  1. I'm just so amused by Mistress's dedication to trolling that she comes in for the first half big and then in the filming break loses about half her bodyweight so it will be impossible for the production to hide that there was a break between filming because she will look so different from one 'week' to the next.
  2. Lets start the party with some honorable mentions from this year's full list: #28 Camila Cabello - I Luv It This might be controversial (although I have seen some limited appreciation for this track in year-end lists) but... I loved Camila Cabello's 2024 album. For me it spawned three #1s, a further two top 3 hits and a sixth longrunning top ten; altogether Camila spent 39 weeks in my top 40 of 2024 across six tracks, by far her single most successful year on my charts. Sure, it's experimental. But I didn't like her pop songs anyway, so this was basically a new artist debut for me, and damn did I enjoy it. I'd love it if she kept up this angle (she almost definitely won't). #32 Bjork & Rosalia - Oral (Olof Dreijer Remix) I missed the original track when it was released, but came across this fun remix this year which gives it much more of a carnival sound and this was one of my early summer anthems of 2024 as a result, something I found myself listening to a lot on the Tube and walking around London for my annual summer visit. Incongruously this ended up being one of two chart toppers for Rosalia in a year where she didn't really put anything out solo; as well as giving Bjork a second 2020s #1 after the fabulous Atopos did it two years prior. #34 SOPHIE & Kim Petras - Reason Why A bittersweet one as SOPHIE's posthumous (and likely last) released album gave us this underappreciated slowburner pairing with frequent collaborator Kim Petras. Originally a minor hit on my charts this ended up resurging after I heard it out at the club in a mix with some other Kim and Charli XCX songs giving me a new appreciation for it. #40 LISA & Rosalia - New Woman Rosalia's second #1 of the year, and a very promising start to LISA of Blackpink's solo career, after what I choose to view as a series of false starts. She's a kpop star, so the authenticity is never going to quite be there the way it might be with a Western background, but she sells this inventive take on a pop song well, and Rosalia's portion is both screwy and heavenly. #54 Kim Gordon - Bye Bye What I think ended up being my most-enjoyed BJSC discovery of the year, from Persephonia this time which I don't think has happened before. This is a great weightlifting song which helped as I got back into fitness this year - at least until I got bronchitis and sprained my knee in the autumn! #75 Kesha - Joyride Kesha's latest comeback track - zany and out of control. Looking forward to seeing her later this year at MightyHoopla. #80 Hole - Malibu Another classic that kept coming up in my Youtube algorithm this year and is also one of the songs I learned to sing properly this year after getting back into that, helped by starting to go out with a musician again #83 Pure Shores - Ear Candy This is one that I didn't really appreciate the first time round (back when it was Ji Nilsson and Marlene still) but gained a much greater appreciation for this summer as another summer anthem. #88 Crowded House - Don't Dream It's Over I'm vaguely aware this became a TikTok trend this year (iirc) but it's one that I came across following Miley Cyrus's cover of it as well as Crowded House's own return to releasing new music this year. Unfortunately for them I preferred this one. #94 Peggy Gou - Nanana (last year's #1) It's not every year my winner of the previous year makes the next year's top 100, but the festival/beer garden in the sun feel of this one is timeless; it's also versatile enough to slot onto a lot of different playlists. #98 Cynthia Erivo & Ariana Grande - Defying Gravity And finally, this squeaked its way in despite only coming out at the very end of the year. Yes, Ariana exceeded expectations in this role, but Cynthia Erivo showed that she is a star. Whatever she does next, I'm perched to watch.
  3. I might still swap mine. I'm second guessing it a bit 🔶
  4. Not sure what to enter this time, but it will probably be dance. One in for now
  5. Great episode! Butthole pulled it back and we got some unhinged drama. I didn't like Arrietty already and I've gone off Lexi now too, we're reaching the point where I question how she passed the psych evaluation, she must be playing it up for tv and trying to do a 'bit' but I'm over it personally.
