.

Yeah in general there is a definite shift in mentality from the natural mindset of playing to win every match. Euro 2016 in particular was most badly affected by this, but even this year you've had the Scotland manager saying from the get go before a ball was kicked that they're aiming for 4 points. There is less of a feeling of panic after losing one of the first two matches because it's almost impossible to get knocked out if you can get a win and a draw in the remaining matches. It was not the attacking end-to-end match I was hoping for but Spain truly deserved the victory as they were the better team for the whole match. Italy didn't offer much until stoppage time when it was too late. Italy should be fine ultimately to go into the knockout stage with help from winning the 1st group match against Albania.

Would love to see an end-to-end attacking match full of goals for Spain & Italy here!

I just knew today would be the day that England drop points in the group stage. This peculiar thing of England not winning all their matches in a group stage goes on. They would have needed to step up as Denmark are a better side than Serbia but they couldn't manage it. These first two matches have shown that expectation levels need to be simmered down. It's easy to forget that the path to the final of Euro 2020 was put on a plate once England got past Germany in the last 16. If they had Italy's bracket you wouldn't have banked on them to beat Belgium or Spain.

I wonder if Cole Palmer will even get some game time during this tournament. Arguably the best player of the 2023/24 season in domestic English football and he's just on the bench watching from the sidelines.

Only one shot on target for Czech Republic but what a shot it was! But in the end it was probably the right result with Portugal just edging it. Looks like this group will be wide open. Just realised that this group is almost a mirror of Group A from Euro 2008. Just swap Georgia for Switzerland and it will be the exact same teams in the group.

Hopefully this season will mark the final appearance in the Premier League of one Josep Guardiola Sala!

That was an entertaining match between France and Austria. Austria were unlucky lose as they took the game to France and could have potentially won this match if they were more clinical with their chances. For the only goal of the match to be an own goal must sting extra for them as well. N'Golo Kanté played like how he did consistently for Leicester and Chelsea a few years ago and was all over the pitch at the right moments. Still no goal at the Euros yet for Mbappe.

As soon as England arrive on the scene the goals dry up! :lol: An underwhelming 2nd half performance from England but at least they got the 3 points. They'll have to improve against Denmark otherwise there's a good chance that they'll drop points against them and Denmark will be more of a test than Serbia.
