It's been said elsewhere but it's pretty funny for Farage, a twice-divorced straight man to be lecturing the country about how opposite-sex relationships are the most stable.

This is complete fiction as well. As far as I know the person in question is the LANDLORD and was assumed to be trans because they were pictured wearing a onesie.

I take Rooney and Steve's point but I agree with this. I want to live in a country where racists are scared, because they should be. They should be worried that if they spread their bile and lies they might get a slap or a fine for it, because that's how it should be. It's not a 'difference of opinion' or a 'debate' if you're a person who believes that - and will try and campaign to make it legal that - some people deserve to be treated as less-than and discriminated against just because of their bloody APPEARANCE.

On a sidenote, the Farage Clacton house story Kind of funny that if in fact after he was elected there he did not in fact buy a house there himself but encouraged his French girlfriend to instead, that would mean that... One of the first things he did after being elected to Clacton was enable the selling of a house that local people could have moved into, to a foreigner from the EU.

Trump has already moved on and the right have already moved on. It's a waste of a life but he was wasting his life already making poison. He can't hurt anyone any more now. Thank god.

It may lead to an American civil war, which ultimately the Republicans will lose. Shame for them.

Trump: Folie à Deux (US Politics Thread)
Oh, I've been very careful with what I've said. Taking that one out of the rightwingers' playbook. It would be funny if it was a false flag attack to distract from Epstein etc. because even within it what it has shown the American people is; these people that spout all this kind of thing are quite literally not bulletproof and their own rhetoric literally encourages this kind of behaviour. I suppose the UK equivalent would be if we had a politician who insisted knife crime wasn't an issue to be worried about at all and that it was only committed by certain people, ending up getting one in the back. Going back to history this goes back to an argument I've made about politics already umpteen times. All of this 'we treat our poor and needy kindly because we're weak as a nation' etc. rhetoric is bullshit. You people who make up the wealthy and powerful historically have been nice enough to people with nothing left to lose, to keep them sweet. If you don't do that, if you make out they're all up for grabs to be attacked and harmed by you and your people, especially in a nation as heavily armed as America, all you're doing is putting a target on your own back with those groups. Strategically, this was going to happen at some point. It was inevitable. The more people your words reach, the more chance you reach someone with a) the motivation to stop you and b) the means and ability.

Frankly I can't believe my eyes seeing leftwingers and non-cult members posting condolences. One less evil person in the world. That's my view.

Trump: Folie à Deux (US Politics Thread)
As someone not opposed to the death penalty this doesn't bother me in tbe slightest. We are animals and this is what happens in nature. In a country as heavily armed with military grade weaponry as the US this was always going to happen at some point. The culture practically encourages it.

I also tend to agree, but, I think in SOME instances its a language block and we don't necessarily disagree as much as we might be talking past each other. I still argue online about immigration. But just because I'm not racist doesn't necessarily mean I don't think there are things that can be improved in the current system. The trouble that I see is just like in Thatchers first go round: selling off or cutting services that played a necessary function to prevent something becoming an issue; for short term financial gain that would ASSUREDLY create future problems.

I wonder @Iz 🌟 what you think about my perspective that for Reform, much like for the Republican party in America, their campaign at the minute is purely game theory based? That is. They've got it down to brass tacks that: immigration is the most emotive issue in the UK. Immigration can be contrived to be blamed for enough ills altogether that a plurality of people will probably vote for a single-issue party that claims to curtail immigration. That plurality is enough to win a majority in first-past-the-post out of a split vote; and; there's no mechanism once they're in by which they can meaningfully be held to account for actually achieving any of what they claim to be motivated by on their way to getting a foot in the door. Therefore, in pure terms, they've distilled the process of running for election down to: in order to win we need about X votes. How do we get X votes and no more? What single issue can we run on in order to get those X votes by hook or by crook? Strategically, I can't knock it.- SPOILERS | Drag Race Philippines (inc. Slaysian Royale)

So their minds are already made up. Fine. My major issue with stupid people nowadays, and with the parties that enable them, is they tell people that are stupid that they aren't. Knowledge, experience, expertise are all treated like optional, nebulous things that don't actually mean anything, that smart people or qualified people are just pretending in some way about, that people who just know a little about something unrelated are just as good at. And that's bunkum. Not only is it bunkum but it actually RUNS CONTRARY TO what the traditional working-class people and yes, I include social conservatives, have believed. Again I speak from experience so I can say it, although I'm sure someone's going to snipe into me any second for emotive-ising the discussion etc, but - conservative people have traditionally had a strong belief in hierarchy and knowing your place. And to an extent, that means trusting authority and doing what you're told because authority knows more than you and authority knows best. It's for that reason, and institutional trust baked into it too, rather than your own understanding, that you'd do what the doctor said, or what the vicar said, or what the policeman said or other community leaders. Even the reason that family members might look to grandma or grandad for advice that would hold heavier weight than the advice of their peers. That was how the world was understood to work. That's why its TOTAL BULLSHIT that Reform and all of Farage's other outfits before it are blaring this 'had enough of experts', anyone can be an expert, school of hard knocks bollocks and encouraging people to do things like reject vaccines - and I don't just mean covid, stuff we've had for DECADES like MMR, blasting conspiracy theories with zero evidence base whatsoever and so on and so forth. It's fine not to know enough about something to be able to make an informed decision. In the past, more people knew their place and knew - FROM EXPERIENCE in some cases, that defying the doctor or defying the vicar or defying the safety guidelines etc. was likely to lead to swift and unpleasant negative repercussions, at which point others in your community would jeer and mock you for being so daft as to not follow the basic rules. That WAS - and to an extent still IS in some ways - the base of British small-c conservatism. Nowadays what do we have? People fvcking around and everyone being too polite to call them out on it, and then when the shit hits the fan, the people that fvcked around are crying that it's not their fault, and Daddy Farage is on tv across all five main channels soothing them and saying of course not baby, YOU weren't wrong, it's ALL THE AUTHORITIES that advised you otherwise. THEY CONSPIRED to give you personally a bad time, it's not due to your own actions. People need to be suspicious of sheisters like him and people could do with being socially shamed again. And that's one of the reasons I'm not going to stop calling stupid people stupid.- The Reform Gammons and Hot Air Ltd thread
I have zero respect for anyone who supports Reform in any way shape or form. Frankly, YOU shouldn't be welcome in this country. They're traitors. Go on and vote for them and watch them sell Britain to Russia and America while saying ohhhhh, we TRIED to stop the immigrants but the elite/the UN/global laws stopped us. Guess we'll just keep taking the salary and do absolutely fvck all but gut the country's coffers and set you all at each other's throats while we point and laugh like the billionaires in Squid Games.- FLJ • 177 • SEMI RESULTS