  6. Alas, I did knock myself out of the semi by pointing Macromia :') congrats to Klum
  7. Casting a Minty and a Sminty and them leaving back to back is kinda amusing
  8. Yes, I'm dropping one in March - mostly to replace the one in my sig for the new site! A top 20 at least should be doable :')
  9. As a fashion girlie I absolutely hated Lydia's look since Miss Girl has talent and is just misapplying herself. That was a great instance of the lovers/friends lipsync though, just as good as the Morphine-Xunami one from last season. I'm touched despite myself at Kori's confession that if Ru had told her to shantay instead of Lydia she would have quit because she thought Lydia wanted & deserved to keep competing more than she did <3
  10. Surely Putin has to die sometime soon? He's not a young guy

Now how do I edit my signature? I've had a wee look in Profile but I'm not working it out
  13. @Liam sota do we have a problem here?
  14. Gypsy and Hair given the full single treatment would have smashed, with the former likely also picking up controversy airtime. Two singles for Joanne was probably enough. I'm still salty that Always Remember Us This Way wasn't the lead single over Shallow, much better song in my book.
  15. Another win for Starmer tbh. Honestly besides not doing enough to challenge the trans rights rollbacks (which feels in keeping with much of the world until that Cass report can get properly and resoundingly debunked) I really have zero issues with how this government has gone. The only other thing I would've changed is been more authoritative on crime and punishment/closing loopholes left by the last administration, but I understand they feel they have to walk a fine line there. The amount of ridiculous criticism they've had in the press AND from within Labour itself is just laughable in my book.
  16. This cast really is insanely D-list 😅 no shade to the cast but there really is room for everyone huh. Just hoping some of the queens from lower income countries end up making some good money from getting paid appearance fee in £
  17. Maybe I'll just give up at this point 😅 I feel like nothing I enter resonates with anyone any more while at the same time the most bizzare tracks are soaring through
  18. I fundamentally don't understand the point Liam is trying to make. Why should the general public know detailed facts from ANY ongoing criminal investigation in real-time unless it is a warning of a dangerous person at large or an appeal for witnesses? "Because they'll speculate and riot" is just post-hoc justification and excusal of the racist riots we had and has never before been seen in any similar case. Criminal investigations happen every day and detailed info is never released to the public in real time, and somehow people aren't spotted rioting every day over them.
  19. But you're the one who's leading with paranoia. If you had just trusted the authorities in the first place that would also have nixed the situation. Your argument is that we can never trust authorities no matter what they do and so they should always go out of their way to - in this case - share real-time updates of a criminal investigation into a minor who can't be named or identified due to age, with the general public.
  20. Is it crossing the line to point out that every day the war goes on is a day Ukraine kills Russian combatants, reducing the strength of their army overall and morale, which is a net positive for all of us that oppose Russia? It's not far off a proxy war if we're frank.
  21. Its also wild that we are midway through & 3 queens still haven't placed above safe!
  22. Have to agree with Cody there hasn't really been many actually 'good' lipsyncs or song choices so far! I did think Arrietty and Lexi were pretty lucky this episode that Acacia and Kori fumbled this just a bit worse. Kori's role was very hard to make work though and Acacia's came at a difficult time in the show to make impactful - I kind felt the Rusical went off the rails after her number. Drag Race Philippines 3 is unbothered with Wicked themed Rusicals. I would give Onya this win with Suzie a strong second (technically that role was the hardest with the dance and singing elements imo) and then Jewels, and only then Sam. Although she did well for sure that Cher role was kinda set up to be the breakout character so it was easier for her to make a splash, imo.
  23. By who? Pot, meet kettle
  24. For what it's worth, I don't entirely disagree with Liam's point. ...however my solve would be more in the vein of targeted strikes on high value targets to resolve everything quicker rather than a long war of attrition. Lol. Funnily enough the takeway from the situation with the IRA and the Troubles IS, to an extent, much as the state likes to have a monopoly on it, ultimately, violence did solve that problem. It took both sides to a very nasty place, and it left a lot of people with damage, but through conflict peace WAS eventually forced, along with removal of both the leaders that caused the most harsh of the hardship in the first place, and following that, the conditions that created that hardship. However, the similarlty between Ukraine and the Troubles from the perspective of the native population is in fact, that both believed themselves to be facing an existential threat. And it's hard for those of us not directly there but who sympathise to convey the coldly logical decision that to give up your land and your territory, your home and your culture, may be if not the winning move, the enforced move with the highest chance of survival. Because in doing so, that survival also ensures that people actively give up many things that make them who they are.
