There's something Christmassy in itself about the goodwill towards Sam despite Eurovision still having a joke reputation for much of the UK gp

She doesn't get that if your thing is putting out an unorthodox old sample every now and then it lessens the impact if you then put out an album with three or four the same. But she's never really been an albums artist tbh. She should consider releasing a features & solos greatest hits, that would instantly pull in a lot of her big hitters on streaming and likely sell well too.

You've voted, and we have our task: Ranking the queens of (some of the seasons of) 2023 Last year we ranked the queens of UK4, Canada 3, Canada vs the World, UK vs the World, Down Under 2, US Season 14 and All Stars 7 (All Winners 1). This year, you've voted and so the seasons up for grabs are: UK5, Canada 4, Down Under 3, US Season 15 and All Stars 8. You don't need to rank all the seasons, just the ones you've watched. (If we do end up with very few scores for Down Under 3 though, the least voted on the poll, we might end up rethinking this - anyway, we'll see!) The task will be to give all the queens from the seasons you've watched a score from 1 to 10, based on how much you like(d) them in their season or generally. Then the mods will count them all up and work out a total and an average until we have BuzzJack's Favourite Queen of 2023! Note that you don't need to score them from 1 to 10; you might want to give your fave queen in the season 10/10, your second fave 8/10, your third fave 7.5/10 etc. We will allow .5 scores but no 0.5 or 10.5. Just like last year you will have a total of THREE optional 11s (for your absolute faves) and THREE optional -1s (for any you couldn't stand) to give out across your rating of ALL the queens in the group. (Not three per season!) These scores are not mandatory to give, if you want to score all the queens no lower than 7 that's your business. Honestlyyy I have come to a new appreciation for this post-Tension album release. It's still kind of light compared to some of the pop brilliance on the album but it's undeniably catchy

Nymphia Wind is the most striking for me out of these, although my favourite outfit is Saphira's. I'm totally unspoiled for this season so I don't know what at all might be coming up! I still hope they might do a comeback challenge in the regular seasons as we haven't had one since I think S7!

Since I'm not sure it's been posted here yet, was anyone aware that the policy to 'send refugees to Rwanda' also wasn't the full description of that policy...? It's not a one way deal, it's a refugee exchange. The UK government has made the deal to PAY Rwanda to take our young refugees coming here in search of work IN EXCHANGE FOR refugees that Rwanda is struggling to house and fund; people with health difficulties and people too old to work. They are keeping that bit very quiet! It's no wonder Rwanda took the deal though they must think the UK negotiators are stupid.

Coming soon I wanted to just cache a bit of interest in which seasons you watched this year and would be interested in featuring. The format will follow last year's in which we score, and then count down by overall average rank, all queens (within the selection) who competed on a season in the last year. You can pick as many or few options as you like and the mods will make a decision based on the highest interest. Last year's winner was Icesis Couture! At some point we would also consider running a bigger rate of multiple seasons however there are now so many seasons that we may have to pick and choose that as well. Thanks!

Just a thought worth asking the community here about. As you know this is a BuzzJack based forum and most of us are longterm general contributors to the site who also have an interest in Drag Race. However... there are a lot of RPDR fans out there who might not be aware of this space & might be interested in joining. Thus far I haven't actively tried to 'advertise' the forum in case people like the community as it is and wouldn't like it to get any bigger, so... what do you think? I'm happy to hear any thoughts leaning either way. Cheers!

When I said one surprise early out I didn't acticipate TGE! She had so much star quality in the first ep. For next out I would predict Luna Dubois now. That cat outfit was distracting in all the worst ways.

I totally forgot about this! I didn't expect her to do so well when I picked her tbh! Though I thought Snatch Game was always a fairly safe bet and that would probably see her through to the finals.

Not to rock the boat but it doesn't bother me THAT much because it's more analagous to the radio than to music buying in my opinion. That is, the vast majority of people that listen on streaming would never have been album/single buyers anyway before the service existed. An alternative to trying to change the entire system might be for artists to bring back a 'fan club' style subscription service in order to support your favourite artists directly instead of relying on streaming or itunes to do it for you. If artists think of it more as an advertising platform than a selling platform I think that shifts the mentality around it. It does for me anyway. So that as a young artist starting out you would try to use spotify to engage and drive potential fans to support you directly, instead of just putting your content on spotify and having that be the end of it.
