I would be more plucked at Crystal winning both challenges if I felt like someone was actually great, but the past two episodes everyone has been operating at varying levels of crap. That doesn’t apply to the lip syncs or some of the runways though Do think Dawn was the best, after thinking she should have gone home last week x

This. Confessions was inspired by seventies disco and eighties dance. Get Together was the only one that seemed more like a spin on French-house of the early 2000s, which is a framework for a lot of this album. This album is very specific with the 90s and early 2000s references, it's definitely a sequel 🖤 I think Bizarre is the only song that sounds like it could be a genuine Confessions track (well, and I Feel So Free, but that is more of a bridge), but it also has that 2000s edm spin on it

Now I have had a few days with this, I think it's not only the best album she's released in two decades, but better than the original Confessions. It doesn't have Hung Up, Get Together, or Sorry, songs so huge they're basically impossible to replicate, but it didn't explore dance music (and her own discography) the way this one does. also had a few clangers It's almost audacious that she had this in her still, all these years later. It's relentless, and all 16 songs more than deserve their place. I think the second half is stronger and more interesting, not to discredit the first half. It's a journey. I saw someone describe School as being as much a product of Blackout as it is the soundtrack to a Babadook orgy Introspective Madonna always gets me, especially now after 2023, so obviously I love the last few tracks too Anyway. Obsessed with Joey but I’m going to go against the consensus and say that, while funny, her actual story was pretty weak and she had one of the worst looks on a very strong runway I think anyone with cue cards was probably immediately taken out of consideration when they’re supposed to be retelling a silly inspirational story to themselves, but you know the judges are rarely consistent with these things x Anyway! Awful challenge but one of the best lip-syncs in recent memory. My iconic mother deserved to stay over half of the cast 🖤 Dawn and Sam are very lucky I’m not a judge

This comment in Pitchfork made me scream (with excitement and at the deserved Róisín drag) Feeling very vindicated for seeing the vision from the beginning. Time to dive in x

eee girlies I am ready Madonna was my first popstar. She didn't sound like anyone else and was genuinely experimental to my peanut brain. I remember losing it as a kid to Confessions, which led me to discover Ray of Light and being floored. I have held her to this unfair standard ever since, because those years were so formative to my taste in pop music, and honestly, Hard Candy to Madame X gave us some of the worst music I've ever heard I know the singles haven't landed for everyone, and maybe I have just gotten more lenient out of desperation, but this era has just been joyous and I am v excited for tomorrow x

Metacritic Confessions on a Dancefloor 80 Hard Candy 65 MDNA 64 Rebel Heart 68 Madame X 70 It's been a long time since she's had an album as well reviewed as this across the board. Madame X had some positive coverage but ultimately pretty mixed, and nothing close to acclaim

She’s such a hoot. I have always found her awkward humour endearing She did soften around Kylie, it was nice seeing that side of her. Great to hear more about what the album means and represents too 🖤 It seemed more like a hint towards next summer, which made me think of her finally headlining Glastonbury…
