Yeah it feels like it was right to expand the tournament. It's just the method of trimming the teams down to 32 for the knockout stage that has it's flaws as we've seen with how some teams approached their group matches.

I remembered this today and have thought about it quite a lot today. It feels like the one year has flown by, one of the most shocking things I've ever seen to do with football. It didn't fully sink in when I first heard about it but it will forever remain such a tragedy.
