What a performance from PSG! They didn't give Inter breathing space at any point during the match. A lot of their players are still very young as well so this could be the start of a period of dominance for them in the Champions League. The irony of Mbappe leaving them last year to join Real Madrid only for PSG to win it immediately afterwards should not be lost.

Tomorrow sees the final of the UEFA Champions League taking place at the Allianz Arena in Munich between Paris St-Germain (PSG) and Inter Milan. PSG are looking to win this competition for the 1st time having previously been runners up in 2020 while Inter Milan are looking for their 4th triumph having last won the competition in 2010. Chelsea Vs Real Betis in the Conference League final tonight. It's a weird one because it feels like it doesn't matter what the result will be yet there is a trophy on the line. I think Chelsea will win though.

Also the moments are supposed to be the pay off to the drama that has been building over a season. For example Sergio Aguero's last minute goal against QPR in 2012 which is probably the most memorable moment in Premier League history, if Man City were 13 points clear with 5 matches to go and that happened it would only be City fans that would remember and talk about it to this day. It was the story of that 2011/12 season leading towards that match that made it what it was. Top two teams neck and neck for majority of the season, United at one point going 8 points clear with only a few matches to be played only to throw it away which included losing to City and then being separated only by goal difference heading into the last day. Leicester and West Brom being bottom of the table at Christmas to end up surviving. West Brom in 2005 were even bottom at the start of the final day and manged to stay up in the end. That kind of drama has been lacking this season.

Hopefully no one dies from this incident.

Of course people remember seasons, it's why programmes such as Premier League Years are made.

The title race (if there even was one) was done in November/December. Relegation places were practically decided in February/March. The only truly interesting aspect of the top 5 battle was whether Nottingham Forest could make it there and in the end that didn't even happen. It's only Liverpool fans that will remember this Premier League season in years and decades to come once the recency bias has worn off.

Going into Sunday Rooney has a 19 point lead over nearest competitor Flatcap. However with 32 points separating the top 4 it's still mathematically possible for any of them to finish the season on top of the overall leaderboard. We got what we deserved. Not only for tonight but for the season as a whole. There's no excuses at all really and not only that but we're probably destined to finish directly above the relegation line on Sunday as we'll certainly lose to Aston Villa. But at least the season will finally be over once and for all in a few days time. It just goes to further show that football moves in cycles and this is now our time to reach new lows but eventually the tide will turn even if takes a long while for that to happen. At the end of the day this is a different generation of players and club staff representing us compared to the 90's and 00's so the output is not guaranteed to be the same.

That was a very soft goal to concede. Both teams playing with a lot of nerves so far. We must do better in the 2nd half, Rasmus has hardly had a touch of the ball so far. It's still very much possible to turn it around.
