Hun, I don’t think you’re stanning the right artist if you’re so comfortable using racial tropes as criticism. It may come as a shock, but it is possible to be a long-time Gaga fan and still not feel the need to delegitimise others to defend her success. I would be thrilled with her (or Bad Bunny) winning. There’s a big difference between wishing the album had been bigger or handled differently and whatever it is you’re projecting. I’ve been here long enough to know you’ve been whining about her career circling the drain for years — and yet here she is, still 'relevant' two decades in. One of her best albums yet, an incredible tour, a year full of highlights, and she's clearly happy. What a hater I am. 🖤

This entire post is unnecessarily belittling. Bad Bunny released one of the most acclaimed and commercially successful albums of the year — his narrative isn’t that he’s just an immigrant in Trump’s America. He’s deserving. I’m not a fan of GNX, but it’s hard to ignore what a cultural behemoth Kendrick has been this era. I agree with the consensus that they wasted momentum and failed to push singles, especially given how many strong options they had. But ultimately, she doesn’t have to play that game anymore. You can pretend Sabrina didn't spend most of the past decade in the weeds if you want, but they’re still not remotely comparable. I understand the points people are making, but she’s just not Tate McRae battling for relevancy. Sure, it’s frustrating, but at a certain point fans need to accept when they’re acting unhinged about an artist who is clearly fulfilled with where her career is. She obviously loves this album and has more than earned the right to do what she wants. I just cannot be remotely bitter about an era that served the best tour of her career and relit her passion for pop music again. It's been a hoot x

I do want to add that my own personal thoughts on AI are mostly separate. We all have lives, so I'm not expecting someone to learn how to use Adobe to host an online song contest once Although spreadsheets are daunting to me and I still did them and then lowkey had a breakdown

AI already stole the em-dash from me so we have beef I just want to preface this by saying that art is inherently subjective, and this is not a comment on your presentation 🖤 I personally dislike all forms of AI in the creative process. I'm a creative working in a creative industry, and hate seeing slop become more mainstream. I know people have generated banners and other things on here in the past, which I don't judge anyone for, it has become so normalised... but I do find it icky. In my head, Addy was locked in a basement with just Photoshop and Unsplash images of airlines for a week, and I appreciated the concept. I am not completely against AI as a small tool or an assist, but that is it. I have made everything on here myself, questionable taste/quality sometimes, but it's mine and didn't require the power of a server running for hours to make. I'll just have to soften my views on it, especially as it's only going to get harder to avoid or even notice over time AI-generated songs are just insane to me and essentially exist, again, by stealing pre-existing art and work most of the time. I would purposefully not want to vote for it, which seems unfair to the person who submitted it and contradicts the purpose of BJSC
